Augmented reality is part of technological used with the purpose of creating innovative applicati... more Augmented reality is part of technological used with the purpose of creating innovative applications that, among others, improve people's well-being. In this paper we describe the use of augmented reality in an application for mobile devices, aimed at improving the teaching and learning of healthy food consumption in the Panamanian population. For the development of the application, the food guides developed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Panama were considered, so that the application provides a new way of teaching, learning, and viewing the content of the food guides.

We discuss the cataloging facilities building # 3 of the Technological University of Panama, which are displayed in the system. We report the use case diagram KINFO-UTP system and discuss how to combine four programming languages to enable interactivity KINFO-UTP.

Here we describe a project in which a 3D virtual reality model of the university serves as an information kiosk. The purpose of the Interactive Information Kiosk of the Technical University of Panama (KINFO-UTP) is to provide visitors and the university community with fast and dynamic information on the location of University laboratories, classrooms, administrative and faculty offices. Virtual world’s technologies, graphics engines and web programming languages were using to develop KINFO-UTP and create interoperability between a 3D design and the web interface of the application. KINFO-UTP runs under a Microsoft Windows operating system and mobile devices that support a graphical library for handling 3D graphics at all levels. El abandono en la Educacion Superior esta relacionado a una serie de factores que son objeto de e... more El abandono en la Educacion Superior esta relacionado a una serie de factores que son objeto de estudio e investigacion; uno de ellos corresponde a las experiencias previas de aprendizaje del sujeto y a la adquisicion o no de competencias que, desde las etapas escolares iniciales, le preparan para enfrentar el estudio de una carrera profesional; otros factores intervinientes son la accion pedagogica del docente como elemento fundamental en la planificacion de la ensenanza y la situacion particular de la poblacion con Necesidades Educativas Especiales asociadas o no a una discapacidad. Los objetos de aprendizaje contenidos en este portal se constituirán en nuevos recursos didácticos informáticos para apoyar el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje, permitiendo la inclusión de niños y niñas con necesidades educativas especiales con/sin discapacidades, haciendo uso de Tecnología Educativa que permita organizar, comprender y manejar las múltiples variables de cualquier situación del proceso, de aumentar la eficacia y eficiencia de éste en un sentido amplio, cuya finalidad es la calidad educativa.
