As we have adopted the concept of interconnected power system, the role of substation is become m... more As we have adopted the concept of interconnected power system, the role of substation is become more important. Substation connects generation station to the distributor or to the end consumer via transmission system depending upon the types of substation. Activities like switching of transmission lines, parameter measurement, fault detection and storing of historical data are carried out in each of the substation premises. Earlier time this all activities was carried out manually, as complexity of system increase the role of substation become crucial and we need to move towards the use of IEDs and Automation. Activities carried out at substation can broadly classify in to three term i.e. supervision, control and Data acquisition. In an automated substation this all three will done using Programmable Logic controller and SCADA. For system monitoring or supervision data is given to controllers from RTU. Control command according to system parameter is produced by PLC and SCADA provides a human machine interference. Substation automation systems make their control and monitoring possible in real time and maximize availability, reliability and safety of the system.

This paper also involves designing of 3 machine 9 bus system using MATLAB simulation. This model is very useful for study of stability analysis but is limited to the study of transients for only the "first swing" or for periods on the order of one second. The system is made stable by removing faulted line of given multi-machine. For Ybus simulation M-file is been used and final results is plotted. I. INTRODUCTION Transient stability analysis has recently become a major issue in the operation of power systems due to the increasing stress on power system networks. This problem requires evaluation of a power system's ability to withstand disturbances while maintaining the quality of service. AC bridges are principally used for the determinations of component values and the associated parameters namely the self-inductance, mutual inductance, capacitance etc. In this paper the authors have presented a novel method using latest computing and analysis tools to investigate the capacitor ageing of a popular capacitor used in day to day life using a non-conventional AC bridge like circuit.

A quad-rotor helicopter (i.e. QUADCOPTER) is an aircraft whose lift is generated by four propellers driven by rotors. The control mechanism of such an aircraft consists of four Brushless DC motors whose speeds are varied relative to each other. In order to allow for stable flight of the quad-rotor, the control system employed must be fastidious. Uncontrolled flight of a quad-rotor would be practically impossible by one operator, as the system demand constant adjustment of four motors simultaneously. Generally the speed and rotation of a quadcopter is adjusted with the help of remote control. However in order to get rid of bulky remote controls speed and rotation can be controlled by the use of a sensor which detects the motion of hand and will change its direction accordingly.

In this paper the authors have fed the readings to a special purpose MATLAB program and confirmed the exact angle between the two line voltages and hence the vector groups.
