A focused crawler aims at selectively seek out pages that are relevant to a pre-defined set of topics. Besides specifying topics by some keywords, it is customary also to use some exemplary documents to compute the similarity of a given web document to the topic. In this paper we introduce a new hybride focused crawler, which uses link structure of documents as well as similarity of pages to the topic to crawl the web

However, there are some different views on what a semantic search engine should do. In this paper, a categorization scheme for semantic web search engines are introduced and elaborated. For each category, its components are described according to a proposed general architecture and various approaches employed in these components are discussed. We also propose some factors to evaluate systems in each category.

Recommender systems are a solution to the information overload problems. In this paper a weblog recommender system based on link structure of weblog graph is introduced. Here we treat links between weblogs as some kind of rating, meaning that if there is a hyperlink from weblog A pointing to weblog B then blogger A prefers weblog B. Based on this assumption we have adapted almost all of famous recommendation techniques for Blogsphere. The methods are implemented on a real dataset and experiments show promising results.

A group of such measures are especially based on structural position of the entities in ontologies, the corresponding measures of which are named Structural Measures. This paper is about to present a new method for computing Structural Similarity, based on the notion of Information Content. The method employs various aspects of the structure of ontologies to recognize related entities. We evaluate the proposed measure using standard methods of Precision and Recall, as well as a new one based on Sensitivity Analysis from Data Mining. Evaluation results show superiority of proposed structural measure over the rest of the methods taking part in the presented tests.

In this paper we introduce Mahak, the first complete test collection generally available for evaluating Farsi information retrieval systems. We also discuss our construction process in detail. As a goal, we hope that Mahak will foster the development of Farsi information retrieval systems.

Social network analysis focuses on the analysis of patterns of relationships among people, organizations, states and such social entities. Social network analysis provides both a visual and a mathematical analysis of human relationships. Web can also be considered as a social network. Social networks are formed between Web pages by hyperlinking to other Web pages. In this paper a state of the art survey of the works done on social network analysis ranging from pure mathematical analyses in graphs to analyzing the social networks in Semantic Web is given. The main goal is to provide a road map for researchers working on different aspects of Social Network Analysis.

In fact weblogs are one kind of social networks and they are one of the most important components in Web 2.0. There are a lot of Persian bloggers on the Web. In this paper we have tried to collect their blogs, produce some general statistics about them and have prepared a test bed for further research on weblogs in general and Persianblogs specially.

In this paper a new hierarchical co-clustering for queries and URLs of a search engine log is introduced. In this method, firstly we construct a bipartite graph for queries and visited URLs, and then to discover noiseless clusters, all queries and related URLs are projected in a reduced dimensional space by applying singular value decomposition. Finally, all queries and URLs are iteratively clustered for constructing hierarchical categorization. The method has been evaluated using a real world data set and shows promising results.
