Its structural properties were characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The copolymer displayed different voltammetry behaviors by applying various DDS concentrations. Among all examined pABA:DDS ratios, the 1:1 ratio provided the most suitable copolymer film on the surface of the electrode. The solubility tests revealed that the copolymer is just soluble in warm dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Its electroconductivity was obtained to be 9.02 × 10−2 S cm−1. In conclusion, the synthesized novel conductive copolymer is an environmentally friendly substance that can be used in many areas.

The residue of pesticides has been reported to be at a critical level in agricultural crops, especially in greenhouse crops. Tomato is considered as an important vegetable in Iranian food basket and is produced in fields and greenhouses. So, the current study aimed to assess diazinon and oxydemeton-methyl levels in tomatoes sampled from five Kerman greenhouses. The extraction of these pesticides was carried out by mixture of dichloromethane and acetone. The extracts were cleaned up according to solid-phase extraction method. The pesticide residue was then determined by capillary gas chromatography and through nitrogenphosphorus detection. The obtained results showed that the recovery level was estimated at 86.7 and 84.3% with RSD≤ 16.0%, the limit of detection was estimated at 0.026 and 0.035 mg kg, limits of quantification stood at 0.091 and 0.115 mg kg, and linearity r= 0.997 and r= 0.989 for diazinon and oxydemeton-me...

The presence of Sarcheshmeh copper (Cu) mine and the possibility of soil pollution, were the primary motivations for evaluating heavy metals in this area. Methods: A total of 171 soil and 10 sediment samples were collected randomly from the study area for Cu, aluminum (Al), molybdenum (Mo), lead (Pb), and cadmium (Cd) determination. The USEPA method was used to acid digest soil samples, and metals present in the samples were detected using atomic absorption spectroscopy. Results: By measuring metal concentrations and calculating the geo-accumulation index (Igeo), enrichment factor (EF), and contamination factor (CF), the level of soil pollution by metals was assessed. It was found that soil and sediment samples were contaminated with Cu and the pollution decreased from the mine to Rafsanjan city, indicating that the pollution was anthropogenic. The soil has not been poisoned by Al or non-natural states be...

The residue of pesticides in agricultural crops, especially in greenhouse harvests, has been reported critical. Cucumber, considered as a vegetable, is an agricultural product which is commonly found in the Iranian food basket. The current study aims to assess the level of diazinon and oxydemeton-methyl existing in cucumbers sampled from Kerman greenhouses. The pesticide residue was extracted by acetone and dichloromethane. The extracts were cleaned up according to the solid-phase extraction method. The pesticide residues were then determined by capillary gas chromatography with nitrogen-phosphorus detection. The recoveries were 83 and 85 %, the limit of detection was 0.028 and 0.034 mg/kg, and the limits of qualification were 0.093 and 0.113 mg/kg for diazinon and oxydemeton-methyl in cucumber samples, respectively. The median of diazinon residue was detected 0.582 mg/kg, which was 11.64 times the national maximum residue limit (MRL) (0.05 mg/kg), and the median for oxydemeton-methyl was 1.910 mg/kg, being 1.91 times the MRL (1 mg/kg).

AFM1 was detected in 72 samples, ranging in concentration from <0.01 to 0.41 µg l(-1). The samples were analyzed using immunoaffinity column for clean-up and HPLC for determining AFM1. Milk samples were collected from six dairy farms. AFM1 was found in ∼ 50% of the milk samples. The average level of AFM1 was below the tolerance limit (0.05 µg l(-1)), but 50% of the samples had greater levels than the maximum tolerance limit accepted by EU and the Iranian national standard. The method detection limit and limit of quantification were 0.01 and 0.03 µg l(-1), respectively, and recovery of the method was 87%. The results showed that AFM1 contamination is a serious problem for public health. To achieve a low level of AFM1 in milk, cattle feed must be monitored regularly for aflatoxin contamination and protected from fungal contamination as much as possible.

MIP-MWCNT composite synthesis was optimized using experimental design by screening of eight variables and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results showed that a very thin film made by MIP-MWCNT was coated on steel rod which was repeatable and had good adhesion and persistence. The samples extracted were injected into the UHPLC under optimum conditions and the tetradifon level was determined. The detection limit (LOD) and the quantification limit (LOQ) of the method were measured as 16 and 49 ng/mL, respectively. Tetradifon average recovery at the two spiked levels of tetradifon was obtained to be as low as 86.5% to 90.7% (RSD from 0.79% to 1.04%). The low cost, high selectivity, good reproducibilit...
