To reach those who seek mental health services, the General Secretary of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment (GSMHAT) has devised a strategy plan and approaches that have been placed in a timetable (2015-2016) and sent to hospital administrators and departments. The objectives of Hotline are to evaluate the national hotline for psychosocial assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic, identify concerns with data collection, and offer stakeholders with a comprehensive hotline profile that identifies improvements and obstacles. This Review intends to illustrate the significance of internet technology to the Egyptian public-health response to the COVID-19 epidemic in terms of mental health problem management. This assessment demonstrates how our nation maintains alignment with international strategies for the regulation, evaluation, and application of digital technology to boost pandemic management and future preparedness for COVID-19 and other infectious illnesses. Introduction: Countless dimensions of life have changed because of the technological revolution. In 2019, 67% of people worldwide had mobile device registrations, with 65% of those being smartphones. Sub-Saharan Africa experienced the fastest growth in this area (Budd et al,2020). For instance, (ProMED-mail20), (GPHIN21), (HealthMap), and (EIOS) use natural language processing and machine learning to filter online data and provide epidemiological insight. Objectives: to determine the impact of low a FODMAP diet on symptom control and satisfaction of improvement in patients with IBS according to ROME IV criteria and IBS related quality of life and disability before and after participation; and to compare the impact of low FODMAP diet and NICE guidelines on symptoms control and quality of life among IBS patients. Methods: A randomized two-arm clinical trial had been conducted on 60 IBS patients who were randomized either to an intervention group (n=30) followed low FODMAP diet or a control group (n=30) followed NICE dietary guideline. Results: After 12 weeks of intervention, there was a statistically significant difference in (QOL) score and improvement of IBS symptoms (p<0.001) between the intervention group and the control group, and there was a significant reduction (p<0.001) in waist circumference among the intervention group versus the control group. In addition, patients in the intervention group were strongly satisfied (p<0.001) than the control group Conclusion: a low FODMAP diet can improve global symptoms of IBS and quality of life more than NICE dietary guideline among group of Egyptian patients at

The goal of this study is to measure the level of blood zinc in children aged 6 months to less than 5 years old, and to assess the effect of 4 months of daily zinc supplements on the incidence and the severity of diarrheal morbidity. A randomized controlled trial study was conducted in Pediatric Outpatient Clinic in Ain Shams University Hospital on 140 children less than 5 years old who are apparently healthy. Random assignment of the sampled children to group receiving zinc (70 children) or group receiving placebo (70 children) was done. A questionnaire containing questions about occurrence of diarrhea was used during follow up. Serum zinc at baseline was measured. The mean age was 25.26 ± 15.7 months. Mean of serum zinc was 51.08 μg/dL, with 70% had low baseline serum zinc level. Cumulative incidence of diarrhea, number of diarrhea episodes per child and frequency of stools/...

D... more Introduction Poisoning is regarded as a significant threat to public health all over the world. Determining the poisoning trend and its causative agents is essential for developing effective poisoning prevention and targeted intervention programs. Methods A hospital-based retrospective observational study was conducted using electronic databases and medical records of acutely poisoned patients presented to the Poison Control Center of Ain Shams University Hospitals (PCC-ASUH) for the period from 2015 to 2019. Demographics and types of the poisoning exposures of all included patients were extracted, and descriptive analysis was performed to investigate the outcomes. Results From 2015 to 2019, we collected data from 115402 patients. The current findings revealed that the majority of poisoned patients were between the ages of 15 and 25 across all studied years. The number of male and female patients was not significantly different. The oral route was the most common poisoning route. Suicidal and accidental modes of poisoning were the most common poisoning modes. Greater Cairo governorates had more patients than other Egyptian regions. Drug exposure was significantly more prevalent than non-drug poisoning. In all studied years, the mild degree of poisoning was the most pervasive. The majority of presented cases required hospitalization and poisoning management in less than 6 hours. Enhanced elimination was the most frequently used toxicological management measure used across all study years, followed by antidotes. Conclusion The current study investigated the main intoxicated patients' demographics and characteristics of poisoning exposures in Egyptian people. We highlighted the impact of intentional, or accidental exposure, in addition to demonstrating the utility of specific poison centers in the management of various cases and the different strategies that can be implemented to decrease fatality and improve health care.

In recent years, new treatments for hepatitis C have been approved and represent a major advancement in treatment. Objectives: This study was conducted to assess knowledge, opinions and perceived barriers to hepatitis c direct-Acting Antivirals (DAAs) based regimen among a sample of hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment providers. Methods: A Cross-sectional study on HCV treatment providers at El-Demerdash, Ain Shams University Hospital was conducted. A total of 69 physicians responded to self-administered questionnaire about their knowledge, opinions on the services provided and perception towards treatment barriers. Results: Most of physicians' opinions agreed with the current state of HCV care as exist of guidelines, patients have adequate access to HCV treatment providers; but they disagreed about that the general public is aware of HCV and know that it is a curable disease. Most of physicians (81%) had high Knowledge level of HCV treatment principles. The most perceived barriers to care were Payer-related barriers followed by government-related barriers and patient-related barriers. Conclusion: The study highlights the most perceived barriers that may impede the prompt and appropriate treatment of hepatitis C virus infection reported by treating physicians. Therefore, it is important to engage HCV treatment providers in Educational programs that can help to modify their knowledge about HCV treatment and related services, and their communication and practice in guiding patients in their treatment course.
