It is dedicated to raise awareness, educate and improve the understanding of HIV as a global public health problem. Today, HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) remains one of the largest pandemics in the world. HIV is the same virus that can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). Researchers found the earliest case of HIV in a blood sample of a man from the Democratic Republic of Congo. It’s said that the most common form of the virus spread from chimpanzees to humans sometime before 1931, most likely during “bush meat trading.” While hunting chimpanzees, hunters would have come in contact with animal blood Trusted Source. Before the 1980s, researchers estimate that about 100,000 to 300,000 people were infected with HIV. World Aids Day 2019 theme is “Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Community by Community. Acute rheumatic fever (RF), usually presenting in childhood, is considered to be the beginning of a preventable chronic disease causing a considerable adult disease burden. Morbidity from acute rheumatic fever (ARF) is directly proportional to the rate of streptococcal infections. Statistically, if someone in the home is infected, one out of every four other household members may get strep throat within two to seven days. Untreated strep throat can cause rheumatic fever but mothers are having lack of knowledge regarding rheumatic fever. The aim of study was to (1) To assess the Pre-test knowledge on prevention of rheumatic fever among mothers of children. (2) To assess the effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme on prevention of rheumatic fever among mothers of children. (3) To find out the association between Post-test knowledge on prevention of rheumatic fever among mothers of children and their selected demographic variables. Methods : A pre experimental pre-test-post-test research design was adopted. Non-probability convenient sampling technique was used with sample size of 80 mothers of children. Demographic scale and structured interview schedule were formulated to assess the effectiveness of structure teaching programme. Results : The overall scores in pre-test shows that 47(58.8%) had got inadequate knowledge (< 50%), 14 (17.4%) had moderate knowledge (50%-75%) and 19(23.8%) got adequate knowledge (>75%). In Post-test 19(23.8%) had moderate knowledge, 41(51.2%) got adequate knowledge and 20(25.0%) had inadequate knowledge. Pre and Posttest Mean percentages are 55.92 and 80.52 respectively. The Pre and Post-test Mean are 13.98,20.13 with SD 3.142, 2.812 respectively, with the Mean difference 6.150. The obtained 't' value is 14.066. As the calculated value for all the aspects are greater than the table value 2.00 required fot t-ratio to be significant at .05 level of confidence. Indicating that the structured teaching programme is effective in increasing the knowledge of mothers regarding rheumatic fever. The alarming increase in the number of mentally ill patients warrants urgent attention not only on curative aspect but also on preventive aspect. The factors like increasing population rate, industrialization, socio cultural changes and modernization precipitate increased stress and strain in everyday life. This is turn contributes to an increasing rate of mental health problems. It has been estimated that 85% to 95% of patients with mood disorder will suffer multiple recurrences of major depression and mania resulting in Revolving door syndrome. This throws light on the fact that the health care personnel have to prepare the mentally ill patients to function effectively in the community. Methodology : The modified conceptual frame work for the present study was based on General System Model by Von Bertalanffy (1968). Quasi experimental one group pretest posttest research design was adopted for the present study. The Structured Knowledge Questionnaire was developed to collect the data. Pilot study was conducted among 15 nurses in Jeevan Surgical Hospital Sawai Madhopur from 2/10/2017 to 9/10/2017 to find the feasibility of the study. The main study was conducted at Riya Hospital Sawai Madhopur from 9/12/2017 to 19/06/2018 among 150 nurses who were selected by using purposive sampling technique and the data collected was analyzed and interpreted based on descriptive and inferential statistics. Results : From the findings of the study it was clear that the mean post test knowledge score 32.52 with standard deviation of 6.07 was significantly higher than the mean pretest knowledge scores 15.97 with standard deviation of 3.19. There was significant association found between the pre test knowledge score of nurses with age, sex, marital status, professional qualification, position held, and exposure experience in caring ICU Psychosis patient at the level of p < 0.05. Conclusion : The present study attempted to assess the effectiveness of Self Instructional Module (SIM) on knowledge of nurses regarding management of ICU Psychosis and found that the developed SIM was effective in improving the knowledge of nurses regarding management of ICU Psychosis.

Tracheostomy allows earlier discharge of patients 6 from the ICU, thus allowing better management of limited ICU resources, and may be associated with reduced 7mortality. Material & Method : A pre experimental one group pre test & post test study with aim to assess the effectiveness of video assisted teaching module regarding tracheostomy care on knowledge of staff nurses at selected hospitals of Gwalior city was conducted and samples were selected by convenient sampling. Data were collected with help of structured knowledge questionnaire (SKQ). Results: Highly significant difference was found between the area wise and overall pre-test and post-test knowledge scores mean difference (14.16), but no significant association was found between the post-test knowledge scores when compared with the demographic variables of nurses (P>0.05). Conclusion: Tracheostomy care and management is more and more necessary in both the intensive care setting and the general ward. It is therefore ever more important that trained nurses are equipped with the appropriate skills, knowledge and support to meet the unique needs of each patient safely and competently.
