The present study is a systematic review determining the effects of aromatherapy with different plants in patients undergoing angiography. This review was conducted according to the 06-PRISMA guideline and registered in the CAMARADES-NC3Rs Preclinical Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Facility (SyRF) database. The English databases were Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCO, and ScienceDirect to search articles regarding the effects of aromatherapy with different plants in patients experiencing angiography without a date limitation. The searched keywords in this study were "aromatherapy", "angiography", "coronary artery disease", "anxiety", "stress", and "cardiovascular diseases". Out of 1835 papers, 20 ...

Therefore, predicting the Length of Stay (LOS) is necessary to ensure optimal allocate of scarce hospital resources. The purpose of this research was to construct a model for predicting COVID-19 patients' hospital LOS by multiple Machine Learning (ML) algorithms. Using a single-center registry, we studied the records of 1225 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 hospitalized patients from February 9, 2020, to December 20, 2020. The most important clinical parameters in the COVID-19 LOS prediction were identified with a correlation coefficient at the P-value< 0.2. Then, the prediction models were developed based on seven ML techniques according to selected variables. Finally, to evaluate the performances of those models several standard quantitative measures includes accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and R...

Research paper thumbnail of Developing a national formulary based on a unified payment system in Iran

The national formulary plays an important role in increasing access to medicine and correct drug ... more The national formulary plays an important role in increasing access to medicine and correct drug information based on national considerations. However, this study aimed to provide a model for development of national formulary based on a unified payment system in Iran. This study used a combination of descriptive, comparative, and qualitative methods. It was an applied developmental study in 2016. The data were collected using a form based on the World Health Organization's (WHO) standard model for national formulary. Using census method, all national formulary of countries available on the WHO website (n=14) were selected for study. The similarities and differences of national formulary of these countries and Iran were compared with the WHO's standard model. Then, Iran's national formulary content was determined using comparative study results and opinions of an expert panel consisting of 12 faculty members and assistants of the medicine economy. Results showed that the ...

Methods: This review was done based on the 06- PRISMA guideline (Moher, Liberati Tetzlaff, & Altman, 2009) and registered in the CAMARADES-NC3Rs Preclinical Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Facility (SyRF) database. We did all the research in scientific databases in some English language databases, such as Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and EMBASE, with no limitation in time to find the in vivo and clinical investigations on hepatoprotective effects of herbal medicines on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The selected words and terms for our search were: “fatty liver”, “extract”, “essential oil”, “clinical trial”, “herbal medicine”, “medicinal plants”, and “non-alcoholic fatty liver”. Results: Out of 21230 papers, 28 papers including 21 in vivo (75.0%), and 7 clinical tri...

However, these agents are associated with adverse side effects ranging from nausea to possible genotoxicity. The present investigation was designed to systematically review the in vitro, in vivo, and clinical studies about the efficacy of nanoparticles against giardiasis. The study was carried out based on the 06-PRISMA guideline and registered in the CAMARADES-NC3Rs Preclinical Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Facility (SyRF) database. The search was performed in five English databases, including Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Google Scholar, without time limitation for publications around the world about anti-Giardia effects of all organic and inorganic nanoparticles without date limitation in order to identify all the published articles. The searched words and terms were “Giardiasis”, “Giardia lamblia”, “Giardia intestinalis”, “Giardia duodenalis”...
