Research paper thumbnail of The awareness and willingness to pay of consumers for imported fruits with food safety certification

Results from the survey revealed that the consumers are very concerned about the current situation of the unsafe fruit markets. They are also not satisfied with their own safety measures when consuming fruits. Estimates from the double-bounded Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) showed that on the average, the consumers are willing to pay an additional amount of 28.25 thousand VND/kg for imported fruits guaranteed with food safety. This relatively high level of WTP indicates that food safety policy for imported fruits can be implemented in practice with the financial fund obtained from the price differences between imported fruits with and without food safety guarantee

L’arbitrage est l’institution par laquelle un tiers règle le différend qui oppose deux ou plusieurs parties. Ce mode de règlement de la crise est connu depuis longtemps au Vietnam. An increasing number of students are attending higher education institutions for further studies.... more An increasing number of students are attending higher education institutions for further studies. There are a lot of resources being spent by government and the private sector alike on supporting the students and running the institutions. This makes student success in higher education a topic close to the heart of not only educators, and administrators in higher education, but also for government departments and philanthropists alike. Several studies have been done on predictors and determinants of students' failure in higher education. The studies focused on different factors, some of them with contradictory findings and most of all conducted for different purposes. This paper will critically review the existing studies with the aim informing educators and policy makers on the predictors of students' success. Attendance, past academic performance, program of study, demographics including gender and age were all seen as predictors of students' success. The studies were also conducted using different methodologies ranging from data mining models which extracted data from Learning Management systems (LMS) to data analytics using students' demographic and academic information. Although most of the studies focused on the predictors based on demographics, past performance, attendance, students' perception on their learning environment and their course studies, a few of them were focused on getting the students to give their side of the story as to why they underperformed and this would be a good area for further research on this topic.
