In this study, we examine simulation models of shunt, separately excited and permanent magnet dir... more In this study, we examine simulation models of shunt, separately excited and permanent magnet direct current motor dynamic behavior during starting, steady state and stopping time (electrical braking) for dynamic simulation of electromechanical energy conversion using MATHEMATICA 10 environment. It is surly important to control the speed; keep it constant and reduce it safely with desired time while the direct current motor is fulfilling the requested torque. Therefore, we designed a complete direct current motor operation system and analyzed its performance by using MATHEMATICA 10 Software. In order to simulate the direct current motor, three types of identical motor parameters such as separately excited, shunt, and permanent magnet, based on the catalogue values, are constructed.

In this paper, the hall sensor's location for the optimal operating range of a bipolar brushless ... more In this paper, the hall sensor's location for the optimal operating range of a bipolar brushless direct current motor (BLDCM) have been investigated experimentally. It is quite a difficult task to determine the exact and accurate rotor position to locate the hall sensor in a way that will have the most efficient impact on the operation parameters of a motor. In addition to theoretical work, experimental studies are required to operate a motor in steady state conditions. Therefore, special attention is being paid while measuring harmonic, torque, and speed values depending on the hall sensor's position. Experimental results of BLDCM are discussed and comparative analysis is performed. The results of this study are supported by theoretical information as well.

Brushless direct current (BLDC) motor which is widely preferred due to its high efficiency and lo... more Brushless direct current (BLDC) motor which is widely preferred due to its high efficiency and low maintenance requirements, is commonly used in the aviation industry, robotic systems, and electric vehicles. In this study, dimensions and their interdependencies of BLDC motor were calculated, analysed, and optimized. At first, experiments and simulations have been carried out to obtain reference parameters. Afterward, slot dimensions have been studied in particular. After checking that the experimental data and simulation data are compatible, optimization studies were carried out. In addition, magnet thickness, skewness, magnet type, embrace and steel type were parametrically investigated in detail. As a result, the improved efficiency value as well as effect of the rated parameters on the efficiency was successfully determined and ssimulation results accomplishing performance characteristics were presented.

Fırçasız DA Motorlar (FSDAM) güç elektroniği ve kontrol teknolojisindeki gelişmelere bağlı olarak... more Fırçasız DA Motorlar (FSDAM) güç elektroniği ve kontrol teknolojisindeki gelişmelere bağlı olarak yüksek performanslı kontrol sistemlerinde yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Elektronik olarak anahtarlanan bu motorlarda, salınım olmadan konum denetiminin yapılması arzu edilen bir durumdur. FSDAM kontrol yöntemlerinin asıl amacı motorun verimli bir şekilde kontrol edilmesi üzerine kurulmuştur. Bunu gerçekleştirmek için farklı yapıda çalışmalar mevcuttur. Bu çalışmada, PWM kontrol yöntemi ile Histerisiz Bant Kontrolünün, moment kontrolü, hız kontrolü yönünden karşılaştırılması Matlab®/Simulink® programı ile bilgisayar ortamında yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma sonucunda tasarlanan denetleyicinin, daha az salınımlı hızlı bir dinamik cevaba sahip olduğu görülmüştür.

The two-dimensional heat conduction problem is studied using the boundary element method (BEM). Linear elements are used in the solution procedure. The numerical results have been compared with the results of the finite element method (FEM). Three different widely - used ferromagnetic materials have been examined in the analysis.

Three examples are presented: Lossless (nondissipating) long line system (one dimesion wave equation), a linear telegraph equation and nonlinear Klein Gordon equation. The study outlines the significant features of both methods. The results show that these methods are very efficient, convenient and can be applied to a large class of problems
Abstract The aim of the present study is to familiarize students with the parameters of a brushle... more Abstract The aim of the present study is to familiarize students with the parameters of a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor and its driving circuits, with particular emphasis on the dynamic motor behavior from stable working to the transient operating phase. A BLDC motor experimental set and MATLAB real time simulation program are designed and improved to control a BLDC motor’s parameters in a laboratory environment. The characteristics of the operating parameters are mathematically and graphically presented in a trial. BLDC motor driving characteristics are given in detail to support students’ theoretical understanding. This study is intended to provide to students with all the necessary theoretical knowledge including MATLAB real time simulation program, with the best practical observation on the subject. Furthermore, the driving circuit card is designed and constructed to provide to the students simple, clear and easily understood data for a general overview of BLDC motors. K...
This study presents a method for computing thermal properties of an actuator and compares various... more This study presents a method for computing thermal properties of an actuator and compares various magnetic materials. The two-dimensional heat conduction problem is studied using the boundary element method (BEM) with Poisson equivalence. Linear elements are used in the solution procedure. The temperature distribution in the ferromagnetic body is evaluated under stationary condition. The numerical results have been compared with the results of the finite element method (FEM). Numerical experiments have been carried out on soft ferromagnetic materials such as silicon steel iron; mild iron; pure iron and amorf and results the temperature distribution are graphed.

This paper reviews electrostatic field distribution (EM) using the finite element method (FEM) programming language Mathematica 6.0 and MATLAB. The results from the two different programs were tested using the finite difference method (FD). Computer programs and formulations of the finite element technique have been constructed to make the concept more understandable and explicit for engineering students and practicing engineers.

Klasik doğru akım makinalarındaki teori ve deneylerle ispatlanmış, motoru en verimli haliyle çalıştıran rotor ve stotormagnetik eksenleri arasındaki 90 0 ye karşılık gelen açı, BLDCM'de teorik olarak 60 0 ile 120 0 olarak belirlendiğinden bu değerler için motor parametrelerine yansıyan avantajlar ve dezavantajlar deneysel verilerle araştırılmıştır. BLDCM'de rotor pozisyonun tam ve doğru bir şekilde belirlenmesi, başka bir deyişle; hallsensörlerin motorun çalışma parametrelerine etkisinin en verimli olacak şekilde yerleştirilmesi oldukça zor bir iştir. Teorik çalışmaların yanında titizlikle yapılması gereken deneysel çalışmalarda gereklidir. Bu çalışmada BLDCM'nin verimli çalışması için gerekli olan moment ve akım değerlerinin yanında, akım harmonik değerleri (THD) de ölçülmüş ve karşılaştırmalı bir analiz yapılmıştır. Bu araştırma çalışmasının sonuçları teorik bilgilerle de desteklenmiştir.
This study used an artificial neural network model to estimate the revolutions per minute of a br... more This study used an artificial neural network model to estimate the revolutions per minute of a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor operating at different driver modes and different load currents. The dataset that was used to train and test the artificial neural network model was obtained from experimental applications and was made applicable for the training of a multilayer perceptron. A total of 7643 data items were used in the study. Of these data, 382 were used to test the ANN model. Test results indicated that the multilayer perceptron provided 99.34% estimation and that the target and the results were quite close. Streszczenie.
