People with open minded will always try to seek for the new things and information from many sources. On the contrary, people with closed mind will always think that they can do it by their principals. So, what kind of person are you?

Hans Makart, after whom the period was named, became a national icon in Austria-a rock star of the art world whose paintings, interior design, theatrical sets and costumes were celebrated as much for their style as for the status they exemplified. This catalogue to an exhibit of Makart's works includes his legendary room in the Palais Dumba, his monumental paintings, and his controversial and subversive erotic works. The large-scale theatric quality of Makart's work is evident in the stunning reproductions featured in the book, which allow viewers to appreciate the brilliant palette of his oeuvre.

T... more Background: Lisfranc injuries are fractures and dislocations involving tarso metatarsal joints. They account for about 0.1% to 0.4% of all fractures. Most of these fractures are missed inspite of improved investigative modalities, especially in the settings of polytrauma. Delay in treatment of these injuries lead to painful secondary deformities and impaired function. Aim: To evaluate the functional outcome following early open reduction and internal fixation of Lisfranc injuries and to emphasise different radiological parameters to diagnose the Lisfranc injuries Methods and Methodology: 10 cases of Lisfranc injuries over a period of six months were considered. They were treated with open reduction and internal fixation within one week. They were followed up for 3 months and their functional outcome was noted using AOFAS midfoot scores. Results: Using the radiological parameters, Lisfranc injury was diagnosed in these patients accurately and their post operative functional outcome was calculated. There was consistent improvement in their scores. Conclusion: Identifying the Lisfranc injury and early intervention with open reduction and internal fixation helps in achieving better functional outcome in patients with Lisfranc injuries.

Examining Kafka’s relationship to visuality, the book explores the diversity of images that surrounded Kafka in his home city of Prague—a heterogeneous and multilingual metropolis whose visual environment shaped his everyday experiences. It maps how Kafka engaged with local painting and sculpture, architecture, and monuments, and also with an array of popular visual media and phenomena from illustrated magazines and advertising to film, photography, dance, and cabaret. Kafka’s attention to the modern visual culture of his era was reflected in his writings and in his interest in drawing, a practice in which he received preliminary training and which he took up in his free time during his years as a university student. The monograph is published on the occasion of the centennial of Kafka's death and in association with the exhibition Through the Eyes of Franz Kafka: Between Image and Language at the Gallery of West Bohemia in Pilsen (5 June–28 October 2024). It is also available in a Czech edition edited by Marie Rakušanová. The book is available for pre-order in North America through Distributed Art Publishers: https://www.artbook.com/9788074374265.html
