The discovery and development of phosphorus pentoxide supported on silica gel (P2O5–SiO2) as an e... more The discovery and development of phosphorus pentoxide supported on silica gel (P2O5–SiO2) as an efficient catalyst has led to an efficient method for the direct preparation of 1-thioamidoalkyl-2-naphthol derivatives in high yields by one-pot, three-component reaction of β-naphthol, aryl aldehydes, and thiourea or N-phenylthiourea at 100 °C under solvent-free conditions. In addition to its simplicity, this method has the ability to prepare a wide variety of the desired products.

An eco-friendly procedure for synthesis of 2,3-dihydroquinazoline-4(1H)-one, 2H-indazolo[2,1-b]ph... more An eco-friendly procedure for synthesis of 2,3-dihydroquinazoline-4(1H)-one, 2H-indazolo[2,1-b]phthalazinetrione, and benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine derivatives by three-component reaction, with phosphoric acid supported on alumina as catalyst, is described. Noticeable features of the method are that it is solvent-free, work-up is easy, yields are excellent, and the catalyst is reusable.

P2O5/Al2O3, an easily handled recyclable catalyst, has been used in an eco-friendly and mild proc... more P2O5/Al2O3, an easily handled recyclable catalyst, has been used in an eco-friendly and mild procedure for trimethylsilyl protection of alcohols by use of hexamethyldisilazane. Solvent-free, ambient reaction conditions, easy work-up, short reaction times, excellent yields and reusability of the catalyst are noticeable features of this method.

The remarkable features of this new procedure are high conversions, shorter reaction times, cleaner reaction, and simple experimental and work-up procedures.
