Migration has become a phenomenon that is controversially debated in the receiving countries. This entry examines the economic consequences of migration and immigration, the challenge of successfully integrating people with different cultural and social backgrounds and that of managing efficiently the increasing diversity of host societies. Consequently, the evaluation of the influences of migration is expanded from a purely economic benefit cost analysis for migration receiving countries to questions of political, social, and cultural transformations as well. Keywords: labor supply; capitalism; political economy; employment and unemployment; immigration; poverty; gender

The silica micro-beads were initially modified using N-[(3-trimethoxysilyl)-propyl] aniline to activate an aniline functional group on the silica surface for a better PANI coating. The morphology of the PANI coating on the silica surface was examined by scanning electron microscopy and the silica/PANI core–shell structure was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy. The chemical structure of the particles was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Rotational rheometry was performed to confirm the difference in the ER properties between pure silica and silica/PANI microsphere-based ER fluids when dispersed in silicone oil.

Research paper thumbnail of Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering Enhancement of Interlaminar Fracture Toughness of Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composites Using Silk Fibroin Electrospun Nanofibres

In this paper, the effect of silk fibroin nanofibres (nSF) as a toughening agent of Carbon fiber/... more In this paper, the effect of silk fibroin nanofibres (nSF) as a toughening agent of Carbon
fiber/ fabric reinforced Epoxy Composites (CF/EP) is experimentally investigated. The
composites showed up to 30% improvement in Mode II fracture toughness the at 0.1
wt.% of nSF content. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation revealed that
the fracture surface of nSF modified CF/EP appearance of the broken fiber and the
ductile–like matrix cracks showed a good adhesion between matrix resin and carbon
fibers which are reasons for enhance mode II interlaminar fracture toughness.
