Maize fodder was cultivated as a control (T 0 : 0 kg of slurry N ha-1) and with 3 different levels of biogas slurry-T 1 (60 kg of slurry N ha-1), T 2 (70 kg of slurry N ha-1), and T 3 (82 kg of slurry N ha-1)-in a randomized block design. The parameters studied were plant height, stem circumference, number of leaves, leaf area, dry matter yield, and nutrient contents in maize fodder. Maize plant height and stem circumference were significantly (P < 0.01) influenced by increasing the rate of biogas slurry 14, 28, 42, and 56 days after sowing. The number of leaves in fodder plants did not differ significantly, but leaf area significantly (P < 0.01) differed between the treatment groups. The highest maize fodder biomass yield was observed in T 2 (54.12 t ha-1). In the case of crude protein, a significant difference (P < 0.01) was observed between the treatment groups and the highest value was also observed in T 2 (11.91%). A significant difference was also observed in dry matter (P < 0.05) and ash (P < 0.01) content between the treatment groups, but not in acid detergent fiber (ADF) or neutral detergent fiber (NDF). Based on these results, it may be concluded that the application of approximately 70 kg of biogas slurry N ha-1 will improve the production of biomass and nutrient content in maize fodder.

Method: Base line and end line survey conducted on the basis of which an educational intervention programme was planned, implemented and evaluated. The total number of respondents was 51, which includes boys and girls who were selected purposively. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire before and after intervention. Intervention programme was conducted through face to face interview and group discussion using flip charts, pamphlets, brouchers, and chalk board, as teaching aid. Result: The study shows more than 70 % of children didn’t know that proper hand washing can prevent skin diseases and more than 85 % didn’t know that cough is prevented by hand washing. After the intervention every student became familiar to the name of diseases spread through improper hand washing. Response of the participants was quiet satisfactory. Concl...

To address this issue a number of super resolution (SR) methods have been proposed to improve the resolution of 3D MRI volumes. These methods typically involve the use of

Sheep maintained at a Research Station (low land) were referred as LLP, whereas, those shifted to high land / alpine pasture (during June-September) were referred as HLP and reared for 60 days. Animal in both the groups were allowed to graze for 8-10 hours without any concentrate feeding. Pasture at HLP were observed to be nutritious (P<0.05) than at LLP. Body weight gain, blood haemoglobin (Hb) and glucose of lambs reared at HLP was higher (P<0.05) than in animals reared at LLP. Wool yield and wool quality in terms of staple length, fiber diameter, number of crimps and scouring yield was better (P>0.05) at HLP than that at LLP. The results indicated that overall performance of sheep reared at ...

To address this issue, compressed sensing (CS) techniques have recently been applied to allow under-sampling of the k-space data providing faster acquisition times. To reconstruct the image from the under-sampled measurements, a number of image reconstruction methods have been used. These techniques typically make use of l1-regularization and sparsifying transforms such as the wavelet transform. In this paper, we present a wavelet domain reconstruction method that utilises wavelet regularization with a Gaussian scale mixture (GSM) model prior combined with a Total Variation (TV) constraint in the complex wavelet domain. Our results show that, when compared to the results of previous approaches, the volume reconstructed using our proposed method has superior quality both visually and quantitatively.

Present approach treats the face identification problem as an intrinsically two-dimensional (2-D) identification problem rather than requiring recovery of three-dimensional geometry, taking advantage of the fact that faces are normally upright and thus may be described by a small set of 2-D characteristic views. The system functions by ...
