In recent years, many young people have gone overseas to study and live at least temporarily in new countries that maybe quite different to their homeland. The aim of this study was to determine the predictors of life satisfaction among Iranian undergraduate students studying at Malaysian private universities. A total of 361undergraduate students were identified as respondents of this study by using Multi-Stage random sampling technique. The results of the study showed that the Iranian undergraduate students were moderately satisfied with their overseas student life. Findings also showed that the results of multiple regression analyses indicated social support emerged as the strongest unique predictor of life satisfaction, followed by academic achievement, and adjustment. Findings revealed that 44.8% of the variability in life satisfaction could be predicted by social support, academic achievement, and adjustment. The results also indicated that social support significantly mediated the effect of loneliness on life satisfaction.

Some studies have shown that many indicators can affect students' life satisfaction. The aim of this study was to determine the predictors of life satisfaction among Iranian undergraduate students who are studying in Malaysian private universities. A total of 361 undergraduate students were identified as respondents of this study by using Multi-Stage random sampling technique. Data were collected through a survey technique using self-administered questionnaire. The results of the study showed that the Iranian undergraduate students were moderately satisfied with their life while social support, adjustment, academic achievement, and parent's income were positively related with life satisfaction. Finding also showed that there was a negative correlation between loneliness and life satisfaction. Independent t-test revealed that there was no significant difference in life satisfaction among male and female Iranian undergraduates. Furthermore, the results of the multiple regression analyses indicated social support emerged as the strongest unique predictor of life satisfaction, followed by academic achievement, and adjustment. The findings revealed that 44.8% of the variability in life satisfaction could be predicted by social support, academic achievement, and adjustment. The results also indicated that social support significantly mediated the effect of loneliness on life satisfaction.

Young people in developing countries are spending more of their adolescence in school than ever before. A number of studies have found that the needs of youth are changing from being a transition to a highly valued period in its own right. In this way, youth life functions require modern development and traditional educational perspective cannot cover their demands. Therefore, youth is engaged in understanding the links between changes and responses with a focus on the relation between social integration and individualization. This paper is a part of a quantitative research that studied the differential affects of youth needs in the process of information age in public and private high schools in Tehran, Iran. The sample was restricted to girls’ adolescents ages 15–18. The findings show that how a new analysis of the relation between youth, modernization and competence can influence the general understanding and educational developmental from youth perspectives when many of them know perfectly well where they are, but their parents, teachers and principals don’t aware about that. The paper ends with a guide for planning and conducting some activities in order to facilitate youth needs in the process of information age.
