Potassium Lanthanoid Carbonates, KLn(CO 3) 2 (Ln: Nd, Gd, Dy, Ho, Yb).-The structures of the titl... more Potassium Lanthanoid Carbonates, KLn(CO 3) 2 (Ln: Nd, Gd, Dy, Ho, Yb).-The structures of the title compounds are reinvestigated from single crystals prepared by reaction of K 2 CO 3 and LnCl 3 •xH 2 O with CO 2 and H 2 O within 4 weeks at 450 • C in steel autoclaves. As revealed from the single-crystal XRD data, KNd(CO 3) 2 (orthorhombic, Pmn2 1 , Z = 4) consists of corrugated [Nd(CO 3)] layers of [Nd-µ 1-(CO 3) 3-µ 2 (CO 3) 3 ] polyhedra which are connected through further carbonate groups and K + ion, thus forming a three-dimensional framework. In KDy(CO 3) 2 (monoclinic, C2/c, Z = 4) and the isotypic compounds with Ln: Gd, Ho, Yb "syndiotactic" zigzag chains of [Dy-µ 1-(CO 3) 4-µ 2-(CO 3) 2 ] and [K-µ 1-(CO 3) 6 ] polyhedra are further linked through O-ligator atoms of the carbonate ligand.-(KUTLU, I.;

The anhydrous rubidium tetraacetato lanthanate, RbLa(CH 3 COO) 4 , is obtained together with Rb 2... more The anhydrous rubidium tetraacetato lanthanate, RbLa(CH 3 COO) 4 , is obtained together with Rb 2 La(CH 3 COO) 5 (H 2 O) as colourless single crystals from a 1 : 2 mixture of Rb 2 CO 3 and La(CH 3 COO)´1.5 H 2 O in acetic acid by slow evaporation. The crystal structure [orthorhombic, Pnnm, Z = 2, a = 1242.0(3), b = 1650.1(4), c = 698.0(4) pm, R = 0.028, R w = 0.071] contains La 3+ nine coordinate by oxygen atoms of six acetate ligands. The polyhedra are connected to dimers and further to double chains running parallel to [001]. These [La(CH 3 COO) 4 ] ± double chains are surrounded by four like double chains and connected by Rb + ions that are seven coordinate by oxygen atoms.

Der Einsatz durch thermisches Schrumpfen gefugter keramischer Segmente in Schmiedewerkzeugen wird... more Der Einsatz durch thermisches Schrumpfen gefugter keramischer Segmente in Schmiedewerkzeugen wird seit einiger Zeit untersucht und erfolgreich an Modellgesenken erprobt. Hier zeigt sich die Gefahr der thermischen Aufweitung des Schrumpfverbandes als Hauptproblem bei Schmiedegesenken mit eingeschrumpften keramischen Segmenten. Weiterhin lassen sich nur rotationssymmetrische keramische Segmente einschrumpfen, was eine erhebliche Einschrankung der Gestaltungsmoglichkeiten in der Werkzeugkonstruktion bedeutet. Deutlich grosere Gestaltungsmoglichkeiten bietet das Aktivloten keramischer Segmente in Gesenkgrundkorper. Hierfur sollen aktivgelotete Keramik-Metall-Verbunde entwickelt und auf Einsatzfahigkeit im Schmiedeprozess uberpruft werden. Active brazing of ceramic inlays for the application in wear critical areas of forging dies The use of reinforcing ceramic segments in forging tools is investigated and has been successfully tested with model of dies recently. With reinforcing ceramic segments, however, the thermal widening of the steel tool is a major problem for forging dies. Further, only rotationally symmetrical ceramic inserts can be used as reinforcements which restricts the shape capabilities in tool design significantly. A considerably greater design flexibility is possible if the ceramic segments are brazed into the die body material. To this end, reactively brazed ceramic-metal composites are to be developed and tested for feasibility in the forging process.

ABSTRACT The reaction of the iron metalate [Fe{Si(OMe)3}(CO)3(dppm-P)]− (1b) with [Ru(CO)3Cl(μ-Cl... more ABSTRACT The reaction of the iron metalate [Fe{Si(OMe)3}(CO)3(dppm-P)]− (1b) with [Ru(CO)3Cl(μ-Cl)]2 afforded the heterodinuclear complex [(OC)3{(MeO)3Si}Fe(μ-dppm)Ru(CO)3Cl)] (Fe–Ru) (3) in which a long Fe–Ru separation of 2.956(1) has been crystallographically evidenced. It was shown by density functional theory (DFT) calculations to correspond to the minimum-energy structure. Upon treatment of the corresponding hydrido complex [HFe{Si(OMe)3}(CO)3(dppm-P)] (1a) with [Ru(CO)3Cl(μ-Cl)]2, the chloride-bridged tetranuclear hydrido complex [(OC)3{(MeO)3Si}Fe(H)(μ-dppm)Ru(CO)2Cl(μ-Cl)]2 (4) was formed in which the Fe and Ru centers are only linked via bridging dppm ligands.
