TikTok, a social media platform that integrates short videos, became a medium of instruction to help students master communication skills, in particular listening and speaking skills. This study, using mixed-methods research, investigated the effects of using the TikTok application on EFL students’ speaking skills and the students’ perceptions toward the use of the TikTok application to improve their speaking skills. Speaking tests and questionnaires were administered to 60 students enrolled in a public speaking class. Additionally, 13 students volunteered to take part in semi-structured interviews. The results showed that TikTok was effective in improving EFL students’ English-speaking skills. Moreover, students had positive perceptions towards the TikTok application. To gather insights into the selection process, stakeholders from five distinct groups, including the director of the educational service area, the director of the destination school, community leaders, lecturers, and scholarship recipients, were interviewed. This study represents the preliminary stage of analysis and process development. The research instruments consisted of (1) an opinion interview form on the scholarship recipient selection process and (2) a form for evaluating the appropriateness of the selection procedure for scholarship recipients. The data were analyzed statistically by comparing the means and standard deviations. The research findings prompted the development of a procedure for selecting scholarship recipients. In fact, the students are struggling in speaking English due to several factors such as fear of making grammatical errors, lack of confidence or limited vocabulary knowledge which led to low motivation to practice their speaking skills. The aims of this study were to investigate how the role-play technique improves the students’ speaking abilities and to explore students’ opinions towards the use of role-play techniques. This study employed pre-experimental research with a target group using a pre-test, post-test, and a questionnaire. The participants in the study were selected by employing a purposive random sampling method, which consisted of 24 sixth grade students from Ban Namon school, Kalasin province during the first semester of the academic year 2022.
