Siam orange ( Citrus nobilis Lour.) is a prominent agriculture commodity in Riau province. It tas... more Siam orange ( Citrus nobilis Lour.) is a prominent agriculture commodity in Riau province. It tastes sweet, with fragrant aroma and thin skin. Its cultivation, however, needs improvement to gain better quality of product. One effort that is using the in vitro culture. The study aimed to determine the best IBA and NAA concentrations to trigger root formation on siam orange transplant and used Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The result showed that the rooting reached 100% on all treatments. The fastest rooting was observed in 2 mg/L IBA treatment (7.67 days after planting). The most root growth was obtained with combination of 0.5 mg/L NAA with 1.5 mg/L IBA (2.67 units). The longest root was obtained through the mixture of 1.5 mg/L NAA with 0.5 mg/L IBA (2.27 cm).

The research was conducted in December 2014 until January 2015, andaimed to determine the total amount of above-ground biomass and the carbon stock as well as therelation of the three conditions of the development of mangrove forests in the area of Bandar Bakau,Dumai, Riau Province. The plot was made by using transect line plot method, 50 x 50 m in size with atotal of 3 plots along the coastline. Each plot contained 5 (five) sub-plots (10 x 10 m) that randomlydetermined. The results showed that along the transect line was found 10 species of mangrove, i.e.Xylocarpus granatum, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Avicenniaalba, Avicennia marina, Sonneratia alba, Lumnitzera racemosa, Lumnitzera littorea, and Scyphiphorahydrophyllacea. Sifat larva dari PBK ini, menggerek dinding buah sesaat berkembang didalam buah dan menggunakan nutrisi untuk pertumbuhannya sehingga menghambat perkembangan biji kakao. Proteinase inhibitor (PIN) adalah gen yang memiliki sifat ketahanan terhadap hama. Dengan menggali potensi gen ketahanan pada kakao seperti proteinase inhibitor (PIN), diharapkan dapat membantu upaya perakitan maupun seleksi klon kakao tahan PBK dalam upaya mendapatkan tanaman kakao toleran hama PBK. Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) from Bengkalis with excellence can live in the peat soil is a tropical fruit that became one export commodity of Riau Province. This study aimed to induce nodules from explants of mangosteen seeds (Garcinia mangostana L.) from Bengkalis using single BAP (Benzil amino purine) and honey as well as a combination of urashige Skoog (MS) media. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) using BAP (0; 5; 7 mg / L) and honey (0; 3; 6; 9 ml / L) concentrations both singly and in combination. The results of this study indicate that the highest percentage of nodules formed is found in the treatment of 7 mg / l BAP and 7 mg / l BAP + 6 ml / l honey on MS media at 100%. Tissue culture was an alternative way in micropropagation of siam orange (Citrus nobilis Lour.) f... more Tissue culture was an alternative way in micropropagation of siam orange (Citrus nobilis Lour.) from Kampar one of the main commodity in Riau province. Shoot induction as an early stage propagation and the rooting stage were very important parts to produce plantlet in vitro technique. The aim of this study was to determine the best BAP and NAA concentration for shoot induction and rooting of siam orange from Kampar. This study using a randomized block design with faktorial treatment. The results of this study show that the best shoot induction was obtained from cotyledon explant grown on MS medium without BAP. The percentage and the average number of shoot were 91,67% and 1,50 respectively. The combination of MS medium with 1 mg/L NAA was the most optimum concentration in rooting induction of siam orange from Kampar, with the percentage of root growth and the highest average number of root 90% and 6.3 roots respectively.

The study was conducted to determine the concentration of the extract Imperata (Imperata cylindrica L.) appropriate in the sweet corn growth and determine the concentration of extract proper Imperata in the growth and production. The research method is a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 9 treatments and 3 replicates. The results showed that treatment of Imperata extracts with varying concentrations significantly influenced the growth of plant height and leaf number. However, plantation of siam orange is decreasing due to diseases. Preservation is required to prevent loss of siam orange by planting citrus on a large area. Plant propagation through tissue culture (in vitro culture) is an alternative approach to obtain seedlings in large quantities and potential for production of pathogen‐free healthy plants. The effects of plant growth regulators of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) on shoot regeneration of Citrus nobilis Lour. From intact seed and cotyledon explants were studied. This research was aimed to determine the effect of Ageratum conyzoides L. leaf extract and also to determine optimum concentration on seed germination and growth of weed Paspalum conjugatum Berg.. This experiment used to extract concentration 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. The experiment showed that germination and growth of Paspalum conjugatum Berg . were reduced and to happen damage by leaf extract of Ageratum conyzoides L. The highest germination, growth inhibition and demage at concentrations of the leaf extract 20% respectively are 80.5%, 63.15% dan 17,72 %.

The purpose of this research was to determine the best concentration of BAP (Benzylaminopurine) in LQGXFLQJ PDQJRVWHHQ ¶V VKRRWV IURP %HQJNDOLV 7KLV UHVHDUFK XVHG 5DQGRPL]HG Complete block Design (RAK) with 5 concentrations of BAP (0; 1; 3; 5; 7 mg/l) with 5 replications. Weed is one of the limiting factors of crop production. Some of weed controls use synthetic and o... more Weed is one of the limiting factors of crop production. Some of weed controls use synthetic and organic herbicides. Organic herbicides are used as the environmentaly friendly weed control. One of potential plants as organic herbicides is Peperomia pellucida that contains allelopathic compound and essensial oil. The purposes of this research were to determine the effect of P. pellucida extract and the most effective and efficient extract concentration in inhibiting the germination and growth of Mikania micrantha. This research used Randomized Complete Design using four treatments, i. e. control, 7,5%, 15% and 30% of P. pellucida extracts. The collected data was analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) if the result was significantly different. The result showed the decrease of the germination and growth of M. micrantha weed. The most effective and efficient extract was 7,5% P. pellucida extract.

Anthocyanin is red, purple and blue pigment that is commonly found in plants and can be used as a... more Anthocyanin is red, purple and blue pigment that is commonly found in plants and can be used as a natural dye. One of plant species that can be extracted as natural dye source and contains anthocyanin is senduduk (Melastoma malabathricum L.). The objective of this study was to compare the effectivenes of various solvents and organic acids in extraction process of antocyanin pigment from senduduk flower. The results showed that the color of anthocyanin extracts that produce the strongest color was found in 3% ethanol and 1% tartaric acid treatment, while the weakest color was found in 3% ethanol treatment. Low pH was produced in 3% ethanol + 1% tartaric acid, while high pH was produced in 3% ethanol treatment.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of BAP and NAA concentration in the root orchid propagation G. scriptum var. citrinum. The results showed that the application of BAP and NAA significant effect on the time of formation appeared roots (19 days), the best root number in the treatment of BAP 0.5 mg/l + 1.0 mg/l NAA for (5 pieces) and root length was obtained NAA 1 mg/l and a combination of 1.0 mg/l BAP + 0.5 mg/l NAA respectively 6.66 cm and 7.40 cm.

Pyrrosia merupakan golongan tumbuhan paku epifit dari family Polypodiaceae. Penelitian ini bertu... more Pyrrosia merupakan golongan tumbuhan paku epifit dari family Polypodiaceae. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkarakterisasi morfologi (rhizoma, ptiolus dan lamina) dan mikromorfologi (sisik dan trikoma) dari 4 jenis Pyrrosia yang umum dijumpai di Provinsi Riau, yaitu Pyrrosia heterophyla, Pyrrosia lanceolate, Pyrrosia longifolia dan Pyrrosia pillosheloides. Hasil karakterisasi morfologi menunjukan variasi pada organ yang diamati, terutama pada ukuran ptetiolus, bentuk dan ukuran lamina. Hasil pengamatan pada sisik menujukan varias pada warna sisik, jumlah rambut pada sisik dan posisinya. Sedangkan trikoma pada ptiolus dan lamina menunjukan persamaan bentuk yaitu stelata.

Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk mengurangi sampah di lingkungan masyarakat, meningkatkan kemampuan ekonomi keluarga, dan minat masyarakat mengkonsumsi sayuran yang bersih dan higienis di Desa Kualu Kecamatan Tambang Kabupaten Kampar. Teknik hidroponik ini terbuat dari bahan relatif murah dan terjangkau, sehingga keterbatasan kemampuan finansial masyarakat dapat teratasi. Sistem ini merupakan sistem hidroponik yang menggunakan sumbu untuk menyerap nutrisi organik. Tissue culture was an alternative way in micropropagation of siam orange (Citrus nobilis Lour.) f... more Tissue culture was an alternative way in micropropagation of siam orange (Citrus nobilis Lour.) from Kampar one of the main commodity in Riau province. Shoot induction as an early stage propagation and the rooting stage were very important parts to produce plantlet in vitro technique. The aim of this study was to determine the best BAP and NAA concentration for shoot induction and rooting of siam orange from Kampar. This study using a randomized block design with faktorial treatment. The results of this study show that the best shoot induction was obtained from cotyledon explant grown on MS medium without BAP. The percentage and the average number of shoot were 91,67% and 1,50 respectively. The combination of MS medium with 1 mg/L NAA was the most optimum concentration in rooting induction of siam orange from Kampar, with the percentage of root growth and the highest average number of root 90% and 6.3 roots respectively.

The experiment showed that germination and growth of Paspalum conjugatum Berg . were reduced and to happen damage by leaf extract of Ageratum conyzoides L. The purpose of this research was to determine the best concentration of BAP (Benzylaminopurine) in LQGXFLQJ PDQJRVWHHQ ¶V VKRRWV IURP %HQJNDOLV 7KLV UHVHDUFK XVHG 5DQGRPL]HG Complete block Design (RAK) with 5 concentrations of BAP (0; 1; 3; 5; 7 mg/l) with 5 replications. Some of weed controls use synthetic and organic herbicides. Organic herbicides are used as the environmentaly friendly weed control. One of potential plants as organic herbicides is Peperomia pellucida that contains allelopathic compound and essensial oil. The purposes of this research were to determine the effect of P. pellucida extract and the most effective and efficient extract concentration in inhibiting the germination and growth of Mikania micrantha. This research used Randomized Complete Design using four treatments, i. e. control, 7,5%, 15% and 30% of P. pellucida extracts. The collected data was analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) if the result was significantly different. The result showed the decrease of the germination and growth of M. micrantha weed. The most effective and efficient extract was 7,5% P. pellucida extract.

One of plant species that can be extracted as natural dye source and contains anthocyanin is senduduk (Melastoma malabathricum L.). The objective of this study was to compare the effectivenes of various solvents and organic acids in extraction process of antocyanin pigment from senduduk flower. The results showed that the color of anthocyanin extracts that produce the strongest color was found in 3% ethanol and 1% tartaric acid treatment, while the weakest color was found in 3% ethanol treatment. Low pH was produced in 3% ethanol + 1% tartaric acid, while high pH was produced in 3% ethanol treatment.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of BAP and NAA concentration in the root orchid propagation G. scriptum var. citrinum. The results showed that the application of BAP and NAA significant effect on the time of formation appeared roots (19 days), the best root number in the treatment of BAP 0.5 mg/l + 1.0 mg/l NAA for (5 pieces) and root length was obtained NAA 1 mg/l and a combination of 1.0 mg/l BAP + 0.5 mg/l NAA respectively 6.66 cm and 7.40 cm.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkarakterisasi morfologi (rhizoma, ptiolus dan lamina) dan mikromorfologi (sisik dan trikoma) dari 4 jenis Pyrrosia yang umum dijumpai di Provinsi Riau, yaitu Pyrrosia heterophyla, Pyrrosia lanceolate, Pyrrosia longifolia dan Pyrrosia pillosheloides. Hasil karakterisasi morfologi menunjukan variasi pada organ yang diamati, terutama pada ukuran ptetiolus, bentuk dan ukuran lamina. Hasil pengamatan pada sisik menujukan varias pada warna sisik, jumlah rambut pada sisik dan posisinya. Sedangkan trikoma pada ptiolus dan lamina menunjukan persamaan bentuk yaitu stelata.

Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk mengurangi sampah di lingkungan masyarakat, meningkatkan kemampuan ekonomi keluarga, dan minat masyarakat mengkonsumsi sayuran yang bersih dan higienis di Desa Kualu Kecamatan Tambang Kabupaten Kampar. Teknik hidroponik ini terbuat dari bahan relatif murah dan terjangkau, sehingga keterbatasan kemampuan finansial masyarakat dapat teratasi.
