In Indonesia, as the highest Muslim population country worldwide, patriarchy systems are correlat... more In Indonesia, as the highest Muslim population country worldwide, patriarchy systems are correlated with Islamic norms and values used for controlling human behavior, including the relationships of men and women. Addressing this issues, Muslim women try to expand their capabilities by migrating to Hong Kong as migrant workers. This research aims to study Indonesian Muslim women in Hong Kong based on their gender identity and religious value. A qualitative method was used. Applying purposive samples, research focused on Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong who joined a Muslim community. Research found that women's transformation is strengthened by gender and religion, which used for reinforcing as Muslim Indonesian migrant worker activities and Muslim women community practices among Javanese Muslim women at Hong Kong. Research found that migration roles as a part of Muslim women new value, which is give a flexibility for Muslim women for working abroad as the transformation. In addition, Muslim women transformation in Hong Kong not only interpreted as individual norms but also manifested in collective activities during their leisure time in Hong Kong for strengthening Muslims women identity.

Village resources, both natural resources and human resources, are important assets to be managed and maximized for the village’s gain. The village government plays an important role in management and must have a supportive strategy to achieve its goals. This research aimed to determine the resources owned by Pecuk Village in Tulungagung and what procedures have been carried out by the village government to maximize the potential of these village resources. Descriptive qualitative methods were used. The results indicated that Pecuk Village is one of the villages where the BUMDes (village-owned enterprises) do not work because there is no explicit coordination between village leaders and the community. Various gender-biased films still place women as weak and only occupy tasks in the domestic spher... more Various gender-biased films still place women as weak and only occupy tasks in the domestic sphere. There is still a public perception that women cannot carry out significant tasks in the public sector. This study aims to represent girl power and the resistance to female domestication through film media based on these problems. This study uses a qualitative method of John Fiske's semiotic analysis, including the code level of reality, representation, and ideology. The study results show that the power of women in the Charlie's Angel (2019) movie has intellectual abilities. They can become a leader, fighting negative stereotypes of society by maximizing the power of skills possessed, including self-defense, disguise, shooting, and a programmer who can hack security. The women in this film prove their resistance to women's domestication by working in the public sector, namely in an international-scale investigative security organization called the Townsend Agency.

E-commerce applications can expand product sales, in addition to promotions that are carried out without incurring costs. This service program aims to increase sales of Samiler cracker products through the application of e-commerce applications so that they can be reached by a wider range of consumers. Accordingly, observation was conducted to find out how to produce samiler cracker. Furthermore, interviews were also conducted to determine the ability of producers to utilize and manage information technology for business progress. In addition, assistance was provided in building market networks through the Shopee and Tokopedia applications, operationalizing e-commerce applications, and visualizing samiler crackers products. The results of the program show that the producers of samiler crackers understand and are able to operate ecommerce applications and develop market networks.

Melalui informasi yang diberikan, diharapkan dapat meminimalisir jumlah korban terdampak letusan Gunung Kelud. The learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic requires effective and efficient communication.... more The learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic requires effective and efficient communication. This research was conducted to find out the interpersonal communication provided by teachers through the level of mastery of information technology in the online learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic. The respondents of the study were teachers who were scattered in West Java. The research approach is using a quantitative approach with an explanative method. The results showed that teachers in West Java can recognize information technology tools and are able to use communication tools and applications for online learning. Mastery of teacher technology relates to interpersonal communication which is seen based on aspects of friendliness, attentiveness, openness, argumentation, and responsiveness. Teacher's ability to manage communication technology during online learning relates to optimal online learning. Thus, the teacher's communication skills are related to the ease of implementing the online learning process through available communication tools.

I... more This study aims to increase the tourism potential in Osing Kemiren Village, Banyuwangi Regency. Increasing tourism potential is carried out in two ways, namely (1) increasing knowledge and skills in managing social media accounts, and (2) increasing knowledge and skills in operating social media accounts. Changing society's pattern in socializing demands the community's readiness to carry out the promotion process. The low level of community knowledge and skills in managing social accounts is the reason for this mentoring process. This community service activity is carried out through assistance with the RPA (participatory rural appraisal) approach and the AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) model. Through this activity the community is trained to optimize the tourism potential of the Osing tribe in the traditional village of Kemiren. In order to that, the tourism potential and all tourism supporting sectors in the Osing Traditional Village increase and impact the welfare of the surrounding community.

This research was quantitative research in the form of descriptive statistics using survey methods in data collection. The survey was given to 139 high school teachers who live in Java. The validity of the research instrument was tested by using the product-moment correlation test. While the reliability of the research instrument was tested utilizing the Cronbach Alpha reliability test, the result of this study is that high school teachers have a high level of use of digital technology. Besides, it was also found that age affects the ability to use technology. The higher the teacher's age, the lower their ability to use digital technology. Similar to Bundo Kanduang in West Sumatra, Tunggu Tubang in Semende community, South Sumatra is t... more Similar to Bundo Kanduang in West Sumatra, Tunggu Tubang in Semende community, South Sumatra is the practice to task the eldest daughter in the family take care and preserve the customary traditions. On the one hand, tunggu tubang tradition puts women in a respectable position, but on the other hand, these tunggu tubang women do not have the power to carry out their duties, which is referred to by communication studies as a silenced group. A standpoint from the communication studies needs to be developed because communication is one of the important keys in the dissemination of cultural values and norms. The research question is how the silencing process occurs among tunggu tubang. Data collection was done from a one-year long observation and intensive interviews conducted in two weeks. Resource persons were selected purposively and two rich informants were selected to support the research. The results of the research show that tunggu tubang is a muted-group because they cannot voice opinions or anxiety about their position which has actually put obligation and pressures on them. They are taught to familiarize themselves with all the losses and sacrifices they have to make related to their position. This self-habituation is silencing tunggu tuban in the process of internalization. They are taught to accept, not to protest because it will harm them socially and spiritually.

There are four main components in Entmant framing analysis: define problem, diagnose causes, make moral judgement and treatment recommendation.. the result shows that Kompas.com tried to make a positive image for Social Affairs Ministry. Kompas.com also tried to highlight another side of Juliari Batubara such as focusing in his personal wealth and his achievement prior to serving as Social Affairs Minister. Spirulina merupakan makanan sehat yang semakin banyak dikonsumsi masyarakat saat ini. Terlebih di... more Spirulina merupakan makanan sehat yang semakin banyak dikonsumsi masyarakat saat ini. Terlebih di masa pandemic Covid-19, kebutuhan masyarakat akan makanan sehat semakin meningkat. Spirulina memiliki beberapa kelebihan yaitu mampu membersihkan organ liver dari zatzat berbahaya yang dihasilkan asap rokok, alcohol maupun minuman keras lainnya. Selain itu bioreactor spirulina mampu menyerap emisi karbon 400 kali lebih baik daripada sebatang pohon. Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat di bidang marketing dan media membuat para pelaku usaha sedikit kelimpungan dalam melakukan kegiatan promosi. Teknologi saat ini memaksa pelaku usaha UKM untuk membuat konten promosi di media sosial tersebut. Salah satu bentuknya adalah video profil. Tim pengabdian kemudian membuat sebuah video profil untuk UKM Verte Bleue Spirulina. Video profil ini tidak hanya digunakan sebagai sarana promosi tetapi juga sebagai sarana edukasi dan penguat identitas UKM Verte Bleue Spirulina sebagai satu-satunya UKM pembudidaya spirulina di Kota Malang. Dampaknya, masyarakat pun akan semakin mengenal spirulina sebagai salah satu sumber makanan sehat. Tim pengabdian melakukan koordinasi dengan Mitra dan Tim videographer untuk menentukan konsep video profil yang akan dibuat. Pengambilan video dilakukan di kediaman Mitra oleh tim videographer profesional, dan menghasilkan video profil dengan durasi 10 menit. Video ini profil ini dapat meningkatkan identitas UKM VB Spirulina dan sebagai sarana edukasi untuk lebih mengenalkan spirulina kepada masyarakat umum.

E-commerce applications can expand product sales, in addition to promotions that are carried out without incurring costs. This service program aims to increase sales of Samiler cracker products through the application of e-commerce applications so that they can be reached by a wider range of consumers. Accordingly, observation was conducted to find out how to produce samiler cracker. Furthermore, interviews were also conducted to determine the ability of producers to utilize and manage information technology for business progress. In addition, assistance was provided in building market networks through the Shopee and Tokopedia applications, operationalizing e-commerce applications, and visualizing samiler crackers products. The results of the program show that the producers of samiler crackers understand and are able to operate ecommerce applications and develop market networks.

The learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic requires effective and efficient communication.... more The learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic requires effective and efficient communication. This research was conducted to find out the interpersonal communication provided by teachers through the level of mastery of information technology in the online learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic. The respondents of the study were teachers who were scattered in West Java. The research approach is using a quantitative approach with an explanative method. The results showed that teachers in West Java can recognize information technology tools and are able to use communication tools and applications for online learning. Mastery of teacher technology relates to interpersonal communication which is seen based on aspects of friendliness, attentiveness, openness, argumentation, and responsiveness. Teacher's ability to manage communication technology during online learning relates to optimal online learning. Thus, the teacher's communication skills are related to the ease of implementing the online learning process through available communication tools.

Increasing tourism potential is carried out in two ways, namely (1) increasing knowledge and skills in managing social media accounts, and (2) increasing knowledge and skills in operating social media accounts. Changing society's pattern in socializing demands the community's readiness to carry out the promotion process. The low level of community knowledge and skills in managing social accounts is the reason for this mentoring process. This community service activity is carried out through assistance with the RPA (participatory rural appraisal) approach and the AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) model. Through this activity the community is trained to optimize the tourism potential of the Osing tribe in the traditional village of Kemiren. In order to that, the tourism potential and all tourism supporting sectors in the Osing Traditional Village increase and impact the welfare of the surrounding community.

The validity of the research instrument was tested by using the product-moment correlation test. While the reliability of the research instrument was tested utilizing the Cronbach Alpha reliability test, the result of this study is that high school teachers have a high level of use of digital technology. On the one hand, tunggu tubang tradition puts women in a respectable position, but on the other hand, these tunggu tubang women do not have the power to carry out their duties, which is referred to by communication studies as a silenced group. A standpoint from the communication studies needs to be developed because communication is one of the important keys in the dissemination of cultural values and norms. The research question is how the silencing process occurs among tunggu tubang. Data collection was done from a one-year long observation and intensive interviews conducted in two weeks. Resource persons were selected purposively and two rich informants were selected to support the research. The results of the research show that tunggu tubang is a muted-group because they cannot voice opinions or anxiety about their position which has actually put obligation and pressures on them. They are taught to familiarize themselves with all the losses and sacrifices they have to make related to their position. This self-habituation is silencing tunggu tuban in the process of internalization. They are taught to accept, not to protest because it will harm them socially and spiritually.

Terlebih di masa pandemic Covid-19, kebutuhan masyarakat akan makanan sehat semakin meningkat. Spirulina memiliki beberapa kelebihan yaitu mampu membersihkan organ liver dari zatzat berbahaya yang dihasilkan asap rokok, alcohol maupun minuman keras lainnya. Selain itu bioreactor spirulina mampu menyerap emisi karbon 400 kali lebih baik daripada sebatang pohon. Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat di bidang marketing dan media membuat para pelaku usaha sedikit kelimpungan dalam melakukan kegiatan promosi. Teknologi saat ini memaksa pelaku usaha UKM untuk membuat konten promosi di media sosial tersebut. Salah satu bentuknya adalah video profil. Tim pengabdian kemudian membuat sebuah video profil untuk UKM Verte Bleue Spirulina. Video profil ini tidak hanya digunakan sebagai sarana promosi tetapi juga sebagai sarana edukasi dan penguat identitas UKM Verte Bleue Spirulina sebagai satu-satunya UKM pembudidaya spirulina di Kota Malang. Dampaknya, masyarakat pun akan semakin mengenal spirulina sebagai salah satu sumber makanan sehat. Tim pengabdian melakukan koordinasi dengan Mitra dan Tim videographer untuk menentukan konsep video profil yang akan dibuat. Pengambilan video dilakukan di kediaman Mitra oleh tim videographer profesional, dan menghasilkan video profil dengan durasi 10 menit. Video ini profil ini dapat meningkatkan identitas UKM VB Spirulina dan sebagai sarana edukasi untuk lebih mengenalkan spirulina kepada masyarakat umum.
