These have intertwined in meaning over time and have become interchangeable in some cases. The phenomena in spiritual world are necessarily explained by one of these terms. Psychological tension, also known as stress, lead of these phenomena. In this context, we believe, it is important to explain the nature of psychological tension in point of handling, with reference to soul or nafs. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the concept of psychological tension in the context of soul and nafs according to Qur’anic data.
