The aim of this study was to design a model of professional development for elementary teachers o... more The aim of this study was to design a model of professional development for elementary teachers of special schools of students with mental retardation in Tehran. The Mixed method was conducted. In the qualitative study, the population was consisted of all the education experts. A purposive sampling of 15 experts were selected. The statistical population in the quantitative study was all elementary school teachers who were in Tehran (N=347). Cochran formula was used, and 200 teachers (n=200) were selected by simple random sampling. To collect data, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were used. To analysis of qualitative data, thematic analysis, and for quantitative data partial least square method were used. The study reported in this article aimed to examine 28 managerial skills proposed in the conceptu... more The study reported in this article aimed to examine 28 managerial skills proposed in the conceptual model of O*NET. Specifically, the study tried to investigate whether there is any statistically significant relationship between the current and desired status of managerial skills in the Iranian capital's (Tehran) universities. Two questionnaires were administered to 146 university managers in Tehran. First application pertained to the desired status of managerial skills, and the other related to the current status of the managerial skills. The results of the analyses revealed that the difference (gap) between the desired and the current status is statistically significant.
In this research educational decision-making system was studied based on five (internal and exter... more In this research educational decision-making system was studied based on five (internal and external) factors including: environment of decision-making (suprasystems), structure of decision–making, process of decision-making, implementing of decision–making, and evaluation and feedback of decision–making. Data was gathered by questionnaire from two groups, members of the Faculties of Education settled in Tehran and staff managers and specialists of the Ministry of Education. Findings show that the educational decision–making system has many imperfections with structural factors being the most important and implementation factors the least of them. Furthermore, the study samples emphasize decentralization of educational decision–making system.

The present study seeks to identify the contextual and organizational factors of professional dev... more The present study seeks to identify the contextual and organizational factors of professional development for elementary teachers of special schools of students with mental retardation in Tehran. The Mixed method was used. In the qualitative study, the population consisted of all the education experts. By purposive sampling, 15 experts were selected. The population in the quantitative study included all elementary school teachers who were in Tehran. Cochran formula was used, and 200 teachers were selected by simple random sampling. To collect data, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were used. To analyze the qualitative data, thematic analysis, and for quantitative data partial least square method were used. The results demonstrated that the content of teacher's professional development consists of 8 factors: Students and their learning needs, teachers and their learning needs, norms of educational system-organizational culture, curriculum and instruction system, national and local policies, financial and time resources, families and communities, school management and learning environments. Totally, the contextual and organizational factors explained 94% of the changes in the teacher's professional development.

Background and Objective: Asymmetric distribution of knowledge and technology in globalization er... more Background and Objective: Asymmetric distribution of knowledge and technology in globalization era, and the necessity of global interactions for universities have led them to enter into international scientific collaboration (ISC) and strategic evaluation of status quo is required for effective participation in it. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the ISC of top Iranian universities using SWOT analysis. Materials and Methods: This was an applied descriptive survey. 432 faculty members of the top 12 universities were selected through a stratified sampling. The data-collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire whose content validity was confirmed by experts and counterparts and its reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha equal to 0.816. Data analyzed through Fuzzy BWM. Results: The most important strengths included increasing presence of researchers at international conferences, and the existence of suitable international development platforms in universities; weaknesses included inadequacy of faculty annual grants, and university administrators' lack of knowledge about ISC; opportunities included the youthfulness of Iran's population, the lifting of some sanctions against Iran and international community's new appetence to acceptance of Iran in international academic consortia and finally important threats included the economic downturn in most countries; lack of political platform for ISC and the spread of Islam and Iran phobia around the world. Conclusion: International Scientific Collaboration is required for meeting many objectives of the Iran development plans, and is strongly influenced by the specific cultural, political, religious and international conditions of Iran. Top universities must meet the international academic standards and audit the requirements of international community.

The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between organizational citizenship be... more The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and dimensions of personality among the staff of Tehran University. In this study 213 expert staffs were selected to form the statistical samples. Results indicate that: 1) OCB and personality dimensions take a place higher than average position. 2) Results of Pearson Correlation show that OCB has positive relations with personality dimensions including: agreeableness, consciousness, openness, and extraversion; however, the relation between neuroticism and OCB seems negative. 3) Result of Regression analysis demonstrates that consciousness, agreeableness and openness predict the OCB.
