Though the state has now 31 districts, earlier there were 10 districts and the study is related to the earlier phase. The district lies between 16°451 and 180351 of Northern latitude and 79°47¹and 80°47¹of the Eastern longitude. It is bounded on the north by Chhattisgarh and Odisha states, on the East by East and West Godavari districts of the present Andhra Pradesh, on the south by Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh and on the west by Nalgonda and Warangal districts of Telangana state. Thus, the district is strategically located on the borders of three states. Agro-climatic conditions mainly refer to soll types, rainfall, temperature and water availability (Water balance) which influences the type of vegetations. The study area is one of the few 'Crop intensive districts' in A. P. In Guntur district different Agricultural & Horticultural crops are being raised. By using water balance technique' Agro-climatic Regionalisation can be studied. The water balance study has also become important in the field of eco climatology. It also strives to gauge and estimate the water balance of the study area by adopting the method of Thomthwaite and Mather. The water-balance framework thus extracted guides in the understanding the agricultural appropriateness of the region, establishment of drought years by their magnitude and portrayal of drought-prone areas. The study indicated that crop cultivation without dependability on irrigation is not possible in the district especially during Rabi season. Agro-climatic regionalisation revealed the fact that paddy cultivation is not possible without irrigation in most parts of the district. With Irrigation, paddy cultivation will be prosperous in coastal regions. However, with little irrigation facilities, millet crops will give good yields. The present study is an attempt on an area which has typical physical and climatic variations, in turn, leads for agro-climatic regionalisation.

It is basically a statement of the "law of conservation of mass" as applied to the hydrological cycle. Keeping this view, water balance analysis has been carried out taking Guntur district as study area. For that purpose, monthly temperature and rainfall data for the years 1985 to 2015 were collected from the weather records of Indian Meteorological Department and the regional government departments. It is helpful in the evaluation of various hydrological elements like water storage, water surplus and water deficit, which in turn provide quantitative solutions to many hydrological questions, in a given region (Hemamalini, 1993). Drought is weather related hazard and cannot be visualized like any other weather hazard. Moreover, accurate prediction is also not possible. However, water balance technique enables to carry out drought analysis. It is a perfect tool to identify the years of drought, their frequencies, and intensities. To understand the vulnerability of each mandal of the district to droughts, drought analysis has been carried out. Index of aridity (i.e. the ratio between water deficit and water need of the area) is the key parameter used to identify the drought incidences. The analysis shows that all the representative stations of the district are prone to droughts. From the study, it is inferred that Guntur district has been prone to droughts/famines from time immemorial. The incidence of droughts is on the increase which was indicated through the analysis of decennial frequency. The overall drought proneness in all the mandals was above 40 percent. The Incidence of moderate droughts was high followed by severe and very severe and disaster type of droughts.

The people in the society should maintain their health which would help them to achieve progress. A Sound mind in sound body is the ancient maxim. All the social sciences are the offspring of the society. A healthy man/woman is responsible for good society which is taught by sociology. The healthy man or woman would become a good civilized whenever they have perfect body and mind. The medicines discovered may help the human beings to survive for a long time to lead the society. They would become leaders to run the government that means they would become good politicians with the sound mental health. The political science makes a man/woman good citizens only if they are in sound body and sound mind which would be possible only through the best discovery of medicine. Whenever healthy human beings are produced by the society with the help of useful medicine they can protect the earth planet from the environment pollution. With this they would become inventors of geography. All these disciplines would make a man or woman good citizens who maintain good health. Thus discovery of medicines may have their impact on human beings. Thus the human beings and medicines are interlinked to produce good society.
