The inability to recognize color has caused several problems to the patient daily life and in conducting certain color oriented activities. To help the patient cope with the problem of recognizing colors, a color vision deficiency aided device is designed. This paper focuses on developing a user interface that can detect colors and show it as text on the screen of the device using the concept of augmented reality. The system basically consists of a mini computer, Raspberry PI and its own camera module as well as a LCD screen for display purposes. Raspberry PI is used due to its small and compact size and capability to carry out image processing. With the help of OpenCV library, color detection, filtering and processing can be carried out easily. Benchmark shape and color of has been designed for experimental purposes to test for the performance and functionality of the system. The result of the distance test shows that the hue (H) element is almost consistent whereas the saturation (S) varies by roughly 49.3% and value (V) by 30.5%. As for the range of detection, the minimum range is 12 cm where the maximum range is up to 15 meter. The accuracy of the 4 base colors detection is about 80%.

The trend shows that by increasing the power density, indirectly it will increase the temperature and power dissipation in CPU processor. This is a major challenge to the product designer of electronics cooling system to find an alternative technique to solve the problem. Therefore, in order to control and minimize the heat produced by the CPU's processor, the conventional external heat sink is added to the overall thermal management mechanism. In this paper, 3D simulation inline pin fin heat sink is designed using COMSOL Multiphysics software. The outcome of this study hopefully can shed some light on how to optimize inline pin fin arrangement heat sink design.

The platform of the temperature behaviour prediction is based on printed circuit board. The numerical finite-difference method (FDM) is used to design the discretization of these partial differential equations. The results of finite-difference approximation are presented graphically. Numerical methods that are used in solving the problem are the method of Jacobi, Gauss-Seidel, Red-Black Gauss-Seidel, Successive Over Relaxation (SOR) and Red-Black Successive Over Relaxation. The numerical analysis is treated done in terms of time execution, computation complexity, number of iterations, accuracy and convergence rate.

Weighted-sum approach for multi-objective genetic algorithm (WMOGA) with formulated initial placement and multi-constraints parameters (FIPMCP) are presented. FIPMCP is used for the components selection and components to PCB placement mapping procedures for random initial population. The objectives are to optimize thermal distribution f (T) of electronic ...

This is as a result of the high amount of electric energy consumption ascribed to the system due to its components. The water supply system of the Mara-Japan Industrial Institute (MJII), Beranang, Selangor is one of such system that suffers this challenge of high operational cost. In this paper we have applied the use of an Adaptive Weighted Sum Genetic Algorithm to optimize the system operations such that it minimizes the high energy consumption as well as ensuring the overall reliability of the water level in the reservoir. The results obtained from the optimized model of the system show a promising and a significant reduction to the tune of 34.97% in the amount of energy consumed as compared with that of normal operations.

The main objective is to obtain an optimal heat sink design for solving thermal problem on CPU electronic package. In this case, single and multi-objective particle swarm optimization are explored for searching the optimal dimensions of plate fin heat sink design. The optimal design could maximize the heat dissipation and minimize the size of heat sink. Based on the previous research finding and preliminary simulation results, thickness and length of plate fin are selected for optimization. Analysis has been conducted to obtain the best convergence rate of iteration process and optimum values of the fitness functions. This study has demonstrated the usefulness of optimization engine in order to obtain the optimal design of heat sink with area reduction is about 27.15% and heat dissipation has increased by 79.33%.

A continuing in increasing of power density in CPU processor, by reducing the size of electronic products has led to the importance of thermal management issue in this industry. This issue will reduce the performance of the CPU processor and indirectly affects the lifetime of the electronics package. In order to avoid these consequences, therefore, heat sink with high heat transfer rate is need. The selection of suitable heat sink geometries requires a compromise among the availability of space, weight, and cost as well as the heat transfer characteristics of the heat sink model surface. This study aims to provide the optimal arrangement of heat sink by using random approach that randomly generated the position of pin by visualized the thermal profile using COMSOL Multiphysics software. The finding of this study propose a new arrangement (optimal) of the pin fin that be able to give better thermal performance which are 2.84 percent and 0.63 percent compared to the conventional design, which is inline and staggered arrangement. To develop a simple and effective random approach arrangement can significantly contribute to the advancement of thermal performance solution and catering the industrial needs.

Particle Swarm Optimization is a well known algorithm that is proven to be effective in many complex optimization problems. Multiobjective PSO is developed by utilizing non-dominated sorting algorithm in tandem with majority-based selection algorithm. The optimizer is written by using MATLAB alongside its GUI interface. Results are then analyzed by using the Binh and Korn benchmark test and natural distance performance metrics. From the results, the optimizer is capable to minimize up to 42 percent of energy consumption and lowering the electricity bills up to 43 percent, while still maintaining comfort at more than 95 percent as well. With this, building owner can save energy with a low-cost and simple solution.
