Explanation about gender and bullying effect have been offered by many scholars. This recent research has focused on gender differences in bullying effect such as depression and anxiety. It is drawing on quantitative methodological study of bullying effect at 536 students at high school in South Sulawesi Indonesia. It is identified that statistically, bullying effect such as anxiety and depression in Indonesia are significantly different between male and female. Anxiety and depression are the potential effect of bullying. The result documented that there is a significant difference between depression effects of bullying towards gender. Similarly, It is identified to anxiety effect that there is also a significant difference between anxiety effects towards gender. Bullying effects are significantly different in term of gender in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia.

Bullying occurs in many forms in South Sulawesi schools. Verbal bullying has been identified to be the most dominant bullying type. Social supports could minimize the effects and prevalence of bullying in school. The research also found that bullying type is significantly correlated with the existence of social supports in school. Therefore, social support is crucial for students.

Quantitative data were obtained by using a set of questionnaires from 545 respondents in six districts in South Sulawesi. The result showed that bullying types such physical bullying, verbal bullying, social bullying and cyber bullying are significantly difference in terms of gender in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Separately, the whole bullying type such as physical, verbal, social and cyber are also significantly different between male and female. The male students are more involved in bullying compared with female students. This finding hopefully can provide useful information for those who involved in bullying prevention program, school administrative staff and teacher.

This article proposes two ways approaches to redeem the language learner level of anxiety namely learner centre solution and classroom setting. In some respects, the best solution to cope the learners’ anxiety is by considering holistic approach by looking at both learners’ personal factor and classroom management. It is suggested that language teachers should learn not only about teaching materials but also psychology of the students and class psychology.
