To estimate the channels three algorithms are used i.e. LS, LMMSE & Modified MMSE. These three algorithms have basically played key role in channel estimation.

In the present work, 16 channels with channel spacing of 200 GHz are modulated by optical LiNbO 3 phase modulator with non return to zero format and transmitted over 1050 km. 15 spans of combination of SSM and DCF fiber are taken and each span consists of 60 km of SSM and 10 km of DCF.The gain saturable EDFA is used as pre-amplifier to amplify the signal. The quality factor and output power of different channels are measured after 70 km, 350 km and 1050 km.

For systems operating at 10 Gb/s and above, for lower-bit-rate systems that use high-transmitted powers, the SPM can significantly increase the pulse-broadening effects of chromatic dispersion. In the present work, an alternate approach (reduction of the SPM effect by optimizing core fiber area) is suggested which, is discussed. In fact, there are different methods to reduce this effect.

PSK & QAM syatems are designed for 64 Sbcarriers. In this paper we will compare the SER for both techniques for same modulation rate and same number of subcarrier. In this paper we will show how Symbol error rate is reduced as modulation rate increases for PSK & QAM. We will use three algotihms LS, LMMSE & Modified MMSE to compare the result parameters. Modified MMSE gives better results than LS & LMSE but computational complexity will be increased that is its major drawback.
