Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plays an imperative role for the growth of the business sector an... more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plays an imperative role for the growth of the business sector and contributes to a significant level towards economic growth. It facilitates flow of funds towards poor and developing countries to establish business units, to raise their production capacity and to offer ample employment opportunities to unemployed youth, to raise labor skills by transfer of technology and managerial know-how, thereby FDI tries to assimilate domestic economy with the global economy. But because of COVID-19, there is a massive setback for various countries in attracting FDI, India is not an exception to it. The present study tries to critically analyze the impact of ongoing pandemic on FDI inflows in India. Thus, an attempt has been made in this study to ascertain the impact of COVID-19 on FDI in India and make recommendations to attract more FDI.

The automobile industry has emerged as sunrise sector in the Indian economy. It embarked a new jo... more The automobile industry has emerged as sunrise sector in the Indian economy. It embarked a new journey in 1991 with de-licensing of the sector and subsequently opening up for 100% FDI through the automatic route. The industry produced a total 25,316,044 vehicles including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, three wheelers, two wheelers and quadricycle in April-March 2017 as against 24,016,599 in April-March 2016, registering a growth of 5.41 percent over the same period last year. Therefore, automobile companies have been selected for this study in order to determine their profitability during the study period. A firm’s Profitability is determined by leverage, size, age, working capital, assets turnover ratio etc. Data required for the study is Secondary in nature. The secondary data have been collected from the Capitaline database from 2008-2017 for the select Motor Cycle companies. More rural entrepreneurs promote business but only a few can sustain in their business. A major portion of rural entrepreneurs closed their business units due to lack of finance, marketing knowledge, etc. The result of the study disclosed that economic, general and social are the major problems faced by rural entrepreneurs in Central Districts of Tamil Nadu.

Investors consider dividend and market price of shares as important signals before making investm... more Investors consider dividend and market price of shares as important signals before making investments and the rate of dividend acts as one of the factors that determine the price of shares. Hence, finance managers and boards of management are to be more cautious before finalizing the rate of dividends. While fixing a dividend rate that may satisfy equity shareholders they should also see to it that sufficient funds are retained by companies for their future growth. The present study is carried out with the objective of finding out the factors that influence the dividend policy of select cement and steel companies in India. The result of regression reveals that the rate of dividend per share in the previous year, current ratio, sales growth, leverage, age of the company and reserves significantly influence dividend declaration.

The purpose of this study is to examine the long-term association between banks’ performance and the economic growth of a developing economy: India. The study used a panel of data of 20 public sector banks for the period 2009 to 2019. It applied the Pedroni and Kao test of co-integration, panel vector error correction model (VECM) dynamic, panel fully-modified ordinary least squires OLS (FMOLS), and dynamic OLS (DOLS) to estimate the relationship of interest margin return on assets, bank investment, and lending capacity of the bank with gross domestic product (GDP) of the country. The identification and incorporation of these bank-related variables are the innovations of this study. The results indicate that the bank-related variables are co-integrated with economic growth.
