Diagnosis based on morphology alone is challenging in poorly differentiated carcinomas and core biopsies. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) helps in specifying the lineage for the subtype of NSCC. Till date, p63 is the most frequently used and sensitive marker for squamous cell carcinoma (SQCC). However, it is not specific and stains a subset of adenocarcinoma (ADC). Thus, a more reliable and specific marker is required for the diagnosis of SQCC.The objective of the study was to validate the diagnostic utility of p40 over p63 in differentiating pulmonary SQCC from ADC and NSCC-not otherwise specified (NOS).A total of 123 cases of NSCC were initially reviewed and subtyped blinded to the results of IHC. This was followed by a review of IHC slides which included p63, p40, thyroid transcription factor 1, Napsin-A, cytokeratin (CK) 5/6, and CK7.There were 64 ADC, 19 SQCC,...

The cantilever beam is used as a source of vibration for power generation. MEMS sensor placed on the beam will convert the mechanical energy generated from the movement of the beam into electrical energy. The output of MEMS is given to the ADC for analog to digital conversion and then to microcontroller in order to monitor the value of energy generated. The obtained energy is boosted up using a DC-DC booster. The output of the DC-DC booster is stored in a storage device. The obtained energy is used to power the low power electronic devices and wireless sensor nodes in industries. The voltage control is provided by the microcontroller.

The global automotive industry is faced with the task of reducing global greenhouse gas emissions... more The global automotive industry is faced with the task of reducing global greenhouse gas emissions generated by vehicle exhaust. Heavy machinery like trucks, trailers, off-road vehicles, etc. powered by the diesel engines. These vehicles emit large quantities of NOx and smoke emissions. The simultaneous reduction of both emissions is the key challenge for the automotive industry. Burning a homogeneous charge at relatively low temperature seems to be the means to control both the emissions simultaneously. In this experimental study, the combustion, performance and emissions characteristics of a premixed charge compression Ignition Engine (PCCI) with ethanol injected in the intake manifold of the engine along with biodiesel (Palm oil methyl ester) injected directly into the combustion chamber. The experiments were carried out in a four-stroke, single cylinder vertical water cooled, constant speed diesel engine with the range of 10- 30% premixed ethanol fuel from no load to full load co...

Patients and Methods: A total number of 204 consecutive cases of fiberoptic bronchoscopic-guided endobronchial biopsies was analyzed. The bronchial wash (BW) samples collected simultaneously during the biopsy were correlated with final histopathology diagnosis. Results: The bronchoscopic findings mainly included endobronchial mass, increased mucosal vascularity, and mucosal irregularities. Of the 184 adequate biopsy samples, 32.3% were neoplastic, 20.5% nonneoplastic, and remaining 41.3% revealed normal histology. The nonneoplastic lesions included mainly nonspecific inflammation, granulomatous inflammation followed by few cases of squamous metaplasia, one case each of tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica, mycobacterium spindle cell pseudotumor, and cytomegalovirus infection. Among the malignant tumors, adenocarcinoma (ADC) was the most common followed by squamous cell carcinoma (SQCC) and non-small cell carcinoma-not otherwise specified. On immunohistochemistry, Napsin-A showed better sensitivity than thyroid transcription factor-1 for ADC. P40 was found to be most sensitive and specific markers for SQCC. Neuroendocrine tumors included seven small cell carcinoma and three carcinoids. Both chromogranin and synaptophysin were found to be equally sensitive neuroendocrine markers. The bronchoscopically normal airways mostly revealed normal histology with few showing mild nonspecific inflammation. On the contrary, all except one case of neoplasm had mass lesions on bronchoscopy. Conclusion: EBB provides sufficient tissue for morphological and immunohistochemical characterization of malignant lesions. BW cytology has poor concordance with EBB in the diagnosis of malignancies with nearly 70% cases being false negative.

This paper gives the theoretical idea about energy recovery method from unused heat energy produc... more This paper gives the theoretical idea about energy recovery method from unused heat energy produced by internal combustion engine(IC engine) and electrical motors in hybrid electrical vehicles (HEV). This heat energy converts again into electrical energy to charge the separate battery source for auxiliary loads like headlights, indicators, air-conditioners, mobile adapters, and self-ignition of the electrical vehicle (EV). These loads consumes approximately 500watts of energy according to their utilization, this rating is around 5-15% of overall electrical vehicle’s (EV) capacity. This paper describes about the conversion of unused heat energy into electric energy by using Peltier Panel for auxiliary load applications while hybrid electrical vehicle (HEV) is running. This method increases the efficiency of electric motors at the same time increases the kilometres per charge of electrical vehicle (EV).

Abstract Partially pre-blended compression ignition engine reduces the discharge of oxides of nit... more Abstract Partially pre-blended compression ignition engine reduces the discharge of oxides of nitrogen and soot. The aim of this research is to study the combustion and emission parameters of hybrid mode compression ignition (HBMCI) at different hybrid ratios. In this system, the percentage of fuel is introduced in the intake manifold is varied according to hybrid ratios. The remaining part of the fuel is injected straight into combustion chamber prior to the end of the compression stroke to trigger the combustion event. The pre-blended charge is burnt in the cylinder along with the fuel directly injected into the cylinder by a conventional injection system. The brake thermal efficiency at rated power output in Hybrid Mode Diesel-JOME (HBMDJ Mode) is observed from 26.8% to 21.6% and in Hybrid Mode Diesel-FOME (HBMDF Mode) is observed from 26.4% to 21.4%, when the hybrid ratio changed from 0.25 to 0.75, compared to 28.4% in diesel mode. The hybrid ratio of 0.25 is observed to be optimum in both HBMDJ and HBMDF. At this hybrid ratio, decrease in brake thermal efficiency is marginal compared to diesel mode. Significant reduction in soot emission is also found than that of diesel mode. From the above investigation, it can be seen than HBMDJ mode was better than HBMDF mode by comparing the performance, combustion and emission characteristics.

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2020

Rapid depletion of fossil fuel and increased demand for petroleum products in energy and transpor... more Rapid depletion of fossil fuel and increased demand for petroleum products in energy and transportation sector motivated the researchers to find a substitution for petroleum diesel. Biodiesel is one among the alternate to this crisis. Biodiesel is a combined mixture of fatty acid alkyl esters obtained by the reaction of triglycerides of vegetable or animal origin with alcohol in the presence of a catalyst. The fatty acid profile influences the overall properties of the biodiesel. The properties of individual fatty acid depend on the occurrence of double bonds, fatty acid chain length and branching. Better understanding of the fatty acid composition and correlating the fuel properties is of utmost importance in improving the optimal performance. In the present study, feedstocks of Cymbopogon citratus, Pinus sylvestris and Syzygium cumini is analysed for its fatty acid composition study using Gas Chromatography assisted with mass spectrometry. Based on GC-MS Analysis, fifteen types of fatty acids in Cymbopogon citratus, Pinus sylvestris and Syzygium cumini oil methyl esters were analysed and defined; all these esters are amalgamations of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. The variation in fatty acid compositions affects the properties of the esters. GC-MS synthesis showed that methyl, ethyl esters free from dirt for the three feedstocks. Few impurities like mainly mono-, di-and triglycerides were found.
