This is problematic when the interaction between the two parties affects patterns of resource allocation, above and beyond the direct effects of migration in income and household composition. Using a unique panel dataset from Bangladesh that includes linked data on migrants and origin households, we assess the cost of information asymmetries that arise with migration. Variation in migrant travel times is used to generate variation in the cost of communication between migrants and origin households. However, because migration, as well as the destination, may be chosen with information asymmetries in mind, two sets of instrumental variables are employed: lagged employment shocks at potential destinations and historical migrant networks.

Significant differences were observed between the farmers' regarding information of pesticides (v2 = 19.679 at p < 0.05). 35% farmers of SU reported different mass communication devices as a primary source of information while 36% farmers from MU reported other farmers as their sources of information followed by pesticide dealers (28%). Proper storage and uses of personal protective equipment (PPE) were absent. However, significant differences were also observed to cover face with cloth (v2 = 22.019 at p < 0.05). Farmers of SU used partial cover 69% while in MU 48% farmers reported no covering. Only 14% and 5% of farmers reported the full use of PPE in both areas. 39% farmers and 42% farmers of the SU and MU, respectively, reported throwing empty pots into the nearby water body followed by taking home for reuse by 31% and 24%, respectively. 88% farmers of SU vs. 82% farmers of MU consumed betel leaf, tobacco or smoking during spraying. 87% in SU and 66% in MU believed that pesticide application decreased soil fertility (v2 = 12.265 at p < 0.05). About 83% farmers in SU and 24% farmers in MU reported that surface water pollution occurred due to pesticide v2 = 69.963 at p < 0.05); excessive uses of pesticides destroyed beneficial insects (v2 = 73.509 at p < 0.05). 67% farmers of SU and 26% farmers of MU responded that environmental quality was deteriorating. Canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) revealed all the background variables (education, age, farming experience, and farm ownership) had a similar contribution towards understanding the danger of pesticides impact of health and environment irrespective of rural or urban location. A DPSIR framework (drivers, pressures, state, impact, response model) for the health and environmental hazard and a conceptual model of training tools for farmers are proposed.

In this study, the Li +-ion conductivity of well-defined poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) networks synthesized via copper(I)-catalyzed azidealkyne cycloaddition is investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy after addition of different lithium salts. The ion conductivity of the network electrolytes increases with increasing molar mass of the PEO chains between the junction points which is completely opposite to the behavior of their respective uncrosslinked linear precursors. Obviously, this effect is directly related to the segmental mobility of the PEO chains. Furthermore, the ion conductivity of the network electrolytes under investigation increases also with increasing size of the anion of the added lithium salt due to a weaker anti-plasticizing effect of the more bulky anions.

Use of charge transport layers such as n-type TiO 2 and p-type doped spiroOMeTAD in a n-i-p device architecture has shown enhanced perovskite solar cell device performance. Use of doped spiroOMeTAD as hole transport layer in the n-i-p device structure has been effective but possess disadvantages such as complex processing, use of corrosive additives, processing in ambient air for efficient hole doping. Here we report the study of solution processed benzodithiophene based polymer PBDTT-FTTE as an alternative hole transport layer to doped small molecule spiroOMeTAD. PBDT-FTTE doped with 3% DIO (diiodooctane) achieved PCE of 11.6% which was comparable to matching PCE of 11.6% obtained from using spiroOMeTAD as hole transport layer. We showed that unlike spiroOMeTAD, polymer PBDTT-FTTE is processed inside N 2 filled glove box and is easier to process as compared to spiroOMeTAD which requires processing in ambient humid air and is doped with additives mixed in corrosive solvent, causing degradation to perovskite layer underneath.

It suffers from low efficiency, having complex and not fully utilized magnetic structures, among other drawbacks. In the case of lumped transmitter coils commeasurable in size with the receiver coil, which has been recently proposed for the in-motion WPT, the power transfer is intermittent with variable power transfer efficiency. Although it is characterized by a very high efficiency when the pads are aligned (>90%), high efficiency of the overall energy transfer will be maintained only if the transmitter coil is energized in a proper, synchronized manner with respect to the position of the receiver coil. Considering the actual state of communication and sensing technology, identification of the actual position of the receiver pad in realtime would be a very challenging task and no reliable solution has been proposed so far in the WPT arena. This paper provides a thorough analysis of the power transfer characteristics of an in-motion system with lumped coils, meaning the analytic description of time-varying power transfer and efficiency profiles. Possible compensation topologies are studied and the most suitable structure is selected. A control algorithm is proposed to control the amount of energy transferred to the receiver, without the utilization of any position detection system. The energizing profiles are designed to maximize energy efficiency, while at the same time transferring the required amount of energy to the receiver. The control algorithm is analyzed by using analytical modeling of the WPT system and then verified by MATLAB-Simulink simulation tool. A scaled-down hardware prototype is developed and employed to test the operation of the control algorithm for different transferred energies.

Research paper thumbnail of Stiffness Ratio of a Direct Fixation Fastener

International Conference on Transportation and Development 2016, 2016

The dynamic amplification of stiffness or stiffness ratio is used as a qualification and producti... more The dynamic amplification of stiffness or stiffness ratio is used as a qualification and production test for the procurement of direct fixation fastener (DFF) to ensure vibration isolation and reduce impact load to the concrete invert. According to American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) design criteria, stiffness ratio should not be greater than 1.5. As per Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP), the limit is 1.3. There should be a basis to set the upper limit of stiffness ratio. In this paper, an analysis on dynamic amplification of stiffness of a ballasted track is done to formulate stiffness ratio which is used to determine the stiffness ratio of a DFF, because a DFF track is simulated to have the resiliency of a ballasted track. It is demonstrated that the stiffness ratio is not linearly related with the damping, and a damping ratio over 0.5 is preferable for a track. Finally, stiffness ratio of a DFF is suggested.

Research paper thumbnail of Acute myopericarditis presenting as effusive-constrictive pericarditis– a case report

Limited clinical data on the causes of myopericarditis suggest that viral infections are among the most common causes in developed countries. Cardiotropic viruses can cause pericardial and myocardial in ammation via direct cytolytic or cytotoxic e ects and/or subsequent immune-mediated mechanisms. Many cases of myopericarditis are subclinical. In other patients, cardiac symptoms and signs are over shadowed by systemic manifestations of infection or in ammation. e increased sensitivity of troponin assay and contemporary widespread use of troponins has greatly increased the reported number of cases. Management is similar to that reported for pericarditis, generally with a empiric anti-in ammatory drugs mainly aimed to control symptoms. Rest and avoidance of physical activity beyond normal sedentary activities has been recommended for 6 months is recommended as for myocarditis. At present, there is no evidence that troponin elevation confers worse prognosis (i.e. a greater risk of recurrence, death or transplantation) in patients with preserved left ventricular function. Usually complete remission is seen in 3 to 6 months. We report here a case of a 18 year young man with acute myopericarditis who presented with transient e usive-constrictive pericarditis.

It can provide ways to design and implement relatively inexpensive systems particularly for security aspects. In this paper, we have proposed a digital access control system that can be employed to a protected area where none but people with authenticated credentials can enter. In fact, we have implemented the system in the server room of an educational Institute to test its efficiency as well as expenditure. The implemented system comprises of digital door lock which is unlock able in real time to ensure secured access specifying activation, authentication and validation of users prior to bringing the RFID card close to the reader. The entire system is associated with a central client-server subsystem to ensure and maintain the overall system integrity. Associated subsystem also generates a log report to maintain check-in and check-out status of visitors in accordance with the primary credentials of each. This system will certainly provide an idea about the design and installation of a relatively inexpensive security system which is suitable in the perspective of a developing country like Bangladesh.

This paper introduces a programming with Matlab code that changes the analytical representation of Abbe's method to the matrix form, which has advantages for both Abbe's method and SOCS since matrix calculation is easier than double integration over object plane or pupil plane. First a singular matrix P is derived from a pupil function and effective light source in the spatial frequency domain. By applying Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) to the matrix P, eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are obtained. The aerial image can then be computed by the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions without calculation of Transmission Cross Coefficient (TCC). The aerial final image is almost identical as an original cross mask and the intensity distribution on image plane shows that it is almost uniform across the linewidth of the mask.

The control algorithm is analyzed by using analytical modeling of the WPT system and then verified by MATLAB-Simulink simulation tool. A scaled-down hardware prototype is developed and employed to test the operation of the control algorithm for different transferred energies.

Among them, thousands of students apply to several universities at the same time where they have to provide virtually identical information that mired massive data redundancy, low resource utilization and difficulty in resource retrieval as universities have their own repository that implemented by omni online application system. Nevertheless, the essence of Computer Technology is now swelling in such an extend though we can use this as beneficial to steadfastness over aforementioned complexities. Subsequently, a shared cloud based system, which have ample scope; evokes for uniform distribution of resources among the wide range university at very stratum. In this treatise, we are proffering an architecture of Cloud Computing; an expansion of Computer’s Latest technology, for storing information in a centralized repository that can be used by every stratification for analogous aspects of University Authority those approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission of Bangladesh); which is indispensable to lead the diminution of data redundancy. Moreover, we delineate the commensurate analysis of our incentive architecture with the existing one to elucidate the salience along with ingenuousness of the envision architecture over the current one.
