Horror is one of the most popular literary genres and one of the most studied in the world. With ... more Horror is one of the most popular literary genres and one of the most studied in the world. With the rise of the internet horror can also be found online, in particular as a type of stories called the "creepypasta". There have been a number of studies and discussions on creepypasta, but there seems to be too few studies on creepypasta that focus on the narrative structure. The way horror stories are constructed has been examined by American philosopher Noël Carroll who explains the structure of horror narratives and how it can be used to produce the desired horror effect. The theory used in this research is the plot structure and suspense as stated by Carroll. The central question of this research is how to explain the structures of plot and suspense in a creepypasta story, in light of Carroll's theory. The creepypasta selected for this study is "Abandoned by Disney" by Christopher Howard Wolf (pen name Slimebeast). The analysis is conducted using qualitative content analysis method. The findings show that the plot structure corresponds to Carroll's complex-discovery plot, with a longer onset stage, where the story's monster is foreshadowed, and a shorter discovery stage, where the monster is revealed. The suspense, in the form of story questions generated in the reader, corresponds to the plot stages; the longer onset stage generates more questions to sustain suspense, and the discovery stage generates fewer questions as the monster is revealed. The story ending, however, leaves a final question that generates a sort of suspense to maintain the overall mystery or creepiness of the story.

The objectives of this research are to describe the implementation of the rights and duties of th... more The objectives of this research are to describe the implementation of the rights and duties of the owners of cultural properties (Cagar Budaya) in Malang City, especially the buildings of Cor Jesu School and Kayutangan Church, as well as to describe the responsibilities of the local government in protecting the buildings stipulated as cultural properties as stated in the Law Number 11 of 2010 on Cultural Properties. The status as "cultural property" is stipulated by local government through a recommendation by a Team of Experts in Cultural Property. After the stipulation, the rights and liabilities of the owner of such cultural property take effect and the protection of the property becomes the responsibility of the local government. The approach of this research is empirical, conducted by doing in-depth interviews with the owners of cultural properties, some informants such as the Cultural and Tourism Department of Malang City, and with the Assessor of Cultural Property for those buildings. This approach is done after identifying the rights, duties, and responsibilities dealing with the cultural proprties as stipulated in the Law Number 11 of 2010 on Cultural Property. It is concluded that the law as it is written in the Law still takes great efforts to be implemented in reality, in order to fulfill the requirements stated in the Law.

The State/Government as copyright holder of TCE is also a false concept as it is a political entity that has no right to hold the moral and economic rights. Regulating TCE in different laws raises "overlapping" legal consequences. A sui generis law might be more appropriate for cultural heritage protection as it specifies the policy objectives, subject matter, criteria, the owner of the rights, the kind of and the way the rights are administered and enforced, as well as when the rights are lost and expire.

Protection of traditional culture and knowledge has been a concern in Indonesia. Efforts that hav... more Protection of traditional culture and knowledge has been a concern in Indonesia. Efforts that have been made to legally protect Indonesian traditional expressions and knowledge usually involve intellectual property (IP) laws. However, the protection provided by IP laws may be inadequate for Indonesian traditional communities that care more about the survival and maintenance of their culture and knowledge than the legal exclusivity of their works. This study uses a normative legal approach with the perspective of hermeneutic circle to look at various studies and legal documents to find reasons why IP laws may not be entirely suitable for the Indonesian context and how an IP-based law can be designed to suit the actual needs of Indonesian traditional expression holders. Target khusus yang akan dicapai adalah: 1) dipahaminya hak dan kewajiban yang dimiliki pencipta atas lagu, musik (aransemen), dan penampil (performer) menurut UUHC ; 2) Dimampukannya KMKI untuk memiliki posisi tawar dalam perjanjian hak cipta dengan perusahaan rekaman/label karena telah dipahaminya hak dan kewajibannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan tentang UUHC dan pemberdayaan komunitas di bidang hak cipta. With the rise of the internet horror can also be found online, in particular as a type of stories called the "creepypasta". There have been a number of studies and discussions on creepypasta, but there seems to be too few studies on creepypasta that focus on the narrative structure.
