To achieve the desired objectives of the research, synthetic aqueous solutions of lead and chromium was used in the concentration of chromium and lead ions of 5, 10,50 and 100 mg / l .The work was done at constant pH equal to 4.5 and temperature of 30 ± 1 º C. Effective microorganisms solutions was added to the reactor at Vol.% of 1/50 ,1/100 ,1/500 and 1/1000, with retention time was 24 hours to measure the heavy metals concentration the atomic absorption device was used. The experimental results showed that each 1mg / l of lead and chromium ions need 24 mg of effective microorganisms to achieve removal of 92.0% and 82.60% for lead and chromium respectively. Increasing the concentration of effective microorganisms increases the surface of adsorption and thus increasing the removal efficiency. It is found that ...

Journal bearing are considered to be sliding bearing as opposed to rolling bearing such as ball bearing. The hydrodynamic journal bearings are required and suitable for low temperature and speed. The starting resistance is much greater that running resistance due to slow build-up of lubricant film round the bearing surface. The main problem is identified in the journal bearing is that there is no provision for wear and adjustment on account of wear, and the shaft must be passed into the bearing axially, i.e. endwise. In this bearing limited load on shaft and speed of shaft is low.

The popularity of ceramic restorations can be attributed to its life-like appearance, durability ... more The popularity of ceramic restorations can be attributed to its life-like appearance, durability and biocompatibility and therefore ceramic restorations have been widely used for anterior and posterior teeth. Ceramic restorations have esthetic and biocompatible advantages but low fracture resistance. Since it has high flexural strength and fracture resistance, yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (Y-TZP) is the dental material most commonly used for the core of ceramic crowns and fixed dental prosthesis. In spite of improved mechanical properties, acceptable marginal adaptation and biocompatibility the whitish opacity of zirconia is an obvious esthetic disadvantage. The zirconia framework is often veneered with conventional feldspathic porcelain to achieve a natural appearance. However it is difficult to achieve sufficient bond strength between zirconia and the veneering material. Achieving sufficient bond strength between the veneering ceramic and the zirconia core is ...

Their development as branches of clinical care depends in part as ability to demonstrate an effective grasp of the problems of elderly and their solutions. Any strategy for altering the health status of elderly requires a technology for first assessing that health status and then detecting increments of progress. Development of geriatric oral health assessment index (GOHAI) is a self reported measure designed to assess the oral health problems of older individuals. The goal of geriatric assessment is to collect information that will facilitate diagnosis and suggest appropriate interventions. Such a measure would facilitate estimation of prevalence of oral functional problems in older individuals, It would also increase understanding of psychological impact of oral disease and provide a means for comparing the effectiveness ...

Occasionally, a crown with clinically acceptable margins, preparation design, and occlusion becomes loose. Providers often debate whether such a crown can be successfully recemented with any degree of confidence that it will not be dislodged under normal masticatory function. It has been documented that resistance form increases by placing grooves opposing each other in a crown and tooth; cements also have a role to play in retention of crowns. To determine whether the addition of horizontal groove in the internal surface of the crown and/or tooth preparation will increase retention of the crowns, without remaking them and achieving better retention with cements. A total of 80 extracted human mandibular molars were taken and standard preparation was done.

The lack of well-developed passive heating, cooling and energy saving solutions, made the reliance on central heating in winter and air conditioners in summer the prominent choice for residents. The sustained significant increase in the use of these high energyconsuming systems, have started to exert a heavy toll on the national economy and have raised environmental and public health concerns. This study is devoted to the analysis of heating and cooling problems in the new multi-apartment buildings in Jordan. The main focus of this study is to minimize fuel and electricity consumption. Techniques for heating and cooling are proposed. This study shows that the proposed techniques will lead to significant savings in total energy consumption. These savings will lead to multifold benefits including a welcomed relief to lower and middle class family budgets, a significant reduction in the national reliance on imported energy, and a significant reduction in greenhouse emissions. Nevertheless a wider and more specific study could be done for optimizing the loads and choosing the best air conditioning system.

General data, AP eti ology, admission AP prognosti c criteria, and occurrence of complicati ons were recorded in each categories. The outcome for each category was measured by the components of the Atlanta criteria. Secondary end points of the study were the length of hospital stay, the length of stay at the intensive care unit, and the number of abdominal operati ons. : Prevalence of obesity was 34.7%. When compared with normal-weight pati ents (BMI 18.5-24.9), the categories with BMI >25 had an increased risk of developing the severe form of acute pancreati ti s Pati ents with obesity (BMI > 30) developed signifi cantly more systemic complicati ons (28.5% versus 0%) and local complicati ons(76% versus 11.7%) than non-obese (BMI 24.9-29-9). They needed also more frequently intensive care and had a longer total hospital stay. There was no mortality. : In acute pancreati ti s, body overweight and obesity represent a risk of more severe disease and the number and type of complicati ons increase in categories of increasing BMI.
