Mothers still sun their infants to treat neonatal jaundice, nappy rash or mostly to supply vitamin D for bone development because of health beliefs. Therefore, this study is designed to assess the attitude and practice of mothers regarding sunlight and sun protection. A descriptive study was conducted among the mothers having infant children to assess the attitude and practice regarding sunning babies in the Anandpur, Kallangur and Narayan communities of Bharatpur 13 Municipality. A total of 50 mothers having an infant child were selected for the study using stratified sampling technique and the data was collected using a semi-structured interview schedule. The study findings revealed that the mean age of 50 enrolled mothers was 23 years, 62.0% were in the age group of 25-35 years. Most of them had single child (54.0%) and 58.0% were male. Eighty percent of mothers were housewives with an educational level of bachelor above (24.0%). Sunlight was considered beneficial for bone development 72.0% and 76.0% believed sunlight would prevent jaundice in baby. Sunning was reported as a traditional practice in society (82.0%). In case of neonatal jaundice, all of the participants 100% reported that they would consult a physician. Most of the participants, 82.0% were sunning their babies in shade, 82.0% mothers were sunning their babies before 10 a.m. and/or after 4 p.m. but 62.0% of mothers displayed inappropriate behavior keeping baby for longer duration than 15 minutes. Only 8.0% of mothers reported using sunscreen for their babies. This study shows most of the participants were aware of the benefits of sunlight, especially for bone development. However, they were displaying inappropriate behavior while sunning their babies for health reasons. More education should be given to parents about the danger of sunlight at primary health care units while advising their babies, if any.

However, these rights are often observed violated in mental health care settings, where individuals may face forced treatment, isolation, and degrading conditions. Despite global advocacy efforts, to ensuring that these rights are respected, continues to be a challenge for healthcare professionals and the general public. This review examines the current awareness of human rights among mental health professionals and the public, identifies the knowledge gaps, and highlights the recent developments in policy and practice aimed at improving human rights in mental health care. A comprehensive search of academic databases identified relevant studies published between 2019 and 2024. Findings suggest a promising level of public knowledge about human rights, yet negative attitudes and stigma persist. While improvements in mental health services have been observed among healthcare professionals; resource limitations and a lack of social support remain challenging. A gap between knowledge and practice is evident, necessitating further education and training to ensure a deeper understanding of human rights complexities in mental healthcare. Overall, this review underscores the importance of continued efforts to raise awareness and advocate for the human rights of individuals with mental health conditions. By implementing educational and sensitization programs, a supportive environment can be created that empowers them to seek help without fear of discrimination.

The current pandemic due to Coronavirus which was detected in late 2019 in the city of Wuhan, China affected almost the entire world in a very short time. It has had a negative impact on people's social interaction and has brought changes in every aspect of life. Partial or full time lockdown have been imposed around the world to reduce the spreading of the epidemic that changed the way of life. Practices such as work from home, has been implemented. The education sector also could not escape from this restriction. Abruptly the digital technologies have been adopted to manage the gap. The whole academic years maintained in digital environments. Though unlike traditional education, virtual education also has many advantages such as flexibility, time savings, comfort, asynchronous interaction, enhance group collaboration, speedy dissemination of education materials, offers combination of education while balancing family and work life. However, there are certain drawbacks of virtual learning which can't be denied. Lack of safety to access internet and internet-featured devices. Those cannot afford internet and a smart device may deprive of education. Internet speed and connectivity may affect various educational activity (rural area). Nursing education since needs continuous hands on training and it is more based on skill and competency development, it is markedly affected due to dry lab and lack of opportunity for clinical and field experience. The current study was aimed to explore the attitude of nursing students towards virtual learning. Results: The current study found that 79% nursing students have positive attitude towards virtual classes. All the students have smart phones and they have attended their classes through that. Eighty percent students have a good internet access. Fifty-two percent students had never experienced any online session before COVID. Ninety-three percent nursing students know downloading audios/videos/documents and sending documents/images/videos to others online, 87% know preparing content in word and PDF file, 71% feel confident in using computer, 68% learn to use computer and online activities by trial and error, 54% know shortcuts, and more efficient ways to use computer and 45% solve problems with any function of the computer by self. Internet accessibility, confidence in using computer and unable to solve problems related to functions of computer have significant association with attitude towards virtual learning. Conclusions: Lack of previous experience of virtual sessions, technology use competency of students, poor internet accessibility, not having a laptop and all of a sudden forceful implication of complete digitalisation in education system put the students into challenges. They must have suffered a lot for that is a big matter of concern. The current study is an eye opener to make the students understand that they need to develop their technology use competency in order to cope with the future need, since in future the society going to be more digitalised globally.

Hospital or healthcare-acquired infections (HAI) are new infections that patients acquire as a result of healthcare interventions to treat other conditions. some high-income countries have national surveillance systems for HAIs, there are fewer data available from lowand middle-income countries. Recent systematic reviews have estimated hospital-wide prevalence of HAIs in high-income countries at 7.6% and in low and middle-income countries at 10.1 %.( WHO, 2011).A hospital-acquired infection, also known as a HAI or in medical literature as a nosocomial infection, is an infection whose development is favored by a hospital environment, such as one acquired by a patient during a hospital visit or one developing among hospital staff. Such infections include fungal and bacterial infections and are aggravated by the reduced resistance of individual patients. (Oxford dictionary, 2008).Nosocomial infections affect about 30% of patients in ICUs. Increased risk of infection in the ICU patients is associated with severity of illness, underlying conditions, exposure to multiple invasive devices and procedures (endotracheal intubation, urinary catheters, etc.) and increased patient contact with healthcare personnel. ICU staff and the equipment used for patient care during the hospitalization are the primary sources of cross-transmission of nosocomial pathogens.

The morbidity may range from asymptomatic mild to severe life threatening. It may transmit through droplets or contaminated surfaces. In an effort to mitigate the outbreak of COVID-19, most of the countries have imposed drastic lockdown. The effectiveness of these mitigation measures is highly dependent on cooperation and compliance of the public. The knowledge, attitudes and practices of people toward the disease, play an integral role in determining a society's readiness to accept the prevention strategies from health authorities. The aim of the current study was to explore the knowledge, attitudes and practices toward COVID-19 among the people of Odisha, a state located in the east of India. A cross-sectional online survey of 1,086 people residing in Odisha was conducted between 30 th June 2020 to 04 th August 2020. The survey tool was consisted of demographic characteristics, 12 items on knowledge, 6 on attitudes and 4 on practices, modified from a previously published questionnaire on COVID-19. Descriptive statistics, ANOVA and chi-square tests were conducted. The average knowledge score for participants was 9.9 and there was age wise significant difference observed in knowledge scores and knowledge had a significant association with attitude of the participants. However, irrespective of the demographic profile, knowledge level and attitude, most of the participants (above 80%) were following appropriate practices to protect themselves from getting infection. The results highlight the importance of consistent health education programs to improve the levels of knowledge, attitudes and practices.
