This research study aimed to investigate the functional analysis of verbs in children’s spoken Ce... more This research study aimed to investigate the functional analysis of verbs in children’s spoken Cebuano. Moreover, the study analyzed the functions of the language, classifications of verbs, and markers among the elicited word conversations. There were 8 student participants. The results revealed that the participants in general often use intransitive over transitive verbs. In general, the Cebuano children were found to use intransitive verbs for they are simpler to use in expressing their emotional and physical needs or experiences and it is easier for them communicate with. Thus, the children’s use of the language is mostly representational, and their usage of the verb constructions is for conveying meaning.
