Concordance research has found that around one in 10 patients who were referred for cervical radiculopathy had comorbid shoulder pathology. The goal of this research is to analyze and correlate risk factors for persistent shoulder pain (non-dermatomal) following cervical spine surgery. Methods This was a single-center, retrospective study. The medical records of patients admitted for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) were reviewed from August 2018 to Feb 2021. Patients of both sexes and age more than 18 years who underwent ACDF (single/multiple levels) were included and the medical record was checked for whether they had persistent shoulder pain following ACDF. The proportion of patients undergoing shoulder surgery for associated rotator cuff tears and subacromial impingeme...

Quantitative descriptive correlational study was conducted by stratified sampling method in 3 different hospitals of Hyderabad city. Data were collected by an approved questionnaire. A total of 140 known DM II patients with an average age of 53.79±14.72 years (BMI= 23.82 ± 3.8) were approached and the response rate was 93.33%. 63% felt unhealthy and 95% of them were not satisfied with their health condition. 29% of the patients were diagnosed as diabetic 10 years ago and 87% people are suffering from comorbid states as well. 73% of the patients regularly monitor glucose level. 67 out of 140 were on once daily dosing of oral hypoglycemic, 61% were on insulin. There was a strong association found between prescribed medication administration and habitual forgetful attitude (p <0.02). Majority of the patients responded that h...

All patients were initially given a conservative trial with anti-inflammatory medications along with resting and icing and rest. 280 patients of planter fascitis got relieved by such conservative management. Only 270 patients received corticosteroid injections and 37 of them were diagnosed with planter fascia rupture post injection. The Diagnosis of the rupture was mostly clinical which was assessed by windlass stretch test by dorsiflexion of the ankle and first toe. In patients who are diabetic the chances of rupture also increases. Treatment following rupture included supportive shoes, orthoses, and time. Methods: All patients with clinical diagnosis of PF who came to Dr. Ziauddin Hospital out-patient department from 2012 to 2016 were taken into our study after consent. Only those patients were given CI that reappeared to the Outpatient with similar or worsening of symptoms. 4 out of the 37 patie...

All the children, of age 1 day to 13 years, presenting with signs of dehydration from any cause were included in the study and categorized based on the severity of dehydration (mild, moderate and severe dehydration) and electrolyte abnormalities (hypo or hypernatremia, hypo or hyperkalemia, hypo or hyperchloremia & hypo or hyperbicarbonatemia). Patients with diarrhea or vomiting without the signs of dehydration were not included in this study. Patients’ categorization was irrespective of the cause of dehydration. Results: A total of 156 patients were enrolled in the study. Hypernatremia in general was the commonest electrolyte abnormality found in patients with mild to moderate dehydration. While in severe dehydration states, high chloride & bicarbonate levels were more co...

There were 48 subjects in the study; 24(50%) orthopaedic surgeons and 24(50%) neurosurgeons. According to 44(91.70%) respondents, common age for spinal tuberculosis was second and third decades of life, and 37(77.08%)reported refractory back pain with or without neurological deficits as the commonest clinical finding. Typical magnetic resonance imaging findings was the uniform observation of ...

Very high resistance pattern is observed nowadays to the frequently used antibiotics. The important observation has been noted that most of the doctors do not obtain blood cultures before start of the antibiotics, which becomes competent source of resistance. For the same purpose, this study has been done to find out the responsible microbes causing ailment and their susceptibility towards antibiotics to plan early and effective management. Materials and Methods: A number of 100 new borns admitted in the NICU CMC Children Hospital Larkana with signs and symptoms of sepsis were included in this research work. The study will help in provision of a comprehensive record on microorganisms causing sepsis in the neonates and their antibiotic sensitivity. The epidemiology and presence of neonatal sepsis in particular area makes it more easy and convenient to implement the rationale of empirical ...
