Moreover, the large number of theories, models, and frameworks (TMFs) available can be confusing for users. Therefore, the purpose of this scoping review was to identify and describe the characteristics of TMFs that have been used or proposed in the literature to evaluate KMb strategies. Methods A scoping review methodology was used. Articles were identified through searches in electronic databases, previous reviews and reference lists of included articles. Titles, abstracts and full texts were screened in duplicate. Data were charted using a piloted data charting form. Data extracted included study characteristics, KMb characteristics, and TMFs used or proposed for KMb evaluation. An adapted version of Nilsen (Implement Sci 10:53, 2015) taxonomy and the Expert Recommendations for Implementing Change (ERIC) taxonomy (Powell et al. in Implement Sci 10:21, 2015) guided data synthesis. Results Of the 4763 search results, 505 were retrieved, and 88 articles were eligible for review. These consisted of 40 theoretical articles (45.5%), 44 empirical studies (50.0%) and four protocols (4.5%). The majority were published after 2010 (n = 70, 79.5%) and were health related (n = 71, 80.7%). Half of the studied KMb strategies were implemented in only four countries: Canada, Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom (n = 42, 47.7%). Onethird used existing TMFs (n = 28, 31.8%). According to the adapted Nilsen taxonomy, process models (n = 34, 38.6%) and evaluation frameworks (n = 28, 31.8%) were the two most frequent types of TMFs used or proposed to evaluate KMb. According to the ERIC taxonomy, activities to "train and educate stakeholders" (n = 46, 52.3%) were the most common, followed by activities to "develop stakeholder interrelationships" (n = 23, 26.1%). Analysis of the TMFs identified revealed relevant factors of interest for the evaluation of KMb strategies, classified into four dimensions: context, process, effects and impacts. Conclusions This scoping review provides an overview of the many KMb TMFs used or proposed. The results provide insight into potential dimensions and components to be considered when assessing KMb strategies.

The proliferation of research on knowledge mobilization (KMb) over the past two decades has deepened our understanding of the dynamics of this process and of the factors that can impede its deployment, such as knowledge users’ capabilities (their beliefs, capacity to absorb knowledge, etc.), contextual conditions (resources, leadership, facilitating factors, etc.), and the availability of effective mobilization strategies (frequency, implementation, fit with context). However, yet, few good-quality studies have evaluated the impacts of KMb, such that we still know too little about the effectiveness of the different strategies and the contextual conditions in which they may ...

In the two most populous Canadian provinces (Quebec and Ontario), to reduce the vulnerability factors experienced by the most marginalized migrants, the public and community sectors engage in joint coordination efforts called intersectoral collaboration. This collaboration ensures holistic care provisioning, inclusive of psychosocial support, assistance to address food security, as well as educational and employment assistance. This research project explores how community and public sectors collaborated on intersectoral initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic to support refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants without status in cities of Montreal, Sherbrooke, and Toronto, and generates lessons for a sustainable response to the heterogeneous needs of these migrants. Methods This theory-informed participatory research is ...

In an organizational context, hackers may convince individuals to share sensitive data with them through social engineering methodologies. This situation may generate dramatic information security issues given that individuals are unprepared to anticipate the security breaches that may emerge from their actions and the potential impact of these infringements on organizations. Based on a systematic literature review, this theoretical study proposes a framework that enables us to better identify the necessary skills users need in order to acquire and securely share sensitive knowledge in their work environment.

However, decision makers do not always feel sufficiently equipped or may lack the capacity to use evidence. This can lead them to overlook or set aside research results that could be relevant to their practice area. Aims and objectives: The objective of this systematic review was to synthesise the essential skills that facilitate the use of research evidence by public health decision makers. Methods: Thirty-nine articles that met our inclusion criteria were included. An inductive approach was used to extract data on evidence-informed decision-making-related skills and data were synthesised as a narrative review. Findings: The analysis revealed three categories of skills that are essential for evidence-informed decision-making process: interpersonal, cognitive, and leadership and influencing skills. In Québec and Canada, few studies have focussed on adolescents, and even fewer of these studies have examined this subject using a methodology that involved comparisons of data obtained before and during the pandemic, which is the purpose of this study. Objective The objective of this study is to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the anxiety of secondary 1 and 2 students in Québec, using data obtained before and during the pandemic. Method Participants were 2990 French Canadian students in secondary 1 (grade 7) and secondary 2 (grade 8) in Québec. Two independent samples completed the questionnaires, one sample before the pandemic (fall 2019) and one sample during the pandemic (fall 2020). Their answers were subjected to descriptive analysis and multivariate analysis of variance. Results Results show that the pandemic has had variable impacts on the student's mental health, with some of them reporting negative effects on their lives, others reporting no effect, and some reporting positive effect. However, the students surveyed during the pandemic generally reported more symptoms of generalized anxiety, and higher levels of test anxiety, fear of judgment and perfectionism than the ones surveyed before the pandemic. Conclusions The discussion puts forward possible explanations for the results obtained, which contribute to a better understanding of young adolescents' experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also discusses the importance of developing interventions for adolescents affected by this pandemic.

This article addresses the role of the intermediary in a collaborative research project. The focus is on how the intermediary facilitates the implementation of an interactive knowledge transfer model. Using a case study as part of a research strategy, we demonstrate that the success of a collaborative research project rests on the credibility and legitimacy of the intermediary, as well as its ability to encourage the involvement of all stakeholders. In fact, the collaborative leadership demonstrated by the intermediary helped to reconcile the various motivations of the project’s stakeholders as well as their views of the project’s usefulness.

This chapter provides an overview of knowledge brokering in the digital age in the context of the health sector in Canada. Despite the proliferation of theoretical and inductive research that has examined knowledge brokering, there are still some questions to be answered, inspired by the works and conclusions of Ward et al. (2009a) and Dobbins et al. (2009): what technologies are used by knowledge brokers, what interactions are initiated with the stakeholders involved, and what about the effectiveness of knowledge brokering? Drawing from a robust literature review and based on a survey of a representative sample of knowledge brokers using web 2.0 social networks, our investigations attempts to measure the challenges and the determinants of knowledge brokering, with the aim of helping healthcare CONTENTS 20.

The first trip was a fact finding mission and the second trip was for implementation purposes. On the first trip, information was gathered to help assess and create three new concentration curriculums for Tshwane University of Technology. One of the current curriculum objectives being developed is the specialty in Aviation Management. According to Sue Geldenhuys, Travel and Tourism Head of Department at Tshwane University of Technology, it will be the first of its kind in Southern Africa. During the first trip to South Africa, the aviation curriculum development leader met with various individuals representing a vast cross-section of the South African aviation industry. They included the following: Civil Aviation Authority, South African Airways, ICAO-International Civil Aviation Organization, Airport Company of South Africa, local airport managers, and local and regional government agencies. The overall contingency among these individuals was that there is a great need for aviation curriculum in the higher education system of South Africa. Every entity offered advice and input to the potential new curriculum and expressed immediate support of the new program. The article examines the needs assessment for aviation curriculum in the higher educational system of South Africa. It also explores the content of this curriculum.

For over a decade, several strategies to improve the use of knowledge by policy-makers have been promoted. Among them, the use of individuals called "intermediaries" or "knowledge brokers" is presented as a potential strategy. Situated at the organizational interface, these actors benefit from a strategic position allowing easier access to external knowledge. Therefore they must develop good skills to be able to properly enjoy all opportunities to create the value for their organization. In fact, many authors consider brokers as veritable knowledge integrators that assess, interpret, synthesize, exploit and transfer pertinent knowledge. Despite the presence of several studies that stress the importance of the multifaceted role of brokers, few have explored how these actors concretely integrate or absorb knowledge and especially, what skills are necessary for the success of their ac...
