It is a quantitative exploratory study, whose purpose is to investigate the relationship between incubation mechanisms and local urban development according to the concept of Smart City. Methodologically, canonical correlation analysis was applied between two sets of elements: variables associated to business incubation and variables related to smart city characteristics. The research was concentrated on 157 medium-and large-sized cities from 25 European countries. Based on the findings, clusters analysis was also performed. The article presents, among the main results: (1) evidence of correlation between business incubation and smart urban development, and (2) visual classification of these cities into four clusters, according to their urban development and incubation activity.

The multiple regression analysis method was adopted, considering the main formal sources of innovation incubation financing, in addition to the indicators of Open and Close Innovation practices among young companies. The research was concentrated in 66 cities on the European continent based on longitudinal data for the period from 2008 to 2014. The results reveal that there is a significant effect of the innovation incubation financing system on the evolution of the SUD level, with this system being identified as private sponsorship, as venture capital sponsorship, and as sponsorship by higher education entities. Public financing and PPP financing did not have a significant influence on the evolution of the SUD level, although some studies highlight the importance of these sources for smartization projects.

One of the changes that are directly affecting organizations is what is called IT Consumerization... more One of the changes that are directly affecting organizations is what is called IT Consumerization – an expression that was coined as a way to describe the growing movement of technology dissemination from the user to organizational environments. At the root of this disruptive movement, however, lies not only the change that occurs because of the use of a multiplicity of new electronic devices in the corporate environment, but mainly the change in the locus of control of IT. Based on this context of technological and behavioral change, it is therefore interesting to observe how organizations are facing the resulting demands from a process that seems to intensify each passing day, urging not only discussion, but also the development of a real capacity that exceeds simple adaptation. It is precisely the search to understand this capacity that guides the question of this research. To this end, this paper aims to propose the concept of Technological Resilience presenting its theoretical ...

(2) Will the concept of Feature Fatigue cause the same effect when looking from the point of view of the IT Consumerization in the corporate environment? The research addresses these questions through two techniques: a laddering and a survey. Albeit tenuously, the results provide evidence that consumption motivated by IT Fashion leads to Feature Fatigue. This study contributes to management research by attempting at the phenomenon described from a multidisciplinary perspective, also contributing to management practice, specifically for marketing managers trying to understand the experiences and expectations of consumers, and also for IT managers engaged in the design of governance policies regarding the use of personal devices by employees in this context.

ABSTRACT Technological advances give to the manufactures the opportunity of adding numerous featu... more ABSTRACT Technological advances give to the manufactures the opportunity of adding numerous features to new products, especially electronics and information technology (IT) based products, with a relatively low cost for added functionality. Consumers, upon the purchase decision, tend to choose the equipment with the greatest number of features, however, the user experience can be so complex to the point of taking them to the effect called "fatigue" (Thompson et al, 2005 , 2006). Fatigue can correspond to 50% of product returns in the U.S. (SUROWIECKI, 2007). However, the possibility of buying devices with large number of features and low incremental cost has contributed to the expansion of consumption of fast obsolescence products. Thus, the equipments, in a short time, start to be considered outdated in relation to new products launched with more features, triggering the phenomenon of "IT fashion." Moreover, a significant trend has been operating on the market of personal electronic devices in the last ten years, particularly affecting organizations: it is the dissemination of technology from the user to the commercial and public environments, called "IT consumerization" (SHUSTER, 2011). Improvements in processing power and resources of these devices (SEN, 2012), enabling the expansion of the availability of the service functionalities within a single appliance, is particularly important in this context (CHAKA, 2012; GOUL et al.,2012). Based on these concepts, this paper aims to investigate the three research themes outlined above: fatigue, IT fashion and IT consumerization. The research addresses the relationships between these concepts through two techniques: a two stage laddering and a survey. In the laddering, one stage is based in consumers who use technological devices within organizations and a second stage is based in consumers that use the equipment only outside the corporate environment. The purpose is to analyze whether IT fashion leads to fatigue in individual and organizational contexts. In the survey the aim is to analyze in a broader way the fatigue in these two contexts. Herewith we looked to answer two research questions: (1) does the phenomenon of IT fashion result in fatiue? (2) will the concept of fatigue cause the same effect when looking from the point of view of the IT Consumerization in the corporate environment? The results explain these relationships and seek to shed light on the issues that emerge from new technologies changing consumer behaviors.

This research investigate two points: is there an association between the difficulties perceived by managers in the management of weaksignal and the level of entrepreneurial orientation of organizations? And is there is an association between the perceived difficulties and the dimensions of uncertainty perceived by organizations? We conduct this research from the perspective of Intelligence, given that it covers the steps involved in the search, identification, classification, storage, dissemination and use of information. This structure will make it possible to associate the main difficulties in the management of weak signals (identified in previous studies), according to their nature with the Intelligence process. In turn, this will enable an analysis of the relationship between the most significant difficulties perceived by organizations with the degree of entrepreneurship they employ, as well as with the dimensions of uncertainty perceived.
