The Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis were used to validate all instruments and to establish model fit of the research. At the same time, ANOVA was used to answer the following research Question: Is there any significant difference between the self-efficacy beliefs, self-efficacy encouragement, achievement motivation, and self learning strategies according to ethnicity of the UKM undergraduate students? The PCA results show that the research instruments were statistically established. The results of CFA’s fit indices suggested that the collected data persistently fits the separated hypothesized models of self-efficacy, self-efficacy encouragement, achievement motivation, and learning strategies of UKM undergraduate students. The combined hypothesized model was significantly correlated. Additionally, the ...

Such parenting service could become more essential when they could not find responsible housemaids or child minders. However, Grandparents' personal characteristics and family demographics influence children's nutrition attitudes, emotional wellbeing, lifestyles, learning activities, social skills, and others. Additionally, grandparents do shape the children's behavior and educational performance in preschool. Consequently, these influences can be detrimental or advantageous to the children's personal characters. In fact, how the grand-parenting role is played could have a significant impact on the lifestyle of children academically, socially, and emotionally. Based on the literature review, academic research about grandparenting influence on preschool children in Malaysia seems to be very limited; hence, this study aimed to g...

TBL highly emphasizes on the types of thinking techniques that directly lead students to obtain higher order thinking skills. To meet the challenges of the twenty-first century, current classroom pedagogy should infuse TBL techniques into their content of learning. Academics should also conduct uncompromising TBL professional development trainings for teachers on how to apply TBL techniques in their teaching, since (a) the improvement of students occurs with the empowerment of teachers’ abilities, (b) the majority of classroom instructors lack of adequate TBL skills, and (c) they find it difficult to identify where to apply the techniques in curriculum. The second primary aim of this book was to provide multidimensional explanations towards influence of self-efficacy, achievement motivation, and self-regulated learning strategies on students' academic achievements to improve learning process and academic out come in higher institutions. Thus, this book presents extensive literature on self efficacy, achievement motivation, and self-regulated learning strategies and their effects towards academic achievement. The above aims become more crucial since it is unusual among educational researchers to combine self-efficacy, achievement motivation, and self-regulated learning strategies components into a single model investigating students’ academic achievement. Further, The self efficacy includes three dimensions: co...

Grandparents motivate their grandchildren to excel scholastically and morally. The present study investigates grandchildren’s perceptions towards their grandparents’ nurturing educationally, culturally, socially, and religiously. One hundred and eighty one grandchildren from two Malaysia cities voluntarily responded to the parent-grandparent as educator questionnaire - children version. The cities are Ipoh and Tanjung Malim which were situated in Perak state. An independent t-test was used to answer the research Question: Is there any significant difference between perceptions of grandchildren towards grandparents’ nurturing according to the gender of the respondents? The results of the independent t-test show that there were no statistically significant differences in t...

The PGEQ is a multi-dimensional instrument which is capable of reliably measuring parents and grandparents’ religious thought, superstition, culture, morality, socialization, economy, education, language, internationalization, and skill that they pass on to children and grandchildren. A sample of 338 were randomly selected from three Malaysia cities. The researcher applied Principal Components Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and Cronbach’s alpha to test validity and reliability of the PGEQ. The analysis results suggest that the PGEQ is a multi-dimensional instrument which reliably measured ten-factor structure with a total number of 63 validate and reliable items. The PCA extracted factors accounted for 75.7 percent of total variance explained. Interestingly, the degree of inter-correlation among the items of the PGEQ also reached a satisfactory level. The challenge that arises from this type of learning is that the students faced some uncertainties and negative emotional states. This study examined the impact of perceived academic stress and depression on self-efficacy beliefs among university students studying online. One hundred twenty-three participants from two public Universities in Peninsula Malaysia participated through an online google form, which consists of three instruments which are Perception of Academic Stress Scale (PASS), General Self-efficacy (GSE), as well as Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS). Findings from Pearson correlation revealed a low negative correlation between general self-efficacy and stress (r = -.269, p < 0.01). On the other hand, the result of a simple linear regression between self-efficacy and perceived academic stress was significant with B = -2.30, p < 0.05. Studen...

To achieve this, a tool for content analysis including thinking skill items will be constructed. Two science teachers have be trained to conduct the content analysis for grade 1-3 science textbooks, the reliability and validity of analysis have be verified using Cohen’s kappa statistic. From the results, it can be seen clearly that Prioritizing”, “Evaluation” and “Detecting Bias” thinking skills are not included at all in the science textbook from year one until year three. While, the most frequent critical thinking skills are “attributing”, “analysing”, “Grouping and Classifying” and “Sequencing” gradually. Most of the skills have been in the pictures for year one, and in the “text” and then within the “picture” and finally within the “activities” for both of year two and three. Secondly, educational research that investigate the relationship between self-efficacy, achievement motivation, and self-regulated learning strategies applying the structural equation modeling (SEM) in Malaysia seems to be very limited. Hence, carrying out this research is essential for growing educational research to bridge the gap. Three hundred undergraduate students participated in the study using the Confirmatory Factor Analysis to answer the research Question: Is there any correlation between self-efficacy beliefs, achievement motivation, and self-regulated learning strategies of the UKM undergraduate students? Empirically, the CFA results indicated that there was a considerable correlation between self-efficacy beliefs, achievement motivation, and self-regulated learning strategies confirming the argument of literature review.

The research practice did not ignore the students themselves as being the key members of any learning organizations, neither the Islamic perspective as a religion and culture of learning that has adopted the 'memorization approach to obtain knowledge for centuries, nor the Western point of view that contributes much to the 'memory and memorization field. Indeed, this included the research findings of Asian research about Chinese students' memorization and their academic achievement. Within this combination-designed scope, it is assumed that better understanding of memorization will be provided for educators and students as well. The research addresses the following Questions: 1) to what extent the students use memorization as a learning style? 2) What are the students' reasons for using memorization? 3) What aspects do they memorize? 4) How do they memorize? The findings of this research indicated that memorization is related to the research participants' academic achievements. Further, it considered as an effective tool for brain empowerment, illustration enhancement, and oration feature. Indeed, it is believed that memorization itself is not a tragic or bad practice, and the beauty of memorization appears when the memorizer tries to understand what he had memorized. The traditional Islamic scholars such as Imam Shafi also believed that knowledge is not that which we keep in our house, note book, power point, lap top, rather, our knowledge is that which we are able to keep in the heart and always accessible:"
