Numerous methods for the synthesis of pyrimidine and also their diverse reactions offer enormous scope in the field of medicinal chemistry. Pyrimidine posses wide spectrum of biological activities like including antitubercular, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiinflammatory, Antimalarial, anticancer, anti-HIV activity. The present review attempts to give a brief information about the synthesis and various biological activities of pyimidines and their derivatives.
