Moringa (Moringa oleifera) has the potential to be an ingredient of superfood and biopharmaceutic... more Moringa (Moringa oleifera) has the potential to be an ingredient of superfood and biopharmaceutical because it is rich in nutrients, vitamins, and other secondary metabolites. Moringa leaves contain antioxidants to neutralize and stabilize free radicals in the body. Moringa exploration is important for the purpose of finding trees to be used as sources of superior seeds. This study aimed to obtain a Moringa tree with the highest antioxidant content. An exploration had been carried out from June to July 2021 in four cities/regencies in West Sumatra, namely Padang City, Solok City, Pesisir Selatan Regency, and Solok Selatan Regency. Coordinate data were analyzed using ArcGIS, and antioxidant activity test results were analyzed using the DPPH method. From the exploration, 36 Moringa trees were found with different characters. Patchouli [Pogostemon cablin Benth] is a plant that produces essential oils that are used for var... more Patchouli [Pogostemon cablin Benth] is a plant that produces essential oils that are used for various industrial purposes. To increase the productivity of patchouli, quality seeds are needed. Patchouli propagation can be performed by in vitro culture such as direct or indirect organogenesis. The purpose of this study was to obtain the types of explants and composition of the media to inducing shoot through direct organogenesis. The research used a factorial completely randomized design. The first factor was the type of explants [leaves and nodus], the second factor was the concentration of BA [0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 ppm]. Data were analyzed using the F test and Duncan as posthoc test using the STAR [Statistical Tool for Agricultural Research]. The results showed shoot induction time varies from 9.3-21.7 days after culture. BA with 0.3 ppm gives the best performance in a number of the shoot and shoots height about 16.3 shoots and 2.1 cm, respectively.

Suhu tinggi pada tanaman adalah terdenaturasinya protein, peningkatan fluiditas membran sel, enzim-enzim inaktif, sintesa protein terhambat dan kehilangan integritas membran. Pendekatan utama yang dapat digunakan untuk melihat kemampuan ketahanan tanaman terhadap cekaman suhu tinggi secara morfologi yaitu dengan melihat pertumbuhan tunas dan kemampuan sistem perakaran dalam menyerap air. Tujuan dari percobaan ini adalah untuk melihat pertumbuhan kecambah tiga varietas gandum pada beberapa kondisi suhu inkubator. Percobaan disusun berdasarkan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial. Study Design: Completely randomized design. Place and Duration of Study: The research was conducted in screen house of Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University, Padang, Indonesia from April to December 2018. Methodology: Completely randomized design was used in the assay. The treatment was 10 Si sources (No silica, Si 1 ppm, Si 2 ppm, Si 3 ppm, husk charcoal 50 g/plant, husk charcoal 100 g/plant, husk charcoal 150 g/plant, husk ash 50 g/plant, husk ash 100 g/plant, husk ash 150 g/plant). The variety was Anak Daro. Each treatment was replied 3 times so that 30 experimental units were obtained. Genetic improvement on tolerance to high temperatures is necessary for development of wheat in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of radiosensitivity to be used as the basis for the induction of mutations by gamma ray irradiation on embryogenic callus to obtain putative mutants with high temperature tolerance. Explants used were embryogenic callus cultured on MS medium containing 30 g L-1 sukrosa, 2 g L-1 gelrite, 2 mg L-1 2.4D and 1 mg L-1 picloram. Culture incubated for 6 weeks with temperature 20±4 oC in the room culture. Five irradiation doses (10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 Gy) were used in radiosensitivity testing.
