Most of the companies which are active in social media and online marketing sites use the public ... more Most of the companies which are active in social media and online marketing sites use the public forum to promote their brands and services. Manual classification of reviews into positive or negative polarity is a time consuming process. In order to improve the efficiency, the classification process is automated. The reviews which are usually unstructured are pre – processed and POS tagged for classification of human sentiments. The words that are mostly sentiment bearing are extracted and weighted. Supervised Machine Learning algorithms such as Naïve Bayes(NB), Support Vector Machine(SVM) and Maximum Entropy(ME) are employed to classify reviews. Further, performance of the classification algorithms are examined based on the performance parameters such as Accuracy, Precision, Recall and f-measure.
