Chandler showed that at 75 DAT the plant height attained maximum of 20.50 cm, spread (25.53 cm) leaf number per plant (23.00), petiole length (0.20 cm), leaf area (136.30 cm 2 ) and yield (356.56 g/plant) respectively, of strawberry was obtained highest with the application of GA 75 mg/L while, cycocel 750 mg/lresulted in minimum days taken to first flowering (61.66 DAT) and fruit formation (66.66 DAT). The maximum number of flowers per plant were recorded as 30.22 and number of berries (24.80) with application of GA 75 mg/L.

The experiment was laid out in factorial randomized block design (FRBD) with four different dates of transplanting, viz. 15 October, 31 October, 15 November and 30 November and four type of mulches, viz. black polyethylene, white polyethylene, bio-mulch (paddy straw) and control (without mulch) replicated thrice. Tomato cultivar Azad T-6 was used in experiment. Results of the experiment revealed that the minimum weed population (4.43 and 4.26/m2) and weeds fresh weight (9.52 and 9.15 g/m2) and significantly highest marketable yield (30610 and 31418 kg/ha) and net returns (` 241460.50 and 249538.00/ha) were recorded in crop transplanted on 30 Octo...

Pusa KTS-1. The experiment comprised of twelve treatments consisting of different combinations of organic and inorganic fertilizers. The experimental field was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) with three replications. All variable parameters regarding yield behaviour were significantly influenced by integrated nutrient management practices. Results indicated that combined application of 80% NPK + 2 t/ha vermicompost gave the significant effect on yield attributing parameters viz., head diameter (21.33 cm), number of spear per plant (13.00), head weight (332.33 gm) and yield (162.84 q/ha) as compared to other treatments.

Pant Rituraj at Crop Cafeteria, Galgotias University, Grater Noida. The experimental field was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) with three replications. The experimental treatments comprised of three organic manures viz. Farmyard Manure, Vermicompost and poultry manure in combination with two bio-fertilizers, namely Azospirillumand Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB). All variable parameters regarding vegetative and yield were significantly influenced by different combinations of organic manures and bio-fertilizers. Result indicated that a combined application of organic manure and bio-fertilizers i.e.Vermicompost (50%) + Poultry manure (50%) + Azospirillumgave the significantly better response in respect to vegetative parameters and yield parameters and maximum plant height, number of branches per plant, numbe...

The per cent heterosis over mid-parent and superior parent was worked out for yield and yield related attributes. The crosses namely KS-501×E-6, KS-156×E-6, AP-3×E-6 and AP-1×E-6 over superior parent; AP-2×AP-3, AP-4×E-6, AP-2×E-6 and KS-149×AP-2 over mid parent were superior in terms of heterosis along with the mean performance of yield per plant indicating the potential of selected hybrids over existing homozygous parental lines, and exploitation of dispersion of alleles between the parents and mean directional dominance gene action in crop improvement.

Sixteen parents were used as line and three as tester. The hybrids along with their parents were evaluated to assess heterosis. Among the hybrids, EC322748 X Rachna has recorded maximum heterosis as well as good performance for grain yield with 337.50 and 136 percent heterosis over better parent and standard variety respectively followed by EC-322748 x Pant P-5 with 300.0 and 116.22 percent heterosis over better parent and standard check respectively. These crosses also found to be good performer in terms of days to maturity, plant height, productive branches per plant and harvest index. High heterosis for seed yield demonstrates the presence of commercially exploitable magnitude of heterosis which can bring the quantum jump in productivity of field pea.
