Morel-Lavallée lesions require immediate attention because it may lead to superinfection and poor patient outcomes, if treatment is delayed. Materials and methods: A detailed case study was done of three patients who were diagnosed with Morel-Lavallée lesion at the outpatient surgery department of tertiary care center at Sri Amritsar. Results and conclusion: Patients were treated either surgically or conservatively and they responded to treatment. It can be concluded that the initial treatment is critical to shortening the clinical course and preventing the recurrence. Early diagnosis and management are essential. The Morel-Lavallée lesion is usually missed during the initial assessment, so a thorough clinical examination of roadside accident should be done to rule out such lesions. Neglected lesions can become infected and progression of lesion may lead to extensive skin necrosis.

Re-vascularisation involves all the above steps in case of limb injuries that result in a near total amputation. Aim and Objective: To study the functional outcome of patients undergoing replantation of hand at wrist level. Material and Methods: This is a retrospective study of patients who underwent replantation of total amputation of hand at wrist level within a period of Jan 2003-June 2010. We evaluated post operative functional outcome compared to uninjured hand taking into consideration: 1. The patient′s overall satisfaction with the hand. 2. Recovery of flexor and extensor function of thumb and fingers. 3. Recovery of thumb opposition. 4. Recovery of sensations in the median and ulnar nerve distribution. 5. Ability of surviving hand to perform daily tasks. Results: There were total seventeen patients and age range was two...

Its etiology is mostly linked to exposure to U.V. rays in sunlight. Diagnosis is mostly clinical and wide local excision is main treatment modality. Methods: The study was conducted on 50 cases of BCC diagnosed at Sri Guru Ramdas University of Health Sciences during a study period extending from January 2013 to January 2021. In the present study various variables associated with BCC i.e. age, gender, size, site, and histopathology were studies. Results: The present study was conducted on 50 patients of BCC. Total number of males was 32 (64%) and there were 18 (36%) females. Mean age of patients presented with BCC was 65 years and SD=14.054. It was observed that most common site of lesion was infra orbital region 12 (24%). Size of lesion varied from 1 to 3 cm and wide local excision with flap was most commonly performed procedure at our Institute. Nodular sclerosing was observed to b...

It can be defined as infection of any layers within the soft tissue compartment (dermis, subcutaneous tissue, superficial fascia, deep fascia or muscle). Early diagnosis and management with identification of co morbidities and treating them brings down the morbidity and mortality rate. To make a full assessment of the cause, all patients require a detailed history, examination and, investigations. Methods: This is a cross sectional comparative study of 50 patients having symptoms of necrotizing fasciitis to be divided into two groups of 25 patients each where one group is having diabetes mellitus and other group without diabetes mellitus. Results: Diabetes mellitus patients have more morbidity and mortality in term of more days of hospital stay, rate of amputations and number of debridements. Early diagnosis and early aggressive debridement is the mainstay of management. Aggressive surgical debridement at initial stages of ...

Verrucous carcinoma of vulva is a rare histological variation occurring in less than 1% of vulvar cancer cases. It is generally locally invasive and is not associated with metastasis to distant organs. Lesions present in the form of a verrucous, ulcerated, and bleeding tumor that can reach large dimensions. The differential diagnosis is condylomata, both macroscopically and microscopically.

A very important aesthetic function is served by maxillofacial skeleton moreover the prominent position of maxillofacial skeleton makes it more susceptible to fracture. Methods: A prospective study was done to assess the main etiology and pattern of maxillofacial fractures of 60 patients who came to the emergency department of Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical sciences and Research between January 2018 and June 2019.Results: Total number of patients taken for this study were 60. The number of male patients were 56 (93.33%) and number of female patients were 4 (6.66%) and male to female ratio was (14:1). The age range spanned from 11 years to 70 years with (mean age=37.30 years, SD=14.27). Primary etiologic factor for maxillofacial fractures was road traffic accidents (49, 81.66%), followed by fall (8, 13.33%), and assault accounted for (3, 5%). Total 229 fractures were present in 60 patients. Concerning the...

They develop in areas of abundant adipose tissue. Lipomas represent 4 to 5% of all benign tumors' in the body. If a Lipoma exceeds at least 10 cm in one dimension or weighs a minimum of 1000 grams, it is considered to be a giant lipoma. We report a case of a 55-year-old female. She was operated for left lipoma breast weighing 12.5 kg. This is probably the largest lipoma of breast reported in the literature. Postoperative recovery of the patient was uneventful. The case prompted this report because of its challenging size, location, diagnosis, and reconstructive solution.
