The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of internet addiction and its relationship with the level of self esteem and life satisfaction in students of lorestan university of medical sciences in Iran. A cross-sectional study, with applying stratified sampling and then multi-stage cluster sampling method was performed. The sample size was 160. Four questionnaires (Demographic characteristics, Internet Addiction Test (IAT) by Dr. Kimberly Young, Rosenberg's Self esteem Scale and Diener's Life Satisfaction Scale) were used to collect data, the software spss 16 was used for data analysis. Prevalence of internet addiction was 10%, and this problem was more prevalent in male students (P˂0.05). Moreover, there was a significant and adverse relation between internet addiction score and self esteem score (P=0.015), and life satisfaction score (P=0.012). There was a significant and direct relationship between life satisfaction and self esteem (P=0.001). Young people should be encouraged to use the internet as a more useful and efficient tool and become aware of the internet and its harmful effects.

Objectives: This study aimed to describe the medical university faculty members' perceptions of nutritional health in the Quran, revealing the important role of faculty members. Materials and Methods: This qualitative study was conducted with a phenomenological approach. Homogeneous sampling was performed in a final sample size of 16 subjects. The Colaizzi's phenomenological method was applied for data analysis. Results: Three main categories were extracted from the data analysis, including the importance of nutrition in the Quran (referring to certain fruits, vegetables and foods, illustrating and venerating the heavenly ones, nutritional recommendations, revealing the healing power of honey and the effects of fruits and vegetables on physical and social health); reasons of different foods being lawful (halal) and unlawful (haram) (religious slaughter, wine, meats, consequences of consuming haram materials, general expression of halal and haram terms); and fasting (fasting and physical health, fasting and mental health). Conclusions: What has been mentioned in the Quran is what scientists have achieved over the time, since the Quran is governed by logic. Although we do not know the reasons for many things in the Quran, we consider it as the foundation.

However, the extent to which PA explains the association of pain with FL is largely unknown, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. This study estimates whether and how much pain in FL is mediated by PA engagement. Methods We used cross-sectional data from 770 adults aged 50–69 years who participated in the Aging, Health, Psychological Well-being, and Health-seeking Behavior Study in Ghana. FL and pain characteristics were defined using the Medical Outcomes Study Short Form-36. PA was assessed by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire—Short Form. Bootstrapped mediation analyses estimated the direct and indirect hypothesized associations. The control variables included age, sex, residential type, level of education, monthly income, social isolation, emotional distress, multimorbidity, and self-rated health. Results After ad...

High treatment costs, the use of iron chelators, comorbidities and periodic visits affect the quality of life in these patients. The present study was conducted to assess the quality of life, according to the Short healthy survey (SF-36), in Iranian patients with thalassemia major. Materials and Methods: In this meta-analysis, search was done in national and international databases, including SID, MagIran, Google Scholar, Web of Science, Medline (via PubMed), and Scopus until March 2018. The searched papers were screened and summarized by two independent reviewers. Based on the heterogeneity among the studies, the data were analyzed using the random effects model. Data were analyzed using STATA version 14.0. Results: Data from 18 studies, including 2,897 patients (age group 12-45 years old); were entered in the final analysis. The mean mental component scale in patients with thalassemia major (57.30; 95% confidence interval: 50.31-64.30) was lower than the mean physical component scale (62.77, 95% CI: 52.63-70.91). The mental component scale increased significantly between 2009 and 2017 (as the year of publication increased) (P = 0.043). The highest (74.77), and lowest (60.94) subscale scores of quality of life were related to physical functioning and general health, respectively. Conclusion Patients with thalassemia major have a relatively low quality of life. Providing strategies for improving the quality of life in this group of patients (particularly in terms of mental components) seems necessary.

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between Health Literacy (HL) and BFSE in lactating mothers referring to primary health care centers. Methods This cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out on lactating mothers referring to primary health care centers in 2022. Multi-stage cluster sampling was done with 160 samples. The data were collected using demographic questionnaire, Persian shortened form of the BSES is a self-reported instrument for measuring a mother's Breastfeeding self-efficacy and Health Literacy for Iranian Adults (HELIA). Data were analyzed using ANOVA, independent t-test, correlation test and liner regression by SPSS version 16, with a significance level of 5%. Results There was a significant positive correlation between the HL score and its four domains(Reading, Behaviour and decision making, Accessing, and Understanding) except for the appraisal domain with BFSE score. The variables of use of formula, HL, duration of breastfeeding, and education were considered predictors of BFSE. Conclusion In general, the results indicate a possible relationship between BFSE and mothers' HL. Therefore, improving mother's HL can have a positive effect on promoting infants' nutrition.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between critical thinking skills and conflict management styles in the Medical University FMs (MUFMs). A descriptive cross-sectional study using the stratified sampling and then Quota sampling was performed. The sample size was 160 people. The Thomas and Kilman's Questionnaire for Conflict Management Style and Critical Thinking Questionnaire Form B were used. This study showed that the total score of faculty members' critical thinking was lower than the expected mean. The participants have more deductive thinking skills. Other skills are descending respectively, including inductive thinking skills, evaluation, inference, and analysis. In the Conflict Management styles, the Compromising style scored the highest. And other styles are used in descending respectively, including; conflict management styles avoidance, competition, and collaboration. This study showed that the Compromising Conflict Management Style was the highest among the FMs and, in contrast to the Collaborating conflict management style, scored the lowest. The deductive Critical thinking skill scored the highest; in contrast, the analysis critical thinking skill was the least scored. This study showed that by increasing the total score of critical thinking skills of participants, the using of avoidance and compromising conflict management style is more likely.

Methods: Using an explanatory descriptive qualitative method, this study was conducted in 2019. Fortyone participants (6 patients, 5 family caregivers, 12 oncologists, and 18 nurses) were selected through purposive sampling. In-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect the data, which were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Lincoln and Guba's criteria of rigor were employed to ensure the trustworthiness of the study. Results: Data analysis showed two categories, each with three subcategories: Barriers related to HCPs that contains "educational and communication barriers", "failure to establish trust" and "unskilled healthcare professionals"; Barriers related to the HCS, which consists of "inadequate physical and care infrastructures to provide services", "lack of support in the disease trajectory from diagnosis to rehabilitation" and "mismanagement of CT wards/procedures". Conclusion: The identi cation and removal of the barriers related to HCPs and HCS from routine care are crucial. Education of and communication with cancer patients and their family caregivers are two important pillars in the quality of intravenous chemotherapy (IV CT) and this education and communication should be based on individualized care and tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

Communication and interaction are vital in any form of education. This study explained health profession educators' and students' experiences regarding the challenges of communication and cooperation in exclusively online classrooms during the COVID-19 era. Methods The present descriptive explanatory qualitative study examined health profession educators' and students' experiences with exclusively online classrooms during the COVID-19 era. They were included in the study by purposive sampling. In-depth and semi-structured telephone interviews were conducted to collect data. The content analysis presented by Graneheim and Lundman was used to analyze the data. The present study employed four strength criteria: credibility, confirmability, transferability, and dependability. Results The results of the present study included communication and cooperation challenges in exclusively online classrooms related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two themes emerged from 400 open codes: lack of students' socialization and communication-related concerns, which each had subcategories. Conclusions Lack of students' socialization and communication problems were identified as the participants' main experiences. Defects in teacher training due to the sudden transition to virtual education, acquiring a professional identity that is possible in in-person education was also flawed. The participants experienced challenges in their class activities, leading to a decrease in trust, a lack of motivation to learn from students, and teachers' teaching. Policymakers and authorities should adopt new tools and techniques to improve exclusively virtual education outcomes.
