First, we design a BCAVSA using several sets of cylindrical acoustic vector-sensor arrays (AVSAs), which are used as a guide to construct the constant beamwidth beamformer. Due to the mechanical coupling system of the Ormia ochracea’s two ears, the phase and amplitude differences of acoustic signals at the bilateral tympanal membranes are magnified. To obtain a virtual BCAVSA with larger interelement distances, we then extend the coupling magnified system into the BCAVSA by deriving the expression of the coupling magnified matrix for the BCAVSA and providing the selecting method of coupled parameters for fitting the underwater signal frequency. Finally, the frequency invariant beamforming method is developed to acquire the constant beamwidth pattern in the three-di...

On the other hand, the decision of the Constitutional Court and the Revision of the KPK Law are placed as executive institutions. In fact, the position of the environment has not been seated as a legal subject, and there is an absence of constitutional obligations for central government and local government and corporations and citizens, to protect the environment as a legal subject. Although Indonesia is very rich in natural resources, there are no provisions for constitutional procedures, such as constitutional complaint or suite action, and constitutional questions, to carry out environmental protection and the protection of environmental rights in constitutional courts or the supreme court. This study aims to explore the commitment of the State in its supreme law of constitution to carry out eco-constitutional reform agenda as the supreme action of the law to realize the ecocracy constitution as the new paradigm of environmental sovereignty. The results show that some countries have strengthened the position of living environments as a legal subject and placed it in their constitutions. However, if compared to the constitution of other countries, Indonesia's current constitution is very far behind the idea of eco-constitutionalism or ecocracy, such as the constitutions of Ecuador, Bolivia, Switzerland, Egypt, and France which explicitly supports the environment, like water, mountains, sea, rivers, forests, animals, as subjects of law and the State, corporation, and citizens are obliged to protect them.

This represents an improvement of 49-63% over Least Recently Used, the most commonly implemented policy. We achieve this not by designing a specific new policy but by using on-line Machine Learning algorithms to dynamically shift between the standard policies based on their observed miss rates. A thorough experimental evaluation of our techniques is given, as well as a discussion of what makes caching an interesting on-line learning problem.

As a result, latency and bandwidth to needed data is limited by the performance of the storage devices and the networks that connect them to the CPU. Distributed caching techniques are often used to reduce the penalties associated with such caching; however, such techniques need further development to be truly integrated into the network. This paper describes the preliminary design of an adaptive caching scheme using multiple experts, called ACME. ACME is used to manage the replacement policies within distributed caches to further improve the hit rates over static caching techniques. We propose the use of machine learning algorithms to rate and select the current best policies or mixtures of policies via weight updates based on their recent success, allowing each adaptive cache node to tune itself based on the workload it observes. Since no cache databases or synchronization messages are exchanged for adaptivity, the clusters composed of these nodes will be scalable and manageable. We show that static techniques are suboptimal when combined in networks of caches, providing potential for adaptivity to improve performance.

The trend in cache design research is towards finding the single optimum replacement policy that ... more The trend in cache design research is towards finding the single optimum replacement policy that performs better than any other proposed policy by using all the useful criteria at once. However, due to the variety of workloads and system topologies it is daunting, if not impossible, to summarize all this information into one magical value using any static formula. We propose a workload and topology adaptive cache management algorithm to address this problem. Based on proven machine learning techniques, this algorithm uses a weighted voting mechanism guided by a pool of cache replacement policies. Objects that collect the highest total vote from all policies stay in the cache. The policies that predict the workload well are rewarded by an increase in their weight and the policies that lead to wrong decisions are punished by a decrease in their weight. Weight adjustments of the replacement policies, or caching experts, are managed by extremely powerful but computationally simple machine learning algorithms. Our scheme is different from hybrid criteria schemes and parti-tioned cache management policies because it is adaptive, and because it favors objects that are rated highly by many policies rather than simply favoring objects with high weight by a single, possibly complex policy.

The prospective signer should learn specific hand gestures in coordination with head motion, facial expression and body posture. Since language learning can only advance with continuous practice and corrective feedback, we have developed an interactive system, called SignTutor, which automatically evaluates users' signing and gives multimodal feedbacks to guide them to improve their signing. SignTutor allows users to practice instructed signs and to receive feedback on their performance. The system automatically evaluates sign instances by multimodal analysis of the hand and head gestures. The time and gestural variations among different articulations of the signs are mitigated by the use of hidden Markov models. The multimodal user feedback consists of a text-based information on the sign, and a synthesized version of the sign on an avatar as a visual feedback.. We have observed that the system has a very satisfactory performance, especially in the signer -dependent mode, and that the user experience is very positive.

In this study, we have implemented a multi-resolution Active Shape Model (MR-ASM) tracker, which tracks 116 facial landmarks on videos. Since the expressions involve significant amount of head rotation, we employ multiple ASM models to deal with different poses. The tracked landmark points are used to extract motion features which are used by a Support Vector Machine (SVM) based classifier. We obtained above 90% classification accuracy in a data set containing 7 expressions.

These recordings present an excellent source for automatically generating annotated data: In news for the hearing impaired, the speaker also signs with the hands as she talks. On top of this, there is also corresponding sliding text superimposed on the video. The video of the signer can be segmented via the help of either the speech or both the speech and the text, generating segmented, and annotated sign videos. We call this application as Signiary, and aim to use it as a sign dictionary where the users enter a word as text and retrieves sign videos of the related sign. This application can also be used to automatically create annotated sign databases that can be used for training recognizers.
