Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti penerapan kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi (KBAT) dalam pembela... more Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti penerapan kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi (KBAT) dalam pembelajaran dan pemudahcaraan (PdPc) penulisan karangan argumentatif yang dilaksanakan oleh guru Bahasa Melayu di sekolah menengah. Dua orang guru Bahasa Melayu yang mengajar di Tingkatan Empat telah dipilih sebagai peserta kajian dengan menggunakan teknik persampelan bertujuan. Kajian ini telah dilaksanakan di sebuah sekolah menengah di Selangor. Reka bentuk penyelidikan kajian kes telah digunakan dalam kajian ini bagi menjawab tiga soalan kajian. Ketiga-tiga soalan kajian terdiri daripada (i) apakah pemahaman guru Bahasa Melayu di sekolah menengah terhadap penerapan KBAT dalam PdPc penulisan karangan argumentatif

The mastery of aspects of any given language, like vocabulary, spelling, structure, proficiency, variety, level, and articulation, enables students to form ideas in very clear and precise ways that later get translated into writings that are succinct and lucid. The ThingLink application can be integrated with a VR device to bring a new experience to Malay Language educators as an initial step to create a virtual environment in the classroom. The 360-degree instructional video is an innovation that is developed and catered to the needs of eight themes covered in the Malay Language textbook. In fact, the educational video content has also been researched according to the Teacher's Daily Lesson Plan for use in the classroom. This study was conducted to examine how teachers carried out teaching and learning (T&L) based on... more This study was conducted to examine how teachers carried out teaching and learning (T&L) based on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in the process of argumentative essay writing. To obtain a holistic overview of the methods used by teachers in T&L, a qualitative case study approach was being employed as the research design of this study. Secondary school teachers were involved voluntarily in this study, and it was conducted at a boarding school in a district in Selangor, Malaysia. To collect meaningful data from both research participants, in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis were used until saturated data was achieved. The findings were analyzed to form the criteria and themes in discovering the use of HOTS in T&L of argumentative essay writing. It was found that debate is a viable method to implement HOTS in argumentative essay writing. The method can attract and inspire students to use HOTS in constructing their arguments and in completing their writing assignments.

Teachers should be wise in balancing between the content of knowledge and information to be conveyed and then combine it with other skills, especially the skill of high order thinking (HOTs) by using mobile technology. The use of mobile technology is now increasingly gaining attention in the world community in all matters. Hence, the educational system is able to offer chances and opportunities to embrace high-level thinking by making mobile technology a device that brings about and facilitates teachers to deliver knowledge and skills to pupils of generation Z.

Tugas ini perlu digalas oleh individu guru bagi memastikan proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran dan proses pentaksiran dapat dilaksanakan secara beriringan. Bagi tujuan ini, guru perlu memiliki pengetahuan dan pengalaman yang kompeten berkaitan proses pentaksiran yang bakal dilangsungkan. Penghasilan wacana argumentatif mempunyai ekspektasi bahawa murid perlu mengemukakan fakta dan huraian yang padat dan jelas dalam sesebuah penulisan selain daripada mengelakkan timbulnya sebarang keraguan dalam kalangan pembaca terhadap isu yang dibincangkan. Hal ini demikian membawa kepada perlunya sistem pentaksiran yang bersesuaian untuk menaksir kemampuan murid menulis karangan argumentatif. Justeru, makalah ini akan memberikan perhatian terhadap persoalan berkaitan bagaimana guru Bahasa Melayu yang mengajar di sekolah menengah melaksanakan amalan pentaksiran dalam pengajaran kemahiran menulis karangan argumentatif. Gambaran yang menyeluruh bagi memperlihatkan amalan pentaksiran karangan peserta kajian dapat dijanadengan menggunakan reka bentuk penyelidikan kajian kes kualitatif. Malah, metodologi kajian kes kualitatif ini melibatkan penyertaan enam orang guru Bahasa Melayu yang berperanan sebagai pembekal data yang “kaya”, dan tiga teknik pengumpulan data iaitu temu bual separa berstruktur, pemerhatian di dalam bilik darjah dan penganalisisan dokumen karangan argumentatif. Terdapat empat tema utama yang dapat dibentuk iaitu prosedur, pendekatan, pembinaan komunikasi antara guru dengan murid dan masalah pelaksanaan amalan pentaksiran karangan bagi menjawab persoalan kajian yang dikemukakan. Malah, metodologi kajian kes kualitatif ini melibatkan penyertaan enam orang guru Bahasa Melayu yang berperanan sebagai pembekal data yang “kaya”, dan tiga teknik pengumpulan data iaitu temu bual separa berstruktur, pemerhatian di dalam bilik darjah dan penganalisisan dokumen karangan argumentatif. Terdapat empat tema utama yang dapat dibentuk iaitu prosedur, pendekatan, pembinaan komunikasi antara guru dengan murid dan masalah pelaksanaan amalan pentaksiran karangan bagi menjawab persoalan kajian yang dikemukakan. This study was conducted to examine how teachers carried out teaching and learning (T&L) based on... more This study was conducted to examine how teachers carried out teaching and learning (T&L) based on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in the process of argumentative essay writing. To obtain a holistic overview of the methods used by teachers in T&L, a qualitative case study approach was being employed as the research design of this study. Secondary school teachers were involved voluntarily in this study, and it was conducted at a boarding school in a district in Selangor, Malaysia. To collect meaningful data from both research participants, in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis were used until saturated data was achieved. The findings were analyzed to form the criteria and themes in discovering the use of HOTS in T&L of argumentative essay writing. It was found that debate is a viable method to implement HOTS in argumentative essay writing. The method can attract and inspire students to use HOTS in constructing their arguments and in completing their writing assignments.
