Υπό αυτό το πρίσμα τα χειρουργεία ως το τμήμα των νοσοκομείων με το μεγαλύτερο προϋπολογισμό, υποχρεώνονται σε εφαρμογή πρακτικών διαχείρισης και μάνατζμεντ με στόχο τη βελτιστοποίηση της παροχής διεγχειρητικής φροντίδας. Σκοπός: Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης είναι η διερεύνηση της σκοπιμότητας εφαρμογής του Συντονιστή Χειρουργείου (ΣΧ) στα ελληνικά νοσοκομεία καθώς και το πλαίσιο εργασίας του με τον εντοπισμό τόσο των αρμοδιοτήτων του όσο και των ικανοτήτων, δεξιοτήτων και γνώσεων που θα πρέπει να διαθέτει.Υλικό – Μέθοδος: Αρχικά και μετά από πολύμηνη βιβλιογραφική έρευνα δομήθηκε ερωτηματολόγιο και διενεργήθηκε πιλοτικός έλεγχος για να εξεταστεί η εγκυρότητα και αξιοπιστία του. Operating rooms, with the biggest account of a hospital’s total revenues, should be more active in applying management practices which are adequate for the optimization of surgical care.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of implementation of the role of OR manager into Greek hospitals and the context of job description by identifying appropriate skills and knowledge. Material and Methods: Initially and after bibliographic research a questionnaire was created and its validity and reliability was tested by conducting a pilot study. Περίληψη Εισαγωγή: Η ποιότητα των παρεχόμενων υπηρεσιών υγείας αποτελεί πολύ σημαντικό παράγοντα ... more Περίληψη Εισαγωγή: Η ποιότητα των παρεχόμενων υπηρεσιών υγείας αποτελεί πολύ σημαντικό παράγοντα για ένα σύστημα υγείας.Σκοπός: Ο σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας ήταν η αποτύπωση του βαθμού ικανοποίησης των ασθενών από τις παρεχόμενες υπηρεσίες υγείας σε δομές Π.Φ.Υ του Δήμου Πατρέων.Υλικό και Μέθοδος: Τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας προήλθαν από ασθενείς οι οποίοι επισκέφθηκαν τα Κέντρα Υγείας και τα Το.Μ.Υ. και διαμένουν στο Δήμο Πατρέων. Για τη συλλογή των δεδομένων χρησιμοποιήθηκε το ερωτηματολόγιο Europep και η στατιστική ανάλυση έγινε με το στατιστικό πρόγραμμα SPSS-έκδοση 25.Αποτελέσματα: Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν, 41 άνδρες (42,7%) και 55 γυναίκες (57,3%). Το 40% του δείγματος άνηκε στην ηλικιακή ομάδα 30-39 έτη. Το 42,7% του δείγματος επισκέφτηκε τον ιατρό Γενικής Ιατρικής 2 φορές το τελευταίο χρόνο. Το 53,1% χαρακτήρισε την υγεία του ως «πολύ καλή». Επίσης το 67% του δείγματος έχει Ανώτερη ή Ανώτατη εκπαίδευση και το 66,7% δήλωσε ότι δεν αντιμετώπισε ασθένεια με διάρκεια άνω των 3 μηνών. Η κλίμακα του ερωτηματολογίου που εμφάνισε την θετικότερη εκτίμηση του δείγματος ήταν αυτή που αφορά τη τελική γνώμη για τον ιατρό Γενικής Ιατρικής, ενώ αυτή που κατέγραψε τη χαμηλότερη εκτίμηση ήταν η κλίμακα που αφορά το συντονισμό της φροντίδας του ασθενή. Από τον έλεγχο της έντασης και τη σχέσης μεταξύ των 6 κλιμάκων του ερωτηματολογίου προέκυψε ότι αυτές συσχετίζονται μεταξύ τους σε θετικό και ισχυρό βαθμό, σε στατιστικά σημαντικό επίπεδο. Οι συσχετίσεις των δημογραφικών και κοινωνικών χαρακτηριστικών του δείγματος με τις κλίμακες του ερωτηματολογίου δεν έδειξαν κάποιο στατιστικά σημαντικό αποτέλεσμα, ενώ επιμέρους στατιστικοί έλεγχοι έδειξαν ότι η εκτιμώμενη κατάσταση υγείας έχει μεγάλο αντίκτυπο για την αποτίμηση των πληροφοριών και υποστήριξης του ασθενή.Συμπεράσματα: Η Π.Φ.Υ. είναι από τους βασικότερους πυλώνες του συστήματος υγείας μιας χώρας για αυτό πρέπει να αντιμετωπίζεται με τη δέουσα προσοχή από τους ιθύνοντες χάραξης πολιτικής. Η ανάγκη για αναπροσαρμογή της είναι επιτακτική. Η οικονομική κρίση που βιώνει η χώρα μας δεν βοηθά, για αυτό θα πρέπει να χρησιμοποιηθούν άλλα μέσα που δεν απαιτούν υψηλό κόστος και θα την οδηγήσουν στην ανάπτυξη της. Η καθολική εισαγωγή του συστήματος της Διοίκησης Ολικής Ποιότητας και η ανθρωποκεντρική προσέγγιση των ασθενών από το προσωπικό που εργάζεται στις δομές Π.Φ.Υ. είναι κάποιες επιλογές που θα οδηγήσουν σε αποδοτικότερες υπηρεσίες Π.Φ.Υ.

The surgery is perhaps the most demanding functional part of the hospital with an extremely compl... more The surgery is perhaps the most demanding functional part of the hospital with an extremely complex environment. It is an extremely complex area, both because of the new technology, as well as the staff and eventually its organization. The operating room is a working environment with special conditions where employees have many risks. These may include exposure to chemicals (mainly antiseptics - disinfectants, anesthesia gases), exposure to biological hazards (management of contaminated waste, sharps management), exposure to electrical risks from the use of different machinery, exposure to ergonomic risks, Manual handling of loads, and handling of patients). In the operating room, accident prevention programs should always be implemented and precautions should be taken to avoid exposure to blood-borne diseases, proper management of hazardous contaminated waste, proper management of disinfectants, and ergonomic management of their work.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was the translation and validation of Nurse Manager Questionnaire. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The survey was conducted from December 2010 to February 2011 using a convenience sample of 153 Greek Operating Room Nurses, working in military and political (public and private) hospitals in Athens, Thessaloniki and Thessaly. Nurse Manager Questionnaire was used which was comprising by 53 skills separated in two columns one for knowledge and understanding, and one for ability to implement and/or use. 53 skills were rated depending on how essential those skills were for OR nurse manager. Introduction: Operating room (OR) is a high-tense working environment from one hand but it is als... more Introduction: Operating room (OR) is a high-tense working environment from one hand but it is also a place where team work is needed and expected to be done. Good working relationships in operating room field are necessary in order safety and high quality of healthcare to be the standard of everyday practice. Verbal abuse is a common phenomenon that takes place between healthcare professionals and more often between physicians and nurses. Aim of the study: To determine the problem of verbal abuse in Greek Operating Rooms and to investigate its causative factors. Methodology: The study was conducted as a descriptive correlational design. The research population was composed of the nurses working in ORs of hospitals in Greece. 65 OR Registered nurses answered the questionnaire which was sent to them in electronic way (link). Results: The mean age of the nurses was 41.4 ± 6.83 years .OR nurses who participated in the research have been working for a mean period of 12.7 ± 7.82 years. The most of the nurses (92.4%) stated that they have been experienced verbal abuse in the workplace. The participants in 56.9% said they have taken some kind of formal training in communication skills. 1/3 of the sample (35.4%) who took part in this study were victims of verbal violence more than once a year and also roughly the same percentage (27.7%) believes that nurses confronted with verbal violence more than once weekly. The relationship between abuser and victim as a large percentage of 23.1% specify was a "physician". OR nurses experience frequent and severe levels of verbal abuse. Conclusion: This study's findings indicated that the most common emotional reactions toward verbal abuse reported by OR nurses was anger followed by disgust, sadness and shock. It is imperative that OR nurses obtain special training in the recognition, management and development of strategies to deal with verbal abuse.

MATERIAL AND METHOD: This survey involved the 163 nursing students of Greek Military Nursing Academy who completed the Death Attitude Profile–Revised scale (DAP-R) and a demographic questionnaire, voluntarily and anonymously. The Death Attitude Profile–Revised (DAP-R) (Wong, Reker, & Gesser, 1994) is a 32-item scale that uses a seven-point Likert scale to measure respondents‟ attitudes toward death. Aim of the study: To determine the problem of verbal abuse in Greek Operating Rooms and to investigate its causative factors. Methodology: The study was conducted as a descriptive correlational design. The research population was composed of the nurses working in ORs of hospitals in Greece. 65 OR Registered nurses answered the questionnaire which was sent to them in electronic way (link). Results: The mean age of the nurses was 41.4 ± 6.83 years .OR nurses who participated in the research have been working for a mean period of 12.7 ± 7.82 years. The most of the nurses (92.4%) stated that they have been experienced verbal abuse in the workplace. The participants in 56.9% said they have taken some kind of formal training in communication skills. 1/3 of the sample (35.4%) who took part in this study were victims of verbal violence more than once a year and also roughly the same percentage (27.7%) believes that nurses confronted with verbal violence more than once weekly. The relationship between abuser and victim as a large percentage of 23.1% specify was a "physician". OR nurses experience frequent and severe levels of verbal abuse. Conclusion: This study's findings indicated that the most common emotional reactions toward verbal abuse reported by OR nurses was anger followed by disgust, sadness and shock. It is imperative that OR nurses obtain special training in the recognition, management and development of strategies to deal with verbal abuse.
