The aims of this research is to know the types of metaphors found in Bring Me The Horizon’s “Amo”... more The aims of this research is to know the types of metaphors found in Bring Me The Horizon’s “Amo” album selected song’s lyrics and what is the intended meaning of the song’s lyrics. There are two research questions. They are: 1) what types of metaphors are found in Bring Me the Horizon’s selected song lyrics? 2) What is the intended meaning of the song’s lyrics? The reason behind this research was conduct is to get more knowledge about figurative language especially metaphor and how it works in the literary world. This research uses descriptive qualitative method in analyzing the lyrics. The result of this research shows six types of metaphors by Newmark. Those are dead, cliché, stock, recent, original metaphor and simile. Two out of their three songs of Bring Me the Horizon, that is Medicine and In the Dark use dead metaphor and simile the most. This research aims to describe the Slang Language as a social variation produced by men and women... more This research aims to describe the Slang Language as a social variation produced by men and women’s speech in the age of 18-25 years old found in Lamongan. The research used ethnography research design. The subjects were three men and three women from Lamongan. to collect the data, this present study used interview and observation. The data obtained, then, were analyzed qualitatively by describing the language variation used by the men and the women’s speech in Lamongan. The result shows that language variation was used by those three men and three women. Mostly, they used language in various style when they communicated to their friends. It often took place when they gather among their friends. Specific language became pride a the level of their social. Some factors that caused the men and women’s speech used the language variation dealt with the environment, association, media, social status and different culture

Penelitian ini mencoba mendeskripsikan jenis afiks secara komprehensif melalui analisis afiks dal... more Penelitian ini mencoba mendeskripsikan jenis afiks secara komprehensif melalui analisis afiks dalam tiga bahasa, yaitu: bahasa Arab, bahasa Inggris, dan bahasa Indonesia. Data jenis afiks diambil dari beberapa buku linguistik umum dan morfologi. Data ini kemudian dilengkapi dengan analisis kata berafiks yang ada dalam kamus setiap bahasa tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembagian jenis afiks yang lebih lengkap, yaitu delapan jenis afiks. Kedelapan jenis afiks ini adalah: prefiks, sufiks, infiks, konfiks, interfiks, simulfiks, superfiks, dan transfiks. Dari delapan jenis afiks ini, bahasa Indonesia memiliki jumlah afiks terbanyak, yaitu lima jenis afiks. Sedangkan bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Arab masing-masing memiliki empat jenis afiks.
