Introduction: The knee joint is the space between the femoral and tibial condyles. The tibiofemor... more Introduction: The knee joint is the space between the femoral and tibial condyles. The tibiofemoral articulations are separated by articular cartilages and menisci; with little contributions from cruciate ligaments. These are collectively seen on a radiograph as a radiolucent area between the bony tibial and femoral condyles. This study was conducted to measure the normal knee joint space in patients referred for X-Ray to the Department of Radiology of a tertiary care hospital. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed from 1st January to 1st April 2021 in the Department of Radiology and Imaging, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH). A total of 157 patients were involved. The radiographic joint space width in the knee joint was measured in both medial and lateral compartments of bilateral knees in correlation with age and gender. A 38-year-old female was brought to the emergency department with the chief complaint of acute on... more A 38-year-old female was brought to the emergency department with the chief complaint of acute onset severe abdominal pain. The abdominal pain was not associated with vomiting or fever. Her blood pressure at the time of presentation was 90/50 mm Hg and her pulse rate was 112/minute. Her past medical history revealed that she was a known case of rheumatic heart disease. She was admitted and was treated for bacterial endocarditis ten days back. No history of hypertension or diabetes was noted. No history of previous abdominal surgeries was noted.

Introduction: Sonographic carotid intima media thickness measurement in diabetic patients is an i... more Introduction: Sonographic carotid intima media thickness measurement in diabetic patients is an important tool for estimating the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events. It is a simple, noninvasive and widely available tool which can give idea of further treatment needed. The objective of this study was to determine the mean intima media complex thickness in patients with type II diabetes mellitus attending a tertiary care center. Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study done in 64 patients with the type II diabetes mellitus patients visiting diabetic clinic of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, sent for carotid Doppler examination in the department of radiology and imaging. Ethical approval was taken from the Instituitonal Review Board. Convenient sampling method was used.
