The primary plant protection against insects is their surface property, which hinders the attachment of the insect’s legs and eggs. The epicuticular waxes chemistry influences the fine structure of the cuticular surface. In current study, an attempt was made to investigate the variation of chemical compounds in epicuticular waxes of four cotton species that classify them resistant or susceptible i.e., Gossypium abroreum, G. hirsutum, G. arboreum wax deficient mutant (GaWM3) and G. harknessi which were evaluated for their interaction with whitefly and CLCuV transmission. Gossypium hirsutum an insect and CLCuV susceptible cotton variety, was found to have four compounds namely Trichloroacetic acid, hexadecylester, P-xylenolpthalein, 2-cyclopentene-1-ol, 1-phenyl-and Phenol, 2,5-bis [1,1- dimethyl] which could interact with chitin of whitefly whi...

The presence of metallic Carbon Nanotubes (m-CNTs) is one of the major fabrication challenges as it negatively impacts the performance, power and yield of CNFET-based circuits. We verified on larger circuit a newly developed capacitance-based Logical Effort (LE) model for ideal CNFETs, and adopted it to estimate the delay of CNFET-based circuits with the variation of the number of tubes in the channel. The variation results from the initial presence of metallic tubes, which are next removed by one of the known removal techniques. Our model results in fairly accurate delay estimation with maximum error less than 5% for a set of tested CNFET circuits.

It is being stated that soon we will have a chip of 50-100 nm comprising around 4 billion transistors operating at a frequency of 10 Ghz. Such a development means that in the near future we probably have devices with such complex functions ranging from mere mobile phones to mobile devices controlling satellite functions. But developing such kind of chips is not an easy task as the number of transistors increases on-chip, and so does the complexity of integrating them. Today's SoCs use shared or dedicated buses to interconnect the communicating on-chip resources. However, these buses are not scalable beyond a certain limit. In this case, the current interconnect infrastructure will become a bottleneck for the development of billion transistor chips. Hence, in this tutorial, we will try to highlight a new design paradigm that has been proposed to counter the inefficiency of buses in future SoCs. This new design paradigm has been termed with a variety of titles, but the most common and agreed upon one is Networks on Chips (NoCs). We will show that how this paradigm shift from ordinary buses to networks on chips can make the kind of SoCs mentioned above very much possible.

Separate studies have been undertaken for these performance metrics. In this paper, we have carried out experiments using different voice codecs to evaluate SIP call setup time and QoS parameters together.

A recent transcriptome analysis of syncytia induced by the beet cyst nematode Heterodera schachtii in Arabidopsis roots has shown that thousands of genes are up-regulated or down-regulated in syncytia as compared to root segments from uninfected plants. Among the down-regulated genes are many which code for WRKY transcription factors. Arabidopsis contains 66 WRKY genes with 59 represented by the ATH1 GeneChip. Of these, 28 were significantly down-regulated and 6 up-regulated in syncytia as compared to control root segments. We have studied here the down-regulated genes WRKY6, WRKY11, WRKY17 and WRKY33 in detail. We confirmed the down-regulation in syncytia with promoter::GUS lines. Using various overexpression lines and mutants it was shown that the down-regulation of these WRKY genes is important for nematode development,...

PegIFN/ribavirin has increased rate of sustained virological response than standard IFN α/ribavirin therapy. Objective of current study was to analyze rate of early and delayed response to antiviral treatment as well as rate of relapse response in patients following standard treatment IFN α/ribavirin and in patients following pegylated interferon treatment. Methods Baseline serum samples of 153 patients enrolled for IFN α/ribavirin and 50 patients for PegIFN/ribavirin were collected. After total RNA extraction, genotyping was and HCV RNA viral load was done. Subsequently HCV RNA viral load was estimated at 4 weeks of treatment, at 12 weeks, at 24 or 48 weeks and finally after 6 months follow up period. All the data was statistically analyzed using fish...
