Objectives: the study aims to findout the effectiveness of educational program concerning infecti... more Objectives: the study aims to findout the effectiveness of educational program concerning infection control guideline on nurses, and to find out the relationship between effectiveness of program and types of hospital unit, age, level of education, and years of experience of nurses. Methodology: A quasi-experimental design study was carried out in Baghdad teaching hospital in the wards, for the period of December, 20 th 2013 to September, 30 th of July 2014, The study samples is composed of (60) nurses who have been actually working in the medical ward, blood disease, psychiatric ward, and neurological wards in Baghdad Teaching Hospital, those nurses are divided equally into the study and the control groups. The researcher constructed the educational program and instruments in order to reach the aims of this study, the program deals with (10) main domains related to infection control, and each domains consist of many items to assess the nurses knowledge, and the questionnaires consist of two parts; first is concerned with the demographic data for nurses; and the second part is concerned with the assessment of the nurses' knowledge about infection control methods. The data have been analyzed through the application of: descriptive frequency, percentages; mean of scores; and the inferential analysis that include: Analysis of variance, and the researcher used the SPSS version 20 to analysis of data.. Results: Most of the nurses 63.3% was females at age (20-29), in relation to marital status most of the samples was married, and graduated from nursing institute as educational level, (53.3%) of nurses have (1-9) years of experience and majority of nurses included with training course in Iraq but not related to infection control program , and the findings of present study revealed that there were statistical differences about the infection control knowledge of nurses between pre and post program and between the post study and post control group also there are statistical differences between level of education of nurses and infection control knowledge at P ≥0.05. Recommendation: The study recommends to application the world health organization (WHO) program of infection control program at all health centers and continuous medical educational program for all staff in the health center, and continuous follow up to applying the program to prevent spread of infection.

Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional study included a sample of 90 patients with diabetes mellitus on insulin therapy attending clinic of outpatients at National Diabetes Center of Al-Mustansiriya University and Specialized Center for Endocrine Disorders and Diabetes in Al-Russafa Health Directorate. The data were collected from March 15 to April 30, 2021. Results: The study’s participants had average information about diabetes, insulin and insulin self-administration. They got information from health personnel, personal experience, relatives, and internet. More than half of participants (53.3%) had normal level of knowledge about insulin self-administration. Background: Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by hyperglycaemia resulting from defects... more Background: Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by hyperglycaemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, efficacy, or both. Improving glycaemic control among patients with type 2 diabetes is vital in preventing micro-and macrovascular complications. Type 2 diabetes has become a serious threat to global health with an increase in its incidence in Asian countries. Objectives: The study aimed to assess the nutritional habits of type-2-diabetic patients, and to find out the relationship between nutritional habits of type-2-diabetic patients with their demographic characteristics that include age, gender, level of Educational, and duration of disease. Subjects and methods: A quantitative descriptive design was accomplished in order to inspect nutritional habits of type-2-diabetic patients. The study was carried out during the period from 30 th December 2021 to 30 th August 2022. A purposive sample of 100 patients were selected. The sample consisted of 50 patients from Baghdad Al-Rusafa Health Directorate/Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital and 50 patients from Baghdad AL-Karkh Health Directorate /Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital. Results: The study findings showed that the majority of the sample were of the age group (21-30) years old, most sample were males, quarter of them were Intermediate school graduate, 51% of patients, their HbA1c was between 8-9, which mean that more than half of patients were not controlling their blood sugar. Conclusion: Related to patient's feeding pattern the results identified that there was deficit knowledge in patients toward nutritional habits. Males were more than females regarding to use bad feeding pattern.

The study aims to assess nurses’ knowledge toward preventing catheter-associated urinary tract in... more The study aims to assess nurses’ knowledge toward preventing catheter-associated urinary tract infections, determining the effect of nursing educational program by comparing the pre-test and post-test score on nurses’ knowledge in regards to catheter-associated urinary tract infections also to find out relationship between nurses knowledge and their demographic data. A quasi-experimental design study has been carried out in Al-Najaf City/Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Health Directorate / Al-Sadder Medical City from October 8th, 2017 to, September 10th, 2018. In order to determine the face validity of the study, (15) experts were selected to review the questionnaire, and reliability of the questionnaire is determined through pilot study through the use of test and re-test. The researcher analyzed the data through the use of descriptive and inferential statistical analysis procedures. The results of the study show that the effectiveness of educational program regarding nurses’ knowledge toward preventing of female catheter-associated urinary tract infections is positive and clear. It also shows that there is a good development with highly significant differences in study group between pre and post-test in all items related to preventing of female catheter-associated urinary tract infection.
