Our system takes as input a set of calibrated photographs and produces a textured 3d mesh of the scene. The pipeline is divided into three parts: dense stereo matching, multi-view correspondence linking and 3d model generation. First, we use a combined vertical aggregation and dynamic programming (DP) scheme to produce disparity maps between pairs of photographs. Then, the depth maps are computed using a multi-view correspondence linking algorithm. Finally, we use a Delaunay triangulation algorithm and texture mapping to produce the 3d model of the scene.

Fitting the model to the sparse reconstruction is defined and solved as an absolute orientation problem. The novelty of our approach is the use of facade correspondences to compute the absolute orientation. We also propose a solution to automatically establish facade correspondences

This orthosis is principally designed for people suffering from myopathy and muscle degeneration. Such patients cannot generate enough force to move alone their arm. This poster presents a new approach to control the exoskeleton using pressure sensors.

Existing approaches generally need huge database, training procedure, manual initialization or use face feature extraction manually extracted. We propose a framework for estimating the 3D head pose in its fine level and tracking it continuously across multiple Degrees of Freedom (DOF) based on ICP and particle filtering. We propose to approach the problem, using 3D computational techniques, by aligning a face model to the 3D dense estimation computed ...

We combine Visual Hull, Voxel Coloring and Marching Cubes techniques to derive an accurate 3D model from a set of calibrated photographs. First, we adapted the Visual Hull algorithm for the computation of the bounding box from image silhouettes. Then, we improved the accuracy of the Voxel Coloring algorithm using both colorimetric and geometric citerions. The calculation time is reduced using an Octree data structure. Then, the Marching Cubes is used to obtain a polygonal mesh from the voxel reconstruction. Finally, we propose a practical way to speed up the whole process using graphics hardware capababilities.

While being real-time, our implementation generates high quality disparity maps. Despite the high complexity of the calculations beliefs propagation involves, our implementation on graphics processor using CUDA API makes more than 100 times speedup compared to CPU implementation. We tested our experimental results in the Middlebury benchmark and obtained good results among the real-time algorithms. We use several programming techniques to reduce the number of iterations to convergence and memory usage in order to maintain real-time performance.

The method 20 according to the invention uses the input accelerations calculated by a vehicle behavior simulation software. The method according to the invention comprises at least the following steps: a first calculation 22 of acceleration commands to be applied by the filtering platform accelerations calculated using a filter constructed according to a mathematical model of human perception of motion; a second calculation 23 of successive positions of the platform based on acceleration commands filtered; a scaling 24 position of the platform based on physical limitations of the platform; third calculating 25 the acceleration commands to be applied by the platform on the basis of successive positions of the platform scaled.

The study questioned whether it could improve safety and protect players from injury by using it as a tool for training/coaching the packs.AimTo explore the anticipatory postural adjustments (APAs) during the engagement of the ruck, because these predictive neck and back muscles contractions protect the spinal cord at the time of impacts, which is crucial to prevent injuries.MethodsWe quantified the kinematics and the EMG activities in high-level front row players during their initial engagement, when scrummaging with M-Rex. All studies were performed with one player interacting with the robot, at first, and then with the three players acting together.ResultsFor most of the tested high-level players, the APA latencies were highly variable from trial to trial even though the engagement resulted in similar impacts. At time, the onset of the electromy...

The simulator was passive or responded to the player(s) to simulate the reaction of opposite players. Sensors in the beam measured the force exerted by each of the players. Their movements were recorded with a Codamotion system.ResultsThe force signals exhibited two phases: a transient phase, similar to a damped sinusoid with a dominant frequency around 5 Hz when the players scrummaged alone and with a wider range when playing together; then, a sustained phase could be decomposed in two components: a DC component remained stable whether frontliners played alone or together. In contrast, its variability decreased when the frontliners played together compared with when they played alone. As for the oscillations, the frontliners exhibited a large variability in their ability to synchronise their efforts during...
