Contextuality is proven either by a logical contradiction between the noncontextuality hidden variable predictions and those of quantum mechanics or by the violation of noncontextual inequality. We propose an experimental scheme of state-independent contextual inequality derived from the Mermin proof of the Kochen–Specker (KS) theorem in eight-dimensional Hilbert space, which could be observed either in an individual system or in a composite system. We also show how to resolve the compatibility problems. Our scheme can be implemented in optical systems with current experiment techniques.

In recent years, small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) secreted from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been shown great potential in alleviating IDD. However, in vitro experiments, MSCs are usually exposed to a normoxic micro-environment, which differs greatly from the hypoxic micro-environment in vivo. The primary purpose of our research was to determine whether sEVs isolated from MSCs under hypoxic status (H-sEVs) exhibit a more beneficial effect on protecting IDD compared with sEVs derived from MSCs under normoxic status (N-sEVs). A tail IDD rat model and a series of experiments in vitro were conducted to compare the beneficial effects of PBS, N-sEVs, and H-sEVs treatment. Then, to validate the role of sEVs miRNAs in IDD, a miRNA microarray sequencing analysis and a series of rescue experiments were conducted. Luciferase activity, RNA-ChIP and western blot were performed to explore the potential mechanisms. The results indicate that sEVs alleviate IDD by ameliorating the homeostatic imbalance between anabolism and catabolism in vivo and in vitro. Microarray sequencing result shows that miR-17-5p is maximally enriched in H-sEVs. Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) was determined to be a target downstream gene of miR-17-5p. Finally, it was found that H-sEVs miR-17-5p may modulate proliferation and synthesis of human nucleus pulposus cells (HNPCs) matrix via TLR4 pathway. In conclusion, H-sEVs miR-17-5p alleviate IDD via promoting HNPCs matrix proliferation and synthesis, providing new therapeutic targets for IDD. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: : Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is the primary cause of low back pain (LBP), which is a huge burden to society. Our research demonstrates for the first time that hypoxic pretreatment of small extracellular vesicles (H-sEVs) effectively alleviated the progress of IDD. In short, in the present research, we found that H-sEVs miR-17-5p could modulate proliferation and synthesis of nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs) matrix via TLR4/PI3K/AKT pathway. Therefore, hypoxic pre-treatment is a prospective and efficient method to optimize the therapeutic effect of MSCs-derived sEVs. miRNA and MSCs-derived sEVs combination may be a promising therapeutic approach for IDD.

The bioassay results suggested the knockout ofPxRdl2significantly increased the insecticidal activities of theγ-aminobutyric acid receptor (GABAR) targeting compounds (Fipronil, two pyrazoloquinazolines and two isoxazolines), thereby presenting a viable target gene for RNAi-mediated pest control. Consequently, we suggest enhancing the insecticidal activities of GABAR-targeting compounds by knockdown the transcript level ofPxRdl2. Furthermore,PxRdl2dsRNA was expressed in HT115Escherichia colito reduce costs and protect dsRNA against degradation. In comparison toin vitrosynthesized dsRNA, the recombinant bacteria (ds-B) exhibited superior interference efficiencies and greater stability when exposed to UV irradiation. Collectively, our results provide a new strategy of insecticide spray which combined synergistically with insecticidal activities by suppressingPxRdl2using ds-B, and may be benefi...

We find the analytical expressions of the first two moments of the walker’s position distribution in the long-time limit, which indicates that the variance of the position distribution grows quadratically with walking steps, showing a ballistic spreading typically for quantum walks. Besides, we analyze the correlation by calculating the quantum mutual information and the measurement-induced disturbance respectively as the outcome of the walk in one dimension is correlated to the other with the coin as a bridge. It is shown that the quantum correlation between walker spaces increases gradually with the walking steps.

Some insect species, such as the diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella), possess more than one Rdl gene. The involvement of multiple Rdls in fipronil toxicity and resistance remain largely unknown. In this study, we investigated the roles of two Rdl genes, PxRdl1 and PxRdl2, from P. xylostella in the action of fipronil. Expressed in Xenopus oocytes, PxRDL2 receptors were 40-times less sensitive to fipronil than PxRDL1. PxRDL2 receptors were also less sensitive to GABA compared to PxRDL1. Knockout of the fipronil-sensitive PxRdl1 gene reduced the potency of fipronil by 10 fold, whereas knockout of the fipronil-resistant PxRdl2 gene enhanced the potency of fipronil by 4.4 fold. Furthermore, in two fipronil-resistant diamondback moth field populations, the expression of PxRdl2 was elevated by 3.7-fold and 4.1-fold, respectively compared to a su...

As a new pattern of tumor blood supply, vasculogenic mimicry (VM) is a channel structure lined by tumor cells rather than endothelial cells, which contribute to angiogenesis. VM occurs in a variety of solid tumor types, including liver cancer, such as hepatocellular carcinoma. The aim of the present study was to elucidate the effect of arsenic trioxide (As2O3) on VM. In vitro experiments identified that HB cell line HepG2 cells form typical VM structures on Matrigel, and the structures were markedly damaged by As2O3 at a low concentration before the cell viability significantly decreased. The western blot results indicated that As2O3 downregulated the expression level of VM‑associated proteins prior to the appearance of apoptotic proteins. In vivo, VM has bee...

Since NO is such a small diatomic molecule and is expected not to be too strongly affected by steric or molecule shape-dependent recognition factors that large molecules often encounter, the binding force of NO with a particular active site can therefore be represented by the bond energy of the Y-NO type, where Y is the atom to which NO is actually attached. The distributed transmission power focuses on reducing the power consumption and decreasing interferences. Wireless scheduling is used to improve the spectrum efficiency, and the routing selection mechanism determines the optimum routing selection. Simulation results show that the proposed joint optimisation mechanism can effectively improve the network throughput performance, decrease the power consumption and achieve better performances.

From the example, It can be found that the new algorithm is better then the ST-GA in performance.

Here we report the

It is found that the isoscaling parameters alpha and beta have a strong dependence on the isospin
